I've name changed here.

I'm M6 in the private sector. salary is £43k so reasonable. I'm not SLT but do have extra responsibilities. Do you get additional allowances? The TLR doesn't seem to exist in private.

Every independent school is different though. If they want you, and your expertise in running something extra, they'll pay. If they don't, or can't afford to, they won't.

Blimey I’m top of Upper payscale and you get £4K more than me. I’m state. But I have now allowance

That’s an amazing salary for M6. I don’t even get that as a HOD, although I did earn that in a very unusual private school.

I have a HOD responsibility and get a mid level 2 TLR for it. The scales are here:
