So cruel 😂

But true! Some Kelly person I've never heard of and that Marcus guy I've only heard of because of Meghan.

So basically she's back to where she was a decade ago? Getting photo ops with D listers and small time fixers?

I laughed at that. I'm a bad bad person.

Harry: AI is bad.

Also Harry:

FFS. The man is an idiot.

I was thinking that M must be incredibly bored and frustrated - she's back in the UK, which she hated when she lived here before, but not out in public. And seeing W&C getting all the publicity she'd like for herself must be incredibly galling.

I do wonder if either of them has the intellectual honesty to admit how badly they've cocked things up?

I've seen this before with Meghan - perhaps in 2023?

She is leaving a restaurant with a friend (the friend is in a bright blue top that made it memorable). In fact I'm unsure whether blue top is really a friend or another bodyguard. There is a female bodyguard in a baseball cap walking several metres in front. And there is a Backgrid pap on the road side of the pavement.

Instead of picking her up at the restaurant entrance the (male driver) is waiting 50m or so up the road, forcing her to walk along the pavement and the bodyguard/s don't stand physically close. Meghan walks along smiling and waving and at one point appears to gesture to blue top to step back so the pap gets a clear photo of her.

It all appeared to be a prearranged pap-stroll.

Oh I remember this because of the timing: this was in LA, the morning after Archie and Lilibet were confirmed as becoming Prince and Princess. The blue sweater-wearing lady was a member of her staff. They'd had lunch and it was indeed a pre-arranged pap stroll (the paper who printed the photos said as much).

There are witness testimonies of the Tudie-era burnings he should read, then.

I think I’d prefer listening to him based on the modern day and his experience.

Why isn't Meg in NYC with her fox ?

Because she's got Kelly and Markus over to stay! (sorry, probably a bit bitchy, entirely possible they've come to stay because Harry's away).

So much for the freedom flight to take their places among the A Listers and make their billions.

So he didn’t even bother learning the speech, just went in to read it? Are people paying him for this?

This is absolutely absurd

It's as if Harry expects people to forget about context and just listen to him hypocritically spout whatever he's being paid to say that day. Unfortunately most of us aren't goldfish.

Marmite on crumpets is an abomination! Marmite on toast Yum. But crumpets are a vehicle for the love of butter or sometimes some honey melting in with the butter. But maybe this is proof Meghan gets up to cook their breakfast.

Not relevant to the thread but I need to tell you that both butter and Marmite on a crumpet (yes, at the same time) is the food of the gods 🤘

Or, is this the much-prophesied AI apocalypse.

The bots thought right that's it let's start with that whingey get.

DancingFerret · 23/09/2026 18:41

Sarah Vine on Spencer (apologies if it's already been posted). I thought he looked a bit tanned in the interview, but there's a close-up of him (sorry) and he's clearly wearing a fair amount of slap which hasn't been blended into his natural skin tone. The make-up girl obviously took quite a dislike to him.

British police have no jurisdiction and cannot carry arms outside the country.

So even when the Sussexes were working royals, their protection outside of Britain involved liaising with the local police, such as the RCMP when they were in Canada. That all ended when they found freedom. So even if RAVEC do decide to provide the Sussexes with some form of protection, they're on their own as soon as they leave the country. But given that they've managed fine for years without police protection, I don't think that will be a problem.

Thanks Iced. So even with British security they’d have to pay for their own security in the holidays if they go to the US and for any trips Meghan takes back there.

I think Meghan knew Kelly Zafjen years ago and then reconnected after KZ lost a child and Meghan’s been to events for her foundation she set up after her loss.

Yes, and any security they might get in Britain will be based on threat assessments, so will always be subject to review. They're simply not important enough to qualify for police protection because of 'who they are'.

No idea who this Kelly person is. I guess some D lister of the type Meghan thought it an achievement to meet a decade or so ago. But isn't she a Duchess now? Shouldn't A listers be desperate to be seen with her?

"but at some point in the book you start to think, alright Alexander Hamilton, give it a rest"

Brilliant. A classic of a review.

AlexandraCarrington · 23/09/2026 19:13

From the Guardian review:

At his best, in these passages, Spencer acts as a proxy for the rest of us by registering the absolute lunacy of those days after Diana’s death – by which I mean not the public outpouring, but the behaviour of the royal family, who remained deaf to the nation’s needs until they were forced to change course.

The nation's needs? What about William and Harry's needs?
He doesn't act as a proxy for me. Don't include me in 'the rest of us'.
It was and is bizarre that people who had never met Diana considered they were more important than her young sons.
