Yes, he's certainly got an inflated view of his own importance.

Perhaps people were dancing in the streets…….

Who the heck knows what he thought or imagined? but 'I'll be the uncle to the monarch after Charles' is a bit of a head turner, and as a 'historian' (inverted commas deliberate) he'd know about the power royal uncles have exercised over the centuries (usually disastrously for the uncles, it has to be said).

But he still will be uncle to the monarch, so it would seem he has shot himself squarely in the foot wrt to that one if he expected William to give him his ear 🤔

tense fail

Why were there 6 cameras in a classroom? I don't get the impression when the working royals visits schools they have more than 1 still and 1 video camera present. I coughs be wrong but 6 is more like filming a drama than making a visit.

Re the book. If you are writing something you know us going to cause contraversy, surely it's common sense to make sure your facts are correct?

Yes, usually for sensitive royal visits like ones to hospitals or schools they take one photographer and one reporter, and the resulting information is shared with the rest of the royal rota.

(I've heard Rebecca English describing this.)

After strolling around the board for the last few days, it has occurred to me that all this “activity “ seemed very familiar…..this book really is spare 2!
so @PleasantGreenPorcupine…any quip or comment made about one really seems to apply to the other too!

So now it is being discussed that apparently Diana told CS more unsubstantiated gossip anecdotes about Prince Charles sticking out ears, apparently Phillip blocked him having them operated on, and to drive the point home had an ear operation done on one of the corgis to prank the Queen and Charles.

Honestly this is the most outrageous rubbish ever. Can you imagine the Queen if someone did something like that to one of her corgis??

I've obviously paraphrased, so listen to the news presenter for the full story.

So, H is in NYC, Catherine is Queen-in-Waiting-It in purple - meanwhile Meghan has a new bookmark.

Why the need for the pages to be blurred?

Well duchess , I expect any moment that Spencer will no doubt inform us that there is as much truth in his memories as there is in established facts!

Meghan is selling bookmarks? Is this a departure from flower sprinkles and fruit spread?
How interesting that it's a book about Paris. I'm surprised she didn't use the swan emoji again.

I wondered yesterday if their children's Marmite on crumpets, which allegedly they love, come with sprinkles, to elevate them above mere Warbies? Maybe Meg will be the next Warbies' celebrity, I could just see her driving one of their huge wagons round the streets of Bolton!

Marmite on crumpets is an abomination! Marmite on toast Yum. But crumpets are a vehicle for the love of butter or sometimes some honey melting in with the butter. But maybe this is proof Meghan gets up to cook their breakfast.

Here’s the full video. The security guy - recognise him? - is batting people away.

They are walking along at a hell of a pace. I hope the guy has a good cardio record.

I rather fancy the guy.

Mylovelygreendress · 23/09/2026 10:29

I wonder how many are in their security team ? I imagine H has at least 2 with him , M will have a couple to carry her shopping and no doubt there are a couple lurking around the school .
And yet no one seems bothered 🤷‍♀️

I can elevate your crumpets even further if you are willing to trust me. A LOT of butter is clearly the starting point. But then some very ripe room temperature Pie d'Angloys on top, quickly while there is still enough heat in the crumpet to get ultimate oozy goo.

Sprinkles of chutney optional. Best saved for Sunday night supper in front of the fire with a glass of red, rather than a breakfast crumpet.

I would bet my bungalow that Prince Philip would never do such a thing and the Queen, who famously adored her dogs and horses, would never countenance such a horror.

Plus where would they find a vet prepared to carry out surgery on a poor animal for a “prank”?
Utter bollocks.

Diana employed her own psychics to guide her decision making, mostly famously Simone Simmons.

She also employed a clairvoyant called Madame Vasso.

Vasso “worked” for Sarah Ferguson too at the time Diana and SF were still friends prior to verrucagate.

(Vasso even wrote about a book about Fergie for anyone interested in drivel)

This tells me all I need to know about Diana’s grip on reality.

She was a beautiful and charismatic woman who died tragically young but she was very impulsive and frequently very misguided.

Had she not died young and had not been so attractive she would be seen for what she was instead on being canonised.

Aliscent · 23/09/2026 10:46

So what are these 2 up to right now? Meghan must be absolutely bored with her lonely, countryside life here. I cannot imagine she will last long.

PleasantGreenPorcupine · 23/09/2026 10:49

It's not like she had a great social whirl in California either. And Montecito is kind of a small town too, albeit a very wealthy one.

That said, California is her 'comfort zone' and I agree she'll likely be back pretty soon. It seems incredibly extravagant of them to keep that house if nobody is living there.

It's interesting that you say that, because I did find a couple of inaccuracies in the CW book, which I put down to the use of source material (he's not particularly strong on that).

I've read it too and assumed that he applied the title retrospectively for clarity. Most readers would understand who Edward the Confessor; plain Edward, not so much.

On the plus side, I was just thinking how nice it's been not to be bombarded with photos of Markle strutting around some pointless, fake-royal occasion, dressed in one of her ridiculous outfits and clinging onto Haz for dear life!

I’m trying to keep an open mind….however if I’m honest i wasn’t particularly a Diana fan ( thought she was manipulative) …..but I have always disliked Spencer….awful man who due to the sexism of the aristocracy gained everything yet still wanted to use his sister’s status to gain more …and that is before we get into his disgusting treatment of women….🤷‍♀️

CS also called Diana manipulative and deceitful in letters that were produced at the Paul Burrell trial over 20 years ago.

They had very little contact in her final years.

They famously fell out. I doubt she'd be pleased at how he's monetising their relationship.

KCitsweyourHammiewevecomehomenow · 23/09/2026 11:17

It also seems like Diana was happy to use untruths to make someone look bad in her letters. She was always falling out with people, so I’m sure just let off steam in her private correspondence.

How would she know that her brother would put them in a book without any proper checking. Fucking edjit. Some historian he’s turned out to be 🤣🤣
