You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. It is meant for school staff. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are NOT staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes, and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

If you are fed up with cakes and biscuits there is now a cheeseboard on offer

If you come with a stick to beat us with then please do so elsewhere and not in the staffroom

3rd Fully Open

Piggywaspushed · 13/08/2020 08:10

So.... 4 out of 8 of mine were adjusted downwards...

The A* to an A
The A to a B
One B to a C
One C to a D

Reminder : small class with no prior data for the subject and high KS4.

Hercwasonaroll · 13/08/2020 08:13

Shit piggy that's awful. Mines a gcse class with no prior data but not looking good.

tadjennyp · 13/08/2020 08:16

We only had three doing A Level MFL for the first time this year, so their results will be interesting.
That just seems outrageous piggy . Those poor kids. Angry

tadjennyp · 13/08/2020 08:17

Gav is on 5 Live now.

starrynight19 · 13/08/2020 08:17

Ds disappointed , history he got his mock result despite his teacher saying he had done outstanding coursework. Sad

tadjennyp · 13/08/2020 08:18

Sorry starry .

Danglingmod · 13/08/2020 08:19

Sorry, Piggy and Starry Sad

MrsHamlet · 13/08/2020 08:20

Our top end has been decimated. I feel sick. Those poor kids.

tadjennyp · 13/08/2020 08:21

Apparently track (not sure what it's called) has crashed so students can't find out whether they have their places or not.

MrsHamlet · 13/08/2020 08:22

@tadjennyp well that's bloody marvellous, isn't it?!

Danglingmod · 13/08/2020 08:23

Just wondered why I'd not seen a single fb post re Uni places (I know lots of parents of Yr 13s).

starrynight19 · 13/08/2020 08:30

Lots of his friends disappointed to , two of them marked down from A’s to c’s Sad one got given a grade lower than his mocks Confused

Medra · 13/08/2020 08:31

That’s awful. So many changes with such a small cohort.
Enoughnowstop · 13/08/2020 08:32

Only 2 entered (MFL), results stayed the same. Not sure they could have done anything else but clearly logic is not prevailing in some cases.

namechangedyetagain · 13/08/2020 08:45

Really feeling for all students and A level teachers today. Just cannot believe what an utter balls up this Gov have made of education. Our friends DS is waiting on his results he needs AAB to get his place.

Good luck to everyone today 🤞

Phineyj · 13/08/2020 08:46

Three of nine of mine were adjusted down one grade. Top and bottom of the range stayed the same. Could have been worse, and in line with mocks where downgraded.

Hercwasonaroll · 13/08/2020 08:53

@starrynight19 Hopefully they can benefit from Gavs mock announcement.

CAGs adjustment is really tough for small cohorts. Below about 20 each student is incredibly statistically significant.

RigaBalsam · 13/08/2020 08:55

Ahh that's crappy Piggy.

My school only goes up to 16. Good luck to those that have a vi form.

You'd have thought they'd consider this

Appuskidu · 13/08/2020 09:02

DS got into his first choice-phew. Trying to get onto that Track system was a nightmare though!

CarrieBlue · 13/08/2020 09:05

We go back 7th, my kids back 8th, my students 9th or 10th depending on year group.

HipTightOnions · 13/08/2020 09:06

I am waiting for 100+ Maths/FM results (how come yours arrive so quickly?!) and it looks like anything could happen. I was supporting Ofqual’s approach yesterday but some of these results are sounding dodgy.

So sorry for those disappointed so far.

noblegiraffe · 13/08/2020 09:09

Oh yes ,Herc, kids get an A in Further Maths and a C in maths all the time Hmm

I’ve looked at my results, they don’t look great but I don’t actually know what their CAGs were so I’ve no idea who has been downgraded. I can’t imagine that they all were the grades we actually submitted.
