Still interested, still not bored….a small request please 🙏…can we try to keep criticism to actions and behaviour and rather than getting personal.😁

I’m still trying to figure out why they’re back. Clearly nothing to do with repairing their relationship with Charles since they haven’t seen him since they returned and didn’t bother to tell him they were coming. They’ve both said several times that they were living their best life in California and would never live in the UK again, so I suppose it must be a somewhat reluctant move that they have been forced to make. So either something dramatic like a debt that they can’t pay, or simply not able to support themselves financially. If Meghan’s business were doing well they would have had no need to change things.

The mystery is how they think being here will help. There don’t seem to be any new income streams, it’s not like Harry has a job or anything. They might get taxpayer funded security (doubt it) but that wouldn’t be enough to make a difference I don’t think.

My conclusion is that through their various events and being spotted with the right people, they are trying to remind everyone how great they were at being working royals, in the hope of being readmitted to the fold. So Meghan setting up pap shots with Malala, Harry at the rugby with his royal ish cousin, similar to William at the football. And some pontificating on ishoos at various charity gigs. If successful, this would give them free accommodation, at least some security, an income and royal adjacency which would help to sell Meghan’s tat. Or she could regretfully but gracefully close down As ever, shame as she was so good at it, but her duty to the country is more important.

I think there was talk in one People article that they thought that A+L would be their way in, that the family would be so desperate to meet them that they would tolerate Meghan. I expect they were also expecting to be wildly popular and that public opinion would help to sway Charles and William. The piss taking over her Malala outfit and the booing at the rugby must have been a bit of a blow. Likewise the complete lack of interest in the children. I wonder how long before they realise that they will never be working royals again, and what plan B might be. “Let us back in or we’ll do another book” I expect 🤔

The royal family absolutely cannot let them back in as if they did we would all know what what they had for dinner the following morning & all the inner workings. They simpy can't be trusted not to sell stories, it's how they made their living.

The Wales children are W&Ks priority they are not going to let their kids be tabloid fodder & a money making scheme for H&M to sell stories about them..

You are so right though why are they here? They are so deepply unpopular & must have some basic self awareness to know they are not welcome.

Thank you. It's interesting this one isn't behind a pay wall. It's funny the articles reporting they won't be invited to Sandringham him for Christmas, that was always a given. The royal family aren't fools & I can't imagine H&M will ever spend Christmas there again.

It was perhaps a given to most of us but I doubt it was a given to HaM .
Obviously I have no inside knowledge but I do think Harry will have been a bit shocked that he had not been welcomed back with open arms . My view is that he assumed his family would want to meet A and L and include them in family events such as Sandringham Christmas.

Looks like they are forcing the 'half in half out' that the Queen expressly said she did not want.
The Grenfell project - has Meghan been in touch at all over the last 8 years or so? Is it something that can just be used when it suits her?
And if they were so concerned about their security then perhaps they shouldn't be detailing what they will be doing?

But can they force it without the permission of KC, they seem to be doing this off their own stream..
Yes exactly they are giving prior notice of where they will be & also where they are exercising & eating. Totally contradicts their narrative that they are very worried for their safety in the UK

Gonners · 11/10/2026 09:29

This (from The Sunday Times article) made me laugh:

"They won’t be having Christmas with the royal family. How could that even work? They know it would be too awkward and too difficult. They also know they’re not going to be invited"

I won't be going for much the same reasons.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 11/10/2026 09:30

They know where their market is and are leaning into it - They are building their royal alternative and the fact that some people are happy to treat them as Royal says a lot
This Is to shore up Harry and the children’s birthright before the king is gone - America said no but disrupters here love them
I really think it says a lot that Harry the pampered prince has anything other than bitterness to offer about U.K. race relations
They are here to divide and take their share -
One thing is very clear they won’t be told no

Prince Harry and Meghan ‘know they’re not invited’ to royal Christmas

"The engagements are expected to form the template for their future public events in the UK. They will be covered by the media and resemble the traditional royal engagements that the couple did before stepping back from official royal life and moving to the US in 2020."

Why will they be covered by the media? I wish the media would ignore them. I think those that are on the "Royal Rota" should be advised not to cover non-Royals if they want to maintain their status on the rota. I know that won't happen, it would be a difficult thing to put into action and bring unwelcome comment on its own, but it really bugs me.

WilliamsExtraSausageAndHarrysExtraWig · 11/10/2026 09:32

The thing is, they create clicks with their chaos. Which is why the tabloids love them.

