You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders, and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give the staffroom password just in case it attracts the wrong sort

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the booze is stashed - Thirsty Tuesdays, Fizz Fridays now in operation.

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom and you will receive a detention

Umm the Chris person - is that his job? Looking pretty and complimenting us?

noblegiraffe · 15/02/2021 21:22

While sitting on a chair, you'll note. It's like it was made for us.

His job is usually looking pretty and acting. This video was obviously not an act.

GuyFawkesDay · 15/02/2021 21:22

And follow his Instagram. Where he takes his kids on normal campervan holidays and bakes cakes.

Wibble.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 15/02/2021 21:24

That video just needs one very, very minor change. He’s missed out feisty.

MrsHamlet · 15/02/2021 21:26

I bet he wears great shoes.

SmileEachDay · 15/02/2021 21:26

I think he implied feisty, Rafals.

He didn’t need to say it.

Piggywaspushed · 15/02/2021 21:28

I may have to watch the Chris video before my interview next week.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/02/2021 21:30

That video actually made me smile which is an achievement today.

Congrats to all the good news receivers.

I've seen they're putting people with significant mental health issues down as a vaccine priority.

Wondering whether I will be mental enough or asthmatic enough first. Or neither

chocolateisavegetable · 15/02/2021 21:32

He's actually a waiter

Viciouslybashed · 15/02/2021 21:44

@dreamingofBrie I've been around for a while, sometimes post sometimes don't for a while.
I knew Noble had a few peoples backs up. The pandemic has brought out the absolute worst in some people.

DreamingofBrie · 15/02/2021 21:50

@GuyFawkesDay

This made me laugh because dd and I spent most of yesterday morning slobbing on the sofa watching cookery shows on BBC2, and your comment reminded me that Ed Balls made a cracking children's party cake Grin. Not as easy on the eye though!
JanFebAnyMonth · 15/02/2021 21:51

Hugs honey. (Do we know each other well enough on here to not have to describe them as "unMNy"?)

chocolateisavegetable · 15/02/2021 21:56

@JanFebAnyMonth

Hugs honey. (Do we know each other well enough on here to not have to describe them as "unMNy"?)
Well, you called me Chic earlier, so I'm thinking it's fine.

Hugs from me too honey

GuyFawkesDay · 15/02/2021 21:59

@DreamingofBrie Ed Balls is very good cook, I think he posts recipes quite a lot. He's no Chris Hemsworth though!!

TheHoneyBadger · 15/02/2021 22:01

Thank you. Feeling a lot better this evening. Will be glad to be finished the med switch rollercoaster and for the new ones to start taking effect. Not very emotionally resilient at the minute.

Very glad I'm not teaching or dealing with colleagues this week

SmileEachDay · 15/02/2021 22:05

Honey I heard a podcast about honey badgers yesterday.

Do you know how they stupify bees? 😳

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/02/2021 22:11

@Monkeytennis97 you’ve just made half term with your news 🎉🎉🎉

No idea about any of the men pics - don’t know who any of them are. I’d rather a good puzzle or game #saddo

I’ve deffo got more ‘feisty’ as I’ve got older. Think my fucks have run out a long time ago and since having children I just am not prepared to just shut up for the sake of it. Interestingly there have been three major ‘incidents’ - which ended up with me being shouted at on a number of occasions, essentially threatened (not physically but when things were raised told things like ‘other schools make their staff do x, y or z so you’re lucky we’re only ...’) none of which I accepted and all of which I did not let lie. And all of which have ultimately led to changes being made for the better. Each at the time were AWFUL, each at the time I felt I’d put a massive target on my back at the time. It massively frustrates me that it is not possible to bring up something at my school without it being a HUGE fucking issue with them getting all defensive.

Last year I went back and talked to head and HR and talked about their reaction and how hard it was to raise things - and we ended up with a really productive conversation so I’m glad I went back and did it. I’ve managed to raise something this year and it not kick off at all - but maybe I was also better at saying it differently too?

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9262341/Coronavirus-UK-Study-finds-no-evidence-schools-drive-Covid-outbreaks.html

Just above the picture of the half empty classroom.

I know its the mail.

Piggywaspushed · 15/02/2021 22:43

It's interesting how many BTL comments can see through the nonsense. The reports on the report even show it is utterly inconclusive.

Piggywaspushed · 15/02/2021 22:44

Still can't find the actual study though.

TheHoneyBadger · 15/02/2021 22:44

No smile but I'd like to.

They're definitely feisty though. There is a video of them narrated by a really camp man. Catchphrase being, 'honey badger don't care, honey badger don't give a shit!'.

At one point it eats part of a poisonous snake, is knocked out by the poison then wakes up and eats the rest of it.

JanFebAnyMonth · 15/02/2021 22:49

Piggy one of the main posters on the Data thread can't find it either, so I'm concluding it's not been published in any 'public' place.

JanFebAnyMonth · 15/02/2021 22:51

And of course its main omission is how schools might contribute to community spread (via families mainly). It acknowledges that.

SmileEachDay · 15/02/2021 22:53

There you go Honey 😂

JanFebAnyMonth · 15/02/2021 22:53

HerculeP it sounds like both you and your school have progressed in very meaningful ways, well done!
