Most awkward encounter with an student you've taught?

Just today, ran into a shop to buy a sports bra to be met with "MISS, What are YOU doing in here" by the sixth form aged assistant to whom I taught GCSE.

Was funny awkward, to be fair. And she helped me buy the bra (although thank goodness I knew the size, don't think I could have gone through trying it on)

The stroppy y8 who huffed and puffed and disliked me intensely (because I expected her to shut up occasionally and do some work) is now baby DD's key worker at nursery! She's lovely now but can't quite believe I entrust my precious baby to her every day. ..

A friend of mine met an ex student as her MW while in labour with her first child. She was very grateful that the student's shift ended before her labour kicked off!

Worked in an FE college in a largely Muslim community. I moved flat and a colleague helped me do it, using his car. When I was settled in we took off down to the local Sainsbury's to pick up food and, naturally add a few bottles of wine as I was cooking him a thank you dinner. So there we are, standing in the queue at the checkout with a trolley full of food and drink when we realised every single checkout was manned by one of our students.

The rumours about our alcohol fuelled affair was all over the college the next Monday . I don't know what was more shocking to them, the fact that we actually conversed and socialised outside of school hours or the wanton purchase of alcohol

Sitting I my dressing gown in a spa.

In the swimming pool at a Skeggness Haven site.

And it wasn't just any student. It was the 'troublemaker lad' (and he was quite vile) of my form as a student teacher. I was mortified.

In the swimming pool, sat like a beached whale in the shallowest baby pool (30cm deep) as it was warm and I was roundly pregnant with DD2 while playing with DD1 in the water.

I also groaned (inwardly) at the 'Hello Miss...'

Nipped into supermarket for tampons and decided to get a bottle of wine while I was there. The wine I liked was on offer so I got 2 bottles. So the only things I'd put on the conveyor belt were tampons and wine and a lad from school joined the queue behind me with his entire family. They must have thought I had really bad PMT or something to need all that wine to go with the Tampax!

Went into toni and guy as a treat. Got talking to an ex-student (male) who left previous year. All fine.
Until the stylist said 'well as you two know each other, X can wash your hair'

And he did. Poor kid. We both were cringing as he had to do the head massage thing. I wanted to object but i felt like i couldn't

Oh yes, I had my hair washed by an ex student. Declined the head massage even though I love it as it was just too awkward!

Friend of a friend (sounds made up but honestly happened) was topless sunbathing in Turkey when she heard 'All right, Miss'. Shudder.

I nominate my friend for the most awkward moment.
She was shown through to the dentist's surgery for her appointment.

Buying Deflatine at the pharmacist only to be served by a current sixth former. What is worse is that I started gabbling on about it being for my nan. I am a Bad Person.

In a nightclub. Ex-Student did the "hello miss" thing. He'd left a few years back but I still taught his sister.

Hotel bar last Christmas - work Christmas do. Batman was an ex-student and so was our waitress (suspect that was on purpose) Steadily more tipsy teachers... I expect the lad behind the bar found it very amusing. One of my colleagues had taken her eom bottle of fizz (naughty) but when the waitress cleared the table when we were dancing, she popped it in an ice bucket for us - she must have know it wasn't a brand the hotel sold.

Barman! Not batman. Quite cool if Batman was an ex-student.

I go 150 miles away to Newquay on holiday. On the beach next day wetsuit on and bodyboard attached (dsds in similar attire)i get a "hello miss!"

How do i get away!!

One of my y11 girls was in the bed next to mine in the maternity ward. Her baby was born about 3 hours before dd2. I really wasn't feeling up to "hello miss" just hours after labour.

In Ann Summers. Fortunately near the front check out and not perusing anything incriminating but still, it was Ann Summers!

Walking around the hospital whilst in early stages of labour I got a 'hello miss!' There was no hiding as I was wearing a massive old school fleece. The family were then in the lift as I had a contraction. Classic!
