I’m just going to add this that I saw on Tattle and it amused me.
“This isn’t just a betrayal, it’s a Markle and Spencer betrayal ! “

Also, a big shout out to the PP who spotted that the As Ever bookmark book was taken from a page about Paris. TwiX is in meltdown because apparently she has highlighted news agents near to the underpass where Diana died.

How grim and macabre is that? So sick. It really makes me wonder how much lower these two can grub around in the mire. Anything for ££££ I guess.

Whoa - it gets worse. Also from TwiX

“Her new bookmark, which reads “Things Can Only Get Better” is photographed inside what appears to be a vintage English-language Paris guidebook.

And not just anywhere in the book.

It’s opened to pages covering Newspapers, Television and Radio in Paris.

So we have:

“Things Can Only Get Better,” a phrase famously associated with 1997

A Paris guidebook, opened to a section about the media.

This is a coded reference to Diana’s death in Paris in 1997.

And all of this landing amid the released of Charles Spencer’s new book.

Given the timing, it’s an interesting set of choices by Meghan, conniving as she is.

“Things Can Only Get Better” → 1997
Paris guidebook → Paris
1997 + Paris → Diana”

Oh joy. It would appear that she has found a new hobby. Leaving Easter eggs. Except this has been a thing for ages and is becoming a bit passé, imo. Late to the party. As Ever

And Harry must be chewing wasps over this footage of the motorbike convoy as W&C depart the movie premiere.

Poor old Harry. Just the one car and straight into a red light 🚦. Wonder how long it took him to get home. Hope someone remembered to pay the congestion charge.

I saw a comment that the big truck following Harry’s car was carrying their grievances 🤣

I’m not understanding the significance of the page the books opened at. In fact it’s all going right over the top of my head. 😊

She’ll never be better at it than Taylor Swift. My friend’s daughter speaks highly of Tay’s Easter egg game.

The bloke with his single security man batting away bemused passersby in New York is going to be in a jealous rage seeing this!

It's still so bizarre to me that he gave up royal life in order to flounce off to California, then come back and attempt a Poundshop version of his old life.

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 23/09/2026 12:36

Meghan is about as discreet as Katie Price.

FallenNight · 23/09/2026 12:36

I clicked on the link to W&C leaving the premier. I am so very jealous of Catherine's access to clothes and jewels. But looking at that, I couldn't think of a worse life to take on. Yes, going to a premier and been pawed by Tom Cruise in a fancy frock and priceless jewels is a dream, but not at the expense of being unable to get a tube home in peace and quiet.

I wouldn't want her life either, for all the jewels and palaces.

Minor royals have the best life. I'd take Zara's life over Kate's any day of the week. Meghan could have had something similar or even better, but her ego won out.

So I've been giving this more thought that it perhaps deserves but their Brangelina portmanteau options:

Spharkles?

Spamkles?

Hamspenkles?

Chazzamegz?

Other ideas welcome.

I haven't rtft because it's basically a full time job. I might attempt it later at the expense of actual reading I could be doing.

They are walking wrong for NYC. You stay to the right, single file, so that faster walkers can pass on the left. Watching the video, it was clear that they were from out of town. The guy in the red looked like he was trying to pass on the left.

Walked around NYC a lot back in the day and never heard of that rule so every day is a school day

That said I suspect (if there's paranoia at play) there might, perhaps, be good reason for the CP possibly wanting H on the building side of the pavement sidewalk, regardless of relative speeds.

AlexandraCarrington · 23/09/2026 12:50

And Harry must be chewing wasps over this footage of the motorbike convoy as W&C depart the movie premiere.

I love the motorcycle outriders since I watched them escorting the late Queen from Northolt to BP. Some of them were always swooping ahead to close slip roads just in time, and it was all so smooth and well coordinated

Thedom · 23/09/2026 12:51

Actually the mention of Paul
Burrell has reminded me, where is he ? He is usually doing the rounds of the chat shows at times like this.

its the one time I would like to hear what he has to say !

I've watched the queen's cortege to BP on youtube a few times, and the outriders in front of the hearse never once break formation or speed all the way from Northolt. They (and they driver of the hearse) were incredibly professional and disciplined.

BemusedAmerican · 23/09/2026 12:53

That is why my friends and I stay out of midtown. I cannot tell you how many rants I've heard about tourists blocking the sidewalks while the locals try to walk around them.

That is an edited version.

The actual picture from As ever is attached. There is no music. The bookmark says 'Only gets better'. The addresses are divided into Newsagents and Nightclubs.

Like the Tube in London. Stand on the right on escalators, unless you want everyone to know you're a tourist or a country bumpkin.

OTOH, anyone who has ever used the Tube will automatically fall into single file and stand on the right on any escalator anywhere.

Not in Australia. It's stand on the left. And if you're taking the riverbus in Brisbane, it's tap in and out. I said to the attendant that I don't do that in London and he looked at me and said 'you're not in London, love.'

OK, fair point.

Well if she was trying to be really cryptic, op ring it at Newsagents suggests the press. And only gets better definitively sounds like a reference to Brian Cox and his band (😂). I still think it’s lame and try too hard though

Changed word that was auto corrected

ETA when you take it in conjunction with the swan, it all seems to be suggesting Diana. Plugging their own documentary that doesn’t even exist yet 🙄

Typical Harry to assume someone just casually walking down the street was a threat that needed his bodyguard’s intervention.
The neck of the guy, giving a passing random minding their own business a shove.

Reminds me of M at Wimbledon assuming someone was taking a photo of her because obviously nobody could prefer tennis over her wonderful self.

Being paid to keep quiet perhaps, Thedom?

It's entirely possible that he kept possession of the Diana/George Smith rape tapes, and regardless of Smith's later retraction I've always thought his ghastly smirk carries a suggestion of "You can't touch me and you know it" - as already shown in the late Queen's intervention during his trial

Come to that (and forgive the derail) where's Fawcett himself now?
He's only 63 and is presumably supporting himself somehow, but any search brings up precisely nothing after his third resignation, which some might find surprising for someone who was once so often reported
