Poor Harry. As if his week hasn’t been bad enough he has now had to watch his brother appearing on the best talk show , holding his own, looking comfortable and relaxed, keeping up with the banter, making half decent jokes, telling stories against himself with humour.

Makes Harry’s attempt at tv chatting seem even more uncomfortable.

Prince William’s official statement following the enquiry by Lord Dyson (who was appointed by the BBC to investigate) stated that it brought him “indescribable sadness” to know that lies presented to his mother contributed to the “fear, paranoia and isolation” that plagued her in the years prior to her death.

He also added that what saddened him most, was that if the BBC had properly investigated the complaints and concerns first raised in 1995, his mother would have known that she had been deceived.

Happy to do that. I was posting to respond to others posters’ comments about it which naturally arose out of a discussion in which some people expressed surprise that William had chosen the BBC as his latest media platform.

I felt obliged to challenge the usual gratuitous Diana bashing!

Incidentally, this thread contains over 470 posts and so far has covered the sovereign grant, the Duchy of Cornwall, Earthshott, Erskine May, our unwritten constitution, William’s teeth, Tiger Woods, speculation about W’s love life, Pippa and Rose Middleton, Irish politics, curtseying, Steve Irwin, and Camilla allegedly wanting to be on reality tv among other things, so so I’m unsure why my posts are deemed more off topic than others 😀!

The Diana interview is something that people still feel really passionate about, and lovely to see people discussing it agreeably , and not meant to be a dig at anyone

Some of the criticisms of the royal family are hilarious. Prince William went on the Graham Norton show for Earthshot and this is apparently a bad thing? Ridiculous.

Correct. A tame, practically sewn-up, pre-recorded interview, with a 40-something privileged man briefed and rehearsed to within an inch of his life. And he got through it without apparent error. Bravo! A King’s ransom for that. Gizza job I could do that.

You must be very young or maybe you’ve lived overseas? Royals have been going on chat shows since chat shows were a thing. If you do some research you’ll find lots of egs.
