You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff only – a sort of room of requirement. Baiters, haters, goaders and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Do not give ‘The Every twat for Themselves mob’ the staffroom password as a number of them are operating in an alternative reality.

No DfE muppets allowed

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to goad us then that is not allowed in the staffroom, especially if you have not used the hand gel. Close the door quietly on your way out and put your mask on.

So far we have heard nothing from OCR except Ofqual’s guidance. All Lit texts have been studied as we start in summer term of Yr 9 but would be good to know for revision purposes!

Happy birthday @Piggywaspushed 🍰 🎈 🍷

But you have us!

MrsHamlet · 11/09/2020 17:45

Oh Piggy. Get yourself to your auntie's sweetshop and tuck in... or there's gin behind the photocopier.

Sorry to hear lots of you Or your children are poorly, I hope It turns out to be a quickly passing bug. DS childminder has been closed this week because of her son picking up a vomiting big at school. Thankfully, it closed before DS was due there this week so I think blindly hope we’ve been spared.

@Saucery I do that study, we got our first vouchers today. There’s a huge list of shops you can spend them with. I chose M&S and amazon to split my first voucher between. I’ve bought a lovely whitestuff cardigan that was on on offer and I’m trying hard not to spend the Amazon one on school stationary 🤪

Saucery · 11/09/2020 17:48

Errrr, ‘happy’ birthday, Piggy! Wine

I don’t see any mention of vouchers on the letter. It’s the NHS/Imperial College/ipsos MORI one. Have I been selected for a study that has no tangible reward apart from the feeling of doing some good for Science? Figures Grin

One of my front-row-sitters (within 2m of me a fair amount of the time due to the nature of my small classroom) has been off for 2 days this week. Due to a bad stomach. Hopefully she's 'just' got a normal squiffy tum, not this child's new symptom they were reporting in the press as being linked to covid. Time will tell.

cheesecurdsandgravy · 11/09/2020 17:59

@Saucery hmmmm it’s definitely running by the same people. I’m not sure at which point we were told there would be vouchers now... fingers crossed you get lucky!

Although, I have to say that the biggest reward for me is that I feel a million times safer. My biggest fear Isn’t for me, it’s that I might pass it to someone else. Silly, I know.

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/09/2020 18:04

Ahhhhh happy birthday piggy, medicinal WineGinCake for you!

Our Friday night email has been about bereavement training....

starrynight19 · 11/09/2020 18:07

Happy birthday Piggy Cake

Can’t remember who was asking about tests but I still haven’t received mine and it was done on Monday. Useless now if it comes back positive as my class have been in all week.

So sorry to hear that there are cases and staff / classes aren’t being isolated. It’s downright playing with people’s lives Sad

Piggywaspushed · 11/09/2020 18:19

Thanks all. About to go out for a curry!

eitak22 · 11/09/2020 18:26

Happy Birthday Piggy Flowers enjoy your well deserved curry!

DollyMixtureLulus · 11/09/2020 18:29

Happy birthday piggy!

Only two weeks until our long weekend now. Think our HT has been given a nod or a push from somewhere as she has put in a few new measures and is very vocally pushing masks in class.

marplemead · 11/09/2020 18:32

Happy birthday @Piggywaspushed Enjoy your curry!

@starrynight19 That was me. I can't believe you still haven't received yours either. I've been trying 119 all day, but can't get through to anyone. Someone at work says she knows a few people whose tests have gone missing Confused

cheesecurdsandgravy · 11/09/2020 18:40

@Piggywaspushed you are DH are halfway down a bottle of wine, yes? Good! Happy birthday!

I feel like I’m doing something, if that makes sense? This whole thing has taken a lot of agency and power from us and it’s sort of nice to be able to contribute iyswim.

noblegiraffe · 11/09/2020 18:45

Happy birthday piggy!! 🍾🥂🎉

Hope you have a lovely evening, enjoy the curry!

Talk about insensitive.
starrynight19 · 11/09/2020 18:49

marplemead I gave up on that to. It’s absolute shambles. Am guessing mine has gone missing to.

NeurotrashWarrior · 11/09/2020 18:53

Sorry, me or my SLT salty? I hope my post wasn't insensitive. 😬

Medra · 11/09/2020 19:19

Happy Birthday @Piggywaspushed - hope you have a lovely evening.

I’ve had a cry this evening. I don’t think I’m cut out for all this moving. I’m not organised enough. I hate change and I don’t know when I’m going to get the time to plan, let alone also provide remote stuff for isolating students, who apparently we’re not allowed to know the identity of so can’t provide anything other than generic stuff.

WhyNotMe40 · 11/09/2020 19:20

Happy birthday Piggy!

Kiss of spite is on the list of Covid symptoms in children.
