A new thread and book not even published till Tuesday. I checked on Amazon and its only 12th on the non fiction bestseller list. Doesn't show Earl Spencer in a very good light imho.

Have CS sisters made any comment about the book yet. I wonder did he send them an advance copy of the book as they must feature heavily in it, ditto William.

No, they haven't.

That whole network of relationships is fascinating. Sarah McCorquodale (sorry - spelling is bound to be wrong) dated Charles in her youth and Jane Fellowes was married to the Queen's Private Secretary throughout the War of the Wales etc. Goodness knows what family relationships were like during Diana's marriage. But they just are/were a dysfunctional lot - like a lot of aristocratic families of that era.

And brother Charles, of course...

I have .
I’ve started several in the more pleasant environment of AIBU and will do again.

Against my better judgement I have responded to inaccuracies and repetition of Windsor PR on here .
And as far I’m aware posters are free to post where they please.

So that went well, did it?

You clearly feel strongly and I'm puzzled why you exert so much time and energy telling people off on MN when you need to be actively campaigning in areas where you might influence things the way you would wish.

I'm on here because this book, with its family intrigues etc, interests me. It's not a serious political matter - for my serious concerns I do things in the community.

Whataboutery:- I am just wondering how much difference it would have made to the sales of the book if CS had said that he and CW had a row on the phone and that one of them - was it CS?- put the phone down because he didn't like CW's attitude or words, without further detail.
However, I suppose the book sales aren't the only reason for writing the book, so inflammatory remarks are perhaps just the name of the game.

People have said 'Oh, he's a proper journalist - he's kept accurate records, so he must be right!'

I don't know how right he is, but anyone who takes notes and hoards them for 30 years to write a nasty take-down of their hated BIL when he's terminally ill....that's a seriously unpleasant person, journalist or not.

Didn't he tell LK that he hadn't taken notes?

I don’t know what you mean by went well .

If you mean the response to the AIBU yes the majority agreed with me on both occasions ( yes I know I don’t care for polls - I thought until recently that you had to put up a poll)

Not that I have to explain myself to you but I’ve been here more recently due to this latest scandal . I’m not on daily unlike many in this section - have you questioned those posters?

I post on my phone in between doing other things - like everyone here I’m sure . I’m hardly hunched over my laptop all day

I consider covering up for and defending pedophiles rather worse than ‘unpleasant ‘

Lets remind ourselves of Charles’s defence of Peter ball in addition to covering up and paying for Andrew .

In that case, M'Lud, I think I'd be probing on the point of the reliability of memory over 3 decades!

I bet he kept some sort of notes or diary - it's just a journalistic habit. And I think famous people do that because they expect to write their memoirs. I'd be really surprised if he hadn't. Very surprised!

Who knows what the truth is.

Jane Fellowes and her family lived in one of the houses at Kensington Palace so was around closely even in the periods where she and Diana weren’t talking.
