Just today, ran into a shop to buy a sports bra to be met with "MISS, What are YOU doing in here" by the sixth form aged assistant to whom I taught GCSE.

Was funny awkward, to be fair. And she helped me buy the bra (although thank goodness I knew the size, don't think I could have gone through trying it on)

Coolas, I wonder if we share a pal or if the bikini wax thing has happened to more than one teacher. It's a cracking story of embarrassment

At the weekend...the lifeguard at the pool. I've never felt self conscious in a swimming costume until now!

A teacher friend of mine dirty-danced with a student at a nightclub during his PGCE year - he didnt recognise them all dressed up. "Dont you recognize me Sir???" Definitely awkward that one.

I had to have a termination which I was desperately sad about. Turned up for clinic to see an ex pupil there also - aged about 16. She was horror stricken to see me. I had to give her a quick hug and tell her it was none of my business and not to worry, but I was unreasonably upset to have to look after someone on a day I wanted looking after.

My worst was sat on the loo in McDonald's. In came the students and yelled "hello miss" over the cubicle door. Oh the joys Grin.

These are brilliant, my old teachers must have loads.

One local secondary with a huge rural catchment, very low staff turn over and very many pupils don't move either.

You can drive 50 miles, into another country, and still find yourself buying knickers in front of someone you know.

My friend is a secondary teacher. We were out on her hen night in a big club in London a bit the worst for wear.

A group of younger, rather fit lads appeared to be glancing over at our table a lot and finally one started to make his towards us

Cue lots of excited whooping and innuendo filled cat calling from the hens which fell a bit flat as he emerged from the gloom and uttered the familiar words, 'hello miss'

My friend had to buy the morning-after pill from one of her ex-pupils...
