Harry: AI is bad.

Also Harry:

Offs.

Thanks, @bluegreygreen for your sterling work on this grifter Harry. He is utterly clueless and disgracefully dishonest.

Good lord. What is going on with that man's socks? He looks like Paul Hollywood's dad. For some reason I always thought Markus would be groomed and stylish, but it seems he also dresses to look like a pig's breakfast. No wonder he's friends with Meghan.

He looks like he has moved in, all settled down in his slippers and sweatpants having a lazy day at home.

Where does Harry fit in to this little coterie Meghan surrounds herself with? He is probably on the outside looking in.

This made me really laugh out loud! Thanks @PigglyWigglyOhYeah 😂

I so, so want to believe that Twerking but…I don’t want to dump trauma on you too..but I remember hearing Simon Weston, a survivor of the attack on (was it ) HMS Sheffield? during the Falklands War. He just got out but he is still haunted by the screams of his burning comrades - mostly young lads. I really hope it was over quickly for them.

And I love history but I’ve never been under any illusions that the past was a terrifying place.

Coffee, I’ve tried 3 times to post a reply but each time I’ve edited it, it’s disappeared and the page has jumped to something else so I’ll keep this short.

I’m not traumatised by the talk of people burning at the stake so don’t worry about it. I’m very interested in life in Colonial India and Sati was such a big part of life in those days it often comes up in the novels I read. Then there was the medical documentary on the BBC a couple of weeks ago that was very informative about full thickness burns. Suffice to say it prompted a discussion with my son in law and I believe him when he says if a person burned to death in the sense of being engulfed in flames there would be very little pain after the not very long initial time frame when your skin is burning. And is it okay if I don’t say anything about Simon and his comrades injuries - it just seems like it was a few years ago, so too soon perhaps.

Anyway, did you know that in times gone by (perhaps even now) Hindu women were taught how to stir the rice pot with their pinky finger to get used to the pain for when they would commit Sati.

Thanks Twerking. Yes, sati is another horror - and ending it was a good move by the British.

I’m sure your son in law knows what he’s talking about, which is some comfort!

Sorry for interrupting all the 'excruciating pain being burned alive' merry chitchat. Carry on.

And I used to get annoyed at the Diana derails!

There must be a more appropriate place to discuss the fate of witches? Surely?

HoldMyWine · 23/09/2026 19:48

Can you take your witch talk somewhere else? Really not interested.

Why is Harry trotting along the streets of NYC?
Wouldn't professional security arrange to drop him by car near to the venue and avoid a pavement trek?

I thought the same myself, @Lunde, but suppose this gave an opportunity for a few more clicks or even snatched photos if anyone had known or cared who he is

Yes, who was it that filmed the clip?

HoldMyWine · 23/09/2026 19:55

Harold’s teleprompter stoped working so he just walked off the stage. Obviously doesn’t know his subject well enough to talk without it. Nobhead.

I was thinking that M must be incredibly bored and frustrated - she's back in the UK, which she hated when she lived here before, but not out in public. And seeing W&C getting all the publicity she'd like for herself must be incredibly galling.

I do wonder if either of them has the intellectual honesty to admit how badly they've cocked things up?

M must surely be someone to whom socialising is like oxygen. If she’s stuck in the country with no one to pay her attention and validate her self-image- she’s not going to be happy. And - if she’s aware that locals might be indifferent or hostile she’s hardly going to venture out anywhere.

I don’t see this working!

It does seem very curious behaviour.

Surely the bright lights and endless sunshine of Cali would be more her arena?

I honestly cannot fathom this move (and then the pretty much immediate jetting straight back for Hazzah for work then quitting on stage half way through)

Make it make sense!*

*Genuine plea. And yes. I'm overthinking it.

Agreed. When I heard they’d returned I was genuinely amazed - I’d imagined all kinds of developments but not this!

Unti this I’d have said they were a very predictable pair.

Out of interest, what's the fee for half a Hazzah talk? If he's booked for a certain topic or set time- full fee? Pro rata?

TheDuchessofTwatt · 23/09/2026 20:17

It occurs to me there may be a silver lining to the Charles Spencer book.
Since it has caused such outrage, and so many inaccuracies are being exposed and discussed, he has lost all credibility . Could it be that this will somewhat put the brakes on any proposed 30 year documentary, especially if it had been planned to be in cahoots with CS, and making use of his extensive family archives, and the possibility of filming at her actual grave?

There were reports that Harry had been putting out feelers among old friends and relations of Diana for contributions. Surely now, only the lowest of the low and most desperate for some sort of publicity or small fee, would agree to have anything to do with it?

I honestly don't see how H&M can go ahead with documentary plans after this, but of course as we so often say on here - just when you think they can't go any lower....

I can only say that I, personally, would pay much more for half a speech by Harry than I would for a whole speech.

Top dollar would be paid for no speech at all.

Are you near the wine shop?

But also, can you imagine the row if a parking warden photographed the royal Harry’s car?

Oh no, not only are they not allowed to use the bus lane, but getting parking tickets too! One can but hope.

A large chunk of air time on R4 was given over to all things Spharkle today.

if Piers' lawyers get their way, the book will literally have its own swan song and be pulped into reincarnation as loo roll.

She probably has a driver and nanny that do the school run.

But yeah - that is a huge glass of wine - must be almost half a bottle!

the resentment at not being top dog

A friend and I were having this discussion last night. A Spencer ancestor of the current earl was a minister under Charles II and James II, and was instrumental in helping William of Orange to the throne and thus the establishment of a Protestant monarchy after 1688. IIRC Diana once said to Charles that if it wasn't for her family his wouldn't be on the throne, and we did speculate that perhaps the Spencers are somewhat resentful that Diana's marriage to Charles didn't put the Spencers on a footing with the monarchy in the way they expected.

I expect they were fuming that Diana was never going to be queen. If CS had any sense he could probably have been a close ally of William’s, but that ship has definitely sailed. It probably cast off a long time ago when CS introduced his mother to Bashir and sent her those awful letters.
