Let's boycott all school threads outside of Education

Honestly guys we are getting a kicking on other threads. We repeatedly have to explain our contracts, holidays, why we are not doing more online, why we should be doing less on ...... it is never ending. So far we have been off for the Easter break plus a max of two weeks. There is a lot of the population that do not need childcare. We are open for key worker children but that gets ignored. All the social distancing issues are ignored. All the ppe requirements are ignored. Now it could be that the trolls just see us as an easy target, hence all the forlough calls. So as a union member, I am requesting that teachers do not have to explain themselves on other threads as we are just fueling the fire. (I have been guilty of this).

So I am calling for a union boycott!

Morning All

Just opened MN to find that the schools open in 3 weeks thread has descended into a proper teacher bash. But fed up of halos being handed out to supermarket workers (who I very much doubt want to go to work at the moment or like being seen as sacrificial lambs!) for 'putting themselves at risk' while we are 'hiding away' , 'unlike everyone else' and calls for us to be sacked if we don't want to go to work when our highly trustworthy government declares it's safe.

Some of us have still been trying to argue with stupid but ,anyway, the point is that thread is now at 908 posts.

We could all stop that one by going over this morning and bedecking it with flowers. chloe has already done one post. We all have nothing better to do after all so shall we get cracking with the flowers?

cheesecurdsandgravy · 20/04/2020 07:43

Link please @Piggywaspushed

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 20/04/2020 08:04

Yes just seen it @Piggywaspushed it is an absolute disgrace. I added a flower but think we should leave it for now.
@FlissMumsnet - can the thread in coronavirus be pulled. It is not good for the mental health of school staff

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 20/04/2020 08:16

INSET today for us too, including centre assessed grades,

Thanks for the support here Flowers Daffodil. I think we might need it in the coming weeks!

ineedaholidaynow · 20/04/2020 08:40

I am not a teacher but a school governor for a group of Primary schools and a parent of Y10 DS.

I am in regular contact with SLT of the Primary schools so know how hard they are working and how concerned they are about their pupils.

Am also seeing how hard DS’s school teachers are working to help him keep up with his GCSE work.

So thank you Flowers

tadjennyp · 20/04/2020 08:42

I have my mid-term performance management meeting today! Good luck with the CAG, everyone.

practicallyperfectwithprosecco · 20/04/2020 08:43

In the meantime bomb it with flowers so it reaches its limit and no one else can post?

BelleSausage · 20/04/2020 08:56

Good Morning.

Loving this thread. Welcome to day one of Summer Term (had to think had about that one. Thinks are so turned around).

I totally agree that the Staffroom needs to stay for staff. I’m not going to be posting on any school threads outside of the Staffroom for now. They are full of trolls and teacher haters!

I’m going to start a thread in Staffroom that’s a sort of ‘what have you done today’. I hope maybe the parents who come along will read it and see that lots of us are trying to WFH and look after children too.

SallyLovesCheese · 20/04/2020 09:06

Good luck, Piggy, I'm sure it'll be fine 💐💐💐

ChloeDecker · 20/04/2020 09:14