They must have thought A&L was their path back into the family. I do feel sorry for A&L though, Sandringham looks like such a lovely occassion for any child & to see family they might not see on a regular basis. They only have their parents actions & behaviour to blame though...

So WAC seem to mostly do ‘surprise’ visits now, I’m assuming for security reasons. Whereas HAM are announcing everything still. Doesn’t support their security risk does it.

@MeghanAndTheSeals

I really appreciate and agree with your comments. Thank you for sticking your head up to make this post.

I’m here for the discussion on what HaM actually do and say (or don’t do and say in some cases, their silence is sometimes deafening!).

I’m particularly glad that @MeghanAndTheSeals made this point, which is IMO far too overlooked.

The ‘global thought leaders’ are very silent now on major world affairs pertaining eg to the Middle East (including their personal ‘intentionalities’ around bringing the IDF to Birmingham), and also the Epstein/Andrew scandal that directly affects their family what with Andrew being ‘his father’s brother’. Crickets.

I too am baffled by the great return.

But how would this give them an income?

Charities might pay 'expenses' for a 'visit' but that's not serious money. And Meghan's brand is probably a loss maker anyway, but its got a 'SoCal' theme, so her living in rural England isn't going to help.

I also think being in England will emphasise their lack of royal adjacency even more than being in California. There, they could at least play at being 'American royals'. But back in Britain, living down the road from the rest of the family, most of whom seem to want to have nothing to do with them, with actual royal engagements going on without their involvement, it's just so clear how out of the fold they are.

At the very most they might get some security costs covered, but that in itself is hardly enough to warrant such a drastic move. 'Tis a puzzlement.

TheTwerkingDuchessOfMonteshitshow · 11/10/2026 09:39

@NellyOlsenn

quite honest (humble? realistic?) about the non Christmas invite

I suspect they are hoping people will feel sorry for them.

I was going to say exactly the same thing. The media are perpetuating the idea that they are an alternative court because they know their readers don't agree and it drives traffic from those who want to comment.

I don't see any evidence that the general public care much about what Harry is doing. They aren't particularly hostile just indifferent. It will be instructive to see if this heavy publicising of visits actually results in people turning up to see them.

The bottom line though is still that, regardless of how much attention the what's app group media bestow in them, they are minor royals with little to no influence using charities to raise their own profile. Actual Royals use their profile to support and publicise the charity, not themselves. Therein lies the difference.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/10/2026 09:43

It strikes me that H&M are acting like a dumped partner by all this public strutting around as if they're really royal - 'just look at what you're missing by dumping me.' Except they did the dumping and the RF isn't missing them.

They are playing a dangerous game as they are effectively disregarding KC’s instructions .
It also seems a bit silly to keep announcing their plans when they are - allegedly- so worried about security .
W and C are now only announcing certain plans in advance which seems sensible if anyone has ill intent .

I agree with @MeghanAndTheSeals very eloquent post from overnight.

The reason I have appreciated these threads, and the community here, is the rigorous discussion of behaviour, mixed with humour, while not veering into the attacks on physical characteristics and open misogyny that is seen on other sites.

This change is very recent (just this thread and the last), so I don't think that it is due to the threads now being numbered, given that we have reached number 48 of the numbered threads.

Perhaps if most regular posters feel similarly, we can be very clear in shutting down the type of comment that isn't wanted, rather than changing how the threads are otherwise managed?

Yes I agree with this too. It's been possible to manage moments like excessive criticisms of personal attributes or enquiries about HAM's location or school as we go. We can keep doing that, collectively.

Happy Sunday all! My engagements for today are focused on logistics and chauffeur services for younger Bricks family members (heirs?) as well as animal care. Service is, as ever, universal. 👑

Better start buying that jam so that the profits go to Malala - does the jam actually make any profit?

It's a new way of getting rid of the surplus stock. At least the charity might get a few quid out of it.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 11/10/2026 09:46

It is IMO a mistake to assume that the palace has no further ammunition in the locker they can deploy if the HaMs don't behave themselves.

It's difficult to fathom the stupidity, really. They apparently want the DC to have a relationship with their DGF and then proceed to do all they can to piss that DGF off.

They only create the articles because they know people will click on it and thus it gets them revenue. Manybe people like yourself should stop talking about them and clicking on the articles and when there is no money to be made they will stop creating articles. As it is this thread alone now on no 48 shows there is plenty of interest in them and so the media will continue to feed the people what they want
