I've name changed here.

I'm M6 in the private sector. salary is £43k so reasonable. I'm not SLT but do have extra responsibilities. Do you get additional allowances? The TLR doesn't seem to exist in private.

I have a HOD responsibility and get a mid level 2 TLR for it. The scales are here:

Bobbie are you state or private?

Ok. interested to hear about additional allowances in private.

That’s an amazing salary for M6. I don’t even get that as a HOD, although I did earn that in a very unusual private school.

Blimey I’m top of Upper payscale and you get £4K more than me. I’m state. But I have now allowance

Shadowboy · 10/02/2018 14:45

No not now!

Every independent school is different though. If they want you, and your expertise in running something extra, they'll pay. If they don't, or can't afford to, they won't.
