Well apparently this story isn’t going anywhere!

I really hope for Meghan’s sake that she was telling the truth about the assurances it was being investigated. And that she didn’t put pressure on the Met not to refer. And that she didn’t later use knowledge of TM’s alleged crimes to threaten him and keep him quiet, along the lines of, if you talk about me publicly I will report you. Because the unsaid bit there is, if you don’t talk about me publicly, I will also keep quiet and allow you to continue offending, because my public image is more important than children’s safety. There would be no coming back from that and it’s also a good reason to remove titles, as with AMW.

Their sudden disappearance after the referral to the IOPC does suggest to me that something horrible might come out of that investigation.

H will be on the Invictus promo trail shortly? Wonder how all of that will go for them, now… Will MM be involved? I’m sure she had planned to be! Instead of the statement they should have gone with either of these methods -

Be photographed together, on a country walk, MM looking sad, being comforted by H.

Come out, Vicky B style (skiing after the R Loos affair) & fiercely stare down the paps.

But clearly there are backroom dealings going on with the papers with the Markles & HAM. Of course RF work with the press too, but this is all just so Machiavellian. Not good.

They did announce they were retreating from "public life" for a week or 2 🙄 probably assume the latest horror chapter will be long forgotten by then

I was thinking along those lines too unfortunately.

However, they will probably remain on RF website !!! Let alone lose titles

Yes , let’s hope so …but unfortunately previous behaviour indicates we may be onto plums with this particular hope!

Did they? I missed that. Did they have a busy November lined up? Maybe with Invictus.

MindThePause · Today 11:46

Invictus may be feeling a bit twitchy at the moment.

Best case scenario, bitch slapping somebody still bleeding through the amputation bandages with “didn’t believe the allegations then, but conveniently do now, so shut your gob about me !” isn’t the nicest “non ableist” play on the planet.

The pretzel attempts of the fans to absolve Meghan and blame William for this whole mess will be interesting.

It is the latest script, isn't it.

Any little scrap to indicate that the BP/KP/the Institution knew - flog it to spread the blame; and make out poor MM was silenced.

After the OW interview, she was obviously no longer silenced by the RF. Her dad, her responsibility, as the RF have made clear.

Yes because the Met's statement says specifically that the letter was passed to the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex - even pro-Sussex ITV are reporting that.

The Metropolitan Police said on Friday that following a review, a voluntary referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct “in respect of the decision not to inform other law enforcement agencies, and the decision to pass the letter to the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

It is also interesting that, originally, it was claimed that the letter dates from the summer of 2018 ie before it was known that the two offices were
splitring. So could it be that this wasn’t actually a lapse in memory but was a deliberate attempt to imply that the letter could have been seen by the Cambridges, which was unfortunately scuppered by the Met having a record of the date of the letter 🤔

She definitely attempted to shift the timeline - after all if you had the letter, as she did, you would check the exact date before your PR gives exclusives to the Sun

2018 was a better date for her as she could have linked the letter to the events around the wedding to portray herself the victim. Unfortunately for her it didn't coincide with reality

TearsAtTannhauserGate · Today 11:57

SiegfriedSassoon · Today 10:32

Perhaps that was what she was trying to prompt, for him to be proactive in burying any evidence. Not to protect him of course, but her own reputation by association.

And is it since then that Ari Emanuel dropped her as a direct client?

Oh blimey yes - TM’s disability adds another level. I presume that’s why she was so keen to justify cutting him off, she has had some stick in the past for swanning around Invictus while ignoring her own father, maybe saw that as a potential PR issue for the 2027 games. It probably would have been fine if she’d just kept her mouth shut and allowed people to come to their own conclusions, which would mostly have been - poor Meghan, no wonder she’s NC with that awful guy.

Instead, in just a few words she managed to: make a stupid statement, centre herself, be exposed as a liar AGAIN, reveal she collaborates with the tawdriest of tabloids, admit to sitting on allegations of abuse without doing anything, and poke the Met into referring to the IOPC, whose investigation might turn up all sorts of unwelcome information. What a complete pig’s ear she’s made of it.

It seems that many "hands" are involved before the authorities take action.
In the Philippines, Thomas Jr. turned to a private computer technician to unlock the devices found in the boxes before handing them over to the police...
Now, in Mexico, the Daily Mail has gained access to a storage unit—entering it and taking photos—only notifying the authorities afterward.
Any defense attorney would argue that the evidence may have been tampered with.
Obviously, interest in justice ranks below clickbait.

Nobody seems actually interested in a criminal prosecution here and maintaining the chain of evidence.

The DM storage locker boxes look well rummaged here - has someone been through them DM? TMJ? others?

Did TMJ have access to the storage unit in Mexico? Is this where he retrieved and packed the devices to ship to the Philippines in January 2025? Odd that he didn't notice these pictures.... Or mention it to the FBI when he reported his father almost 4 months ago - back in July!

I think the Daily Express announced that. They didn't announce anything of the sort. They never even arranged weekly engagements to take a retreat from.

The only break they may have taken was somewhere with the kids over half term.

PullTheBricksDown · Today 12:13

The other interesting slip up - pointed out by another poster, sorry, I can't remember their name - is that Meghan in the Daily Mail court case of 2019(?) said that the Mail printing the contents of her letter to her dad had caused their estrangement. Her recent statement contradicts this, and basically says she lied in that court case. Not much attention to that so far but surely it'll get picked up at some point?

JoanChitty · Today 12:18

Apparently Palace Insiders are feeling sorry for Meghan. Did she feel sorry for the lies she told when Prince Philip was dying and when the LQ was still doing her duty despite being very unwell? NO.
I have no sympathy for HAM whatsoever, they deserve everything that hopefully is coming to them.

Lunde · Today 12:22

PullTheBricksDown · Yesterday 22:36

Going to re post my post from five threads back because it's still relevant

Who reports something to the police* and then thinks 'haven't heard from them for months.. years.. Shall I contact them and ask how it's progressing? No, no need, I'll just assume it's all being dealt with and anyone who is vulnerable is being protected. No need to ask any more questions'.

*or is told it will be investigated, as per Meghan's statement

However - HAM lived with a team of police officers in their house. It would be natural to mention something like "Whatever happened about that letter from my father's ex?" during a regular meeting with the their detail head.

Yes I can’t believe the Mail will let that one go. So the estrangement has at various times been the DM’s fault, Harry’s fault, the RF’s fault and TM’s fault for his pap pics. Now it’s all down to Meghan’s brave decision to cut him off for alleged behaviour that she didn’t actually know about yet. They really do put the HAM into omnishamble.
