And I wonder if Harry, twit that he is, would actually draw the line if M tried to pin the blame on the RF? I know he is, or was, besotted and hypnotised by M, but I hope he'd say 'Enough!' if she tried that on.

We'll see.

I doubt it. I doubt he has the capacity. Did you see him on that GQ interview? So inadequate and whiny.

I do think that with regards to the HaM engagement, the RF hands were absolutely tied because of her heritage. If she'd been a markle without a black mother, I do think they'd have made attempts to deter Harry.

I totally agree. I can just hear the howls of indignation and the accusations of racism if the RF had acted on (how, though?) or made public the very serious concerns about M's family.

AutumnCrowning · Today 09:57

Given that he also transferred to a very good facility in the US that he previously couldn’t afford, it was assumed that HaM had stepped in. Is Meg and/or Harry paying for it?

Yes I was wondering where he was getting the money to fund all of this.

Passingthroughagain · Today 09:59

The DM have turned the comments back on after moderating them all weekend...

I imagine M's comms team are reading and weeping.

So the BBC, when this first came out, asked is this why Harry and Meghan returned to the UK in haste?

They asked this question to Sussex PR and they said no it isn’t. We all know it doesn’t make sense the reasons they’ve given for returning. Its why the press still ask Harry etc. Just like it never made sense why Meg fell out with her dad over a few pap shots. We know when something is off.

Now I thought it was such a weird angle, that the BBC, who are not known for asking controversial questions of Meg and Harry, went down this avenue. So I thought maybe they have some info?

Well, something that might make sense is Markle jnr said he contacted the FBI in July. But that he never heard anything in three months so contacted the police in the Philippines.(See Meg, you follow up when you don’t hear anything)

Could the FBI, doing some preliminary investigations, have contacted Meg and Harry about any knowledge they had. I don’t think there was anything formal going on, as Markle Jnr never heard anything back. But could this possibly have spooked Harry and Meghan?

Onebigsham · Today 09:23

The other thing I saw over the weekend was what was said in Meghan's 2020 copyright/privacy case against the DM, where it was argued that the DM harassed TM in order to stir up a dispute between MM and TM, and that the only thing that had come between MM and her father was harassment (of him) by the tabloids. That now appears not to be the case by Meghan's own account.

I think she said a lot of things under oath or as part of her sworn statement that now warrant a combing through.

She's a middle aged woman. She's titled, privileged and a multimillionaire. How come she has so little agency in her life? She gives information to the tabloids, which is fine, but any hint of a criticism? She and her fans go to pieces.
She is not above criticism because she is a royal duchess.

And she's tried to destroy the reputation of others, particularly Catherine, to the world. And C isn't just a woman M has a problem with (I'm sure her life is littered with their corpses!): she's the future Queen of the UK, so the things M and H tried to pin on her were extremely serious and not just a celebrity spat.

Maybe they wanted that for some protection? Be under the wings of the Palace? Would be much easier to navigate this shit show

Also why Harry is super keen on reconciliation?

So, apparently in the mystery letter sent by Roslyn Loveless to the Met she writes:

“I questioned Thomas Snr — he denied accusation but stated that he went to the Philippines and Thailand because 12-year-olds are legal there.”

The accusation she questioned him about isn't given in the media reports yet, but it sounds like she heard some accusation and asked him about it, rather than having any first-hand evidence of her own. He denied it but then, for some reason, allegedly said why he went to the Philippines and Thailand. I don't know about Thailand but the age of consent in the Philippines was 12 until a few years ago when it was increased to 16.

If this is indeed what the letter contains, then there may have been nothing for the Met to investigate or pass on to another force abroad because it's very possible that no law was broken. Even if that wasn't the case, the allegations in the letter are so unspecific it would be difficult to know what to investigate. Moreover, Loveless could have been referring to allegations from the late 1960s and early 1970s (when she was married to Markle), which would have been outside the statute of limitations.

Also, we don't know just what the rest of the letter says or what the accusation against Markle Snr that Loveless refers to is or even when this conversation took place. Markle Snr and Loveless divorced in 1975, which is 50 years ago now, 44 years before she sent the letter. The conversation could still have been some years later, but even then it sounds like they were having a row. If he did indeed say that then he could have just been saying whatever nasty things he could think of in the heat of the moment.

Personally, if my dad's ex had said that about him then rather than immediately cut him off, I would confront him with these accusations, and I'd also bear in mind that my dad's ex is a problematic person herself.

Not defending Thomas Snr if he did do that stuff, even if was legal, but this letter doesn't quite chime with the timeline and narrative Meghan is trying to shape.

I genuinely don't understand how Meghan puts up with him. Taking all her Entonox when she was in labour? Selfish, immature, addled fool.

This is surely an example of a tale to be taken with a pinch of salt. Hospital staff in the UK simply wouldn't allow that to happen.
Agree that I'm glad my husband isn't like Harry though, but then, I decided to marry him for reasons other than just, eerrm, aesthetic ones 😅

Yes, she shouldn't have believed her awful brother, the pernicious Martin Bashir, nor become friends with and hung out with the very questionable Al Fayeds.
Oh, and worn a seatbelt.

Given his mother's questionable judgement about people (prime examples above), you wonder what she would have said to PH about his wanting to marry MM.

If he does, I think he'll have to accept that there's no way back even for the most private relationship in the forseeable future...and that the US will have to be his forever home! 😯

But H never thinks even one move ahead, does he?

(Incidentally, apparently there was a chess champion with the name Sina Movahead...I'm not joking! H definitely doesn't.)

Mrs D, although, like me, the late Queen had a shocking Resting Bitch Face, that miserable look she had at the wedding wasn't for nothing!

I'm not saying she knew the full horror of the Markles, but she would have seen the stadium-worth number of red flags flying around Meghan: Harry's puppy-like blind devotion, the headlong rush to the altar, the trouble M had caused with staff, tiara-gate (which I'm sure Angela Kelly will elucidate soon), the problems between Meghan and Catherine, the lack of rellies at the wedding, the demands for an even grander wedding, the air freshener request for St G's Chapel etc etc).

Whatever she knew or didn't know at that time, that face certainly predicted the future!

And remember that QE2 had a lifetime of disruption and scandal around the abdication that landed on her shoulders. She also spent decades of her reign micromanaging the shenanigans of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor behind the scenes - all of those similar behaviours, histrionics, drama, chaos, conflict and division seen with H&M must have been a triggering flashback as she had already walked this road and knew where it was going with a narcissist Folie a Deux.

Why did Harry brag about it in Spare?
Why all the stories of drug taking, bad judgement and stupidity?

I agree Diana wasn't always the best judge, but something tells me she would have disliked M on first meeting. Apart from anything else, D needed to be the star - and someone who clearly intended to be front and centre, and was prepared to use sharp elbows to get there, wouldn't have gone down well with Diana. Who knows also how she'd have taken to any women in the life of 'her boys'? She sacked Barbara Barnes for being too popular with them, and was very nasty to Tiggy.

But that's just a guess!

I don't think he's unusually quite. It's not as though he constantly pops up to express his opinion on everything and he doesn't have his own social media. Besides, this thing only broke a few days ago.

I do, however, think that even Harry might realise that this latest episode in the saga is too complex even for him to handle.
