It also seems like Diana was happy to use untruths to make someone look bad in her letters. She was always falling out with people, so I’m sure just let off steam in her private correspondence.

How would she know that her brother would put them in a book without any proper checking. Fucking edjit. Some historian he’s turned out to be 🤣🤣

Absolutely, what a betrayal. One of Spencer's worst claims was that after her death, Harry was ignored, but William was older and ok.
Just so unbelievably manipulative and nasty.

I think the editors should have a look at themselves. Charles hates the RF, I’m guessing he didn’t do as well out of the connection as he felt he should, and can’t see that’s down to him just being a shit rather than the fault of the RF.

They must have realised fairly quickly he just had an axe to grind and should have looked for some supporting evidence, as they’re stuck with the consequences too

Apparently the top bods at PenguinRH are having an emergency meeting this morning. It must be panic stations there today. Thoughts and prayers for their publicity department.

Swan Song is an apt title. I doubt anyone will publish a book of CSpencer’s again.

CS also called Diana manipulative and deceitful in letters that were produced at the Paul Burrell trial over 20 years ago.

They had very little contact in her final years.

She knew a bad apple when she saw one!! He’s a bloody disgrace

I’m wondering why they did it at all after “Spare”. Just a thought, this hasn’t some how ended up
as part of the Sussexes book deal, has it? 🤔

Give it time. They gruesome pair will be out in force soon

Lol yes, no doubt she's fuming at all the pictures of Catherine looking fabulous with Tom Cruise, all over the media today 😁

I don't see that they've got any choice but to pull the book, at least to remove the incorrect PM details both the incorrect statement that he was editor and the allegations of his attitude on the call given PMs statement that he has a contemporaries note of the call. I know they have styled out The Salt Path issues but this is a different scenario where they have the ability to limit the damage at an early stage.

They'd be mad to continue.

I'm still chuckling about Spencer Morgans comment!

Lol and me. I remember at Burghley horse trials early 90's mark Phillips pushed my friend on the stairs to barge past her. I gave him a massive shove and he fell over, he went absolutely purple with rage, I glared at him and said very loudly 'manners of a pig' everyone turned round to look 😂😂 honestly twat men are a bloody nuisance.

They are walking wrong for NYC. You stay to the right, single file, so that faster walkers can pass on the left. Watching the video, it was clear that they were from out of town. The guy in the red looked like he was trying to pass on the left.

Also, a big shout out to the PP who spotted that the As Ever bookmark book was taken from a page about Paris. TwiX is in meltdown because apparently she has highlighted news agents near to the underpass where Diana died.

If true, how very tedious. It’s like the sudden use of the swan emoji a few days ago when posting about As Ever bundled sets. Yes Meghan, we see you. We see that you think these easter eggs are very clever.

Personally I think this, like her many hints that she was dating Prince Harry before the news was abruptly leaked by someone, just underscore that - despite what her many fans say - she was always wholly unsuited to a life as a royal family representative.

I can elevate your crumpets even further if you are willing to trust me. A LOT of butter is clearly the starting point. But then some very ripe room temperature Pie d'Angloys on top, quickly while there is still enough heat in the crumpet to get ultimate oozy goo.

Sprinkles of chutney optional. Best saved for Sunday night supper in front of the fire with a glass of red, rather than a breakfast crumpet.

I trust you, totally. That sounds transcendent.

Tom Cruise walking our Catherine down the stairs holding her hand will have hit jealous Markle hard!

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 23/09/2026 12:00

I wonder if Penguin are panicking and wondering, given the things he's said that have already emerged as (choosing my words carefully here) not based on fact, what else and who else is there to worry about.

Also wondering if anyone did any editing and fact checking at all, or was it 'Well, he's Earl Spencer and Diana's brother, there's no need.'

Honestly, you think 'well, it can't get any tackier, can it?' and then they go and prove you wrong.

Sorry to derail for a moment.

And Harry must be chewing wasps over this footage of the motorbike convoy as W&C depart the movie premiere.

Poor old Harry. Just the one car and straight into a red light 🚦. Wonder how long it took him to get home. Hope someone remembered to pay the congestion charge.

Why were there 6 cameras in a classroom? I don't get the impression when the working royals visits schools they have more than 1 still and 1 video camera present. I coughs be wrong but 6 is more like filming a drama than making a visit.

Re the book. If you are writing something you know us going to cause contraversy, surely it's common sense to make sure your facts are correct?

"Re the book. If you are writing something you know us going to cause contraversy, surely it's common sense to make sure your facts are correct?"

It'll be interesting to see Spencer's Acknowledgements in the book, if he included any, but in his People interview he said that no one knew he was writing the book other than his current wife and his publisher. He didn't even tell his sisters, and he admits they are probably hurt by this.

So, he probably didn't have a research assistant to check things for him or look things up. No one who knew Diana or who was around at the time read any of the drafts - his sisters would have been perfect for that task. No one gave him recommendations about perhaps toning a section down or maybe checking some things because they don't quite sound right. He obviously thinks he's infallible and that everything he says is right.

Typical Harry to assume someone just casually walking down the street was a threat that needed his bodyguard’s intervention.
The neck of the guy, giving a passing random minding their own business a shove.

WilliamsExtraSausage · 23/09/2026 12:15

Whoa - it gets worse. Also from TwiX

“Her new bookmark, which reads “Things Can Only Get Better” is photographed inside what appears to be a vintage English-language Paris guidebook.

And not just anywhere in the book.

It’s opened to pages covering Newspapers, Television and Radio in Paris.

So we have:

“Things Can Only Get Better,” a phrase famously associated with 1997

A Paris guidebook, opened to a section about the media.

This is a coded reference to Diana’s death in Paris in 1997.

And all of this landing amid the released of Charles Spencer’s new book.

Given the timing, it’s an interesting set of choices by Meghan, conniving as she is.

“Things Can Only Get Better” → 1997
Paris guidebook → Paris
1997 + Paris → Diana”
