👏 👏👏 at that letter! Buckingham Palace communications at its best!

I'm really glad KC has done this, it was about time. And very well done that it’s clear the communication is from KC / BP and NOT HAM although it’s been “shared with them” - brilliant!

I’m interested to see whether they clap back with a “service is universal” type comment.

It’ll be something like “I can’t help that I was born this way. I didn’t ask for this.”

What about H's role as "Prince of England?

He's not a Prince of England . . . .

He's A VERY NAUGHTY BOY . . . .

Mylovelygreendress · Today 16:36

My DH has no interest in the RF but wondered why I was getting excited so I told him to read the statement and his response was “ final warning or the titles go” .
He may have a point ( not that I will tell him!)

I wonder if it is partly in response to what Harry briefed out about Remembrance Sunday.

What did he brief about Remembrance Sunday? Was it to tell us all whose rack he will be ogling this year?

Charcuterie board, surely?!

If he dares to try and snap back at the king then he knows that the very narrow possibility of being welcomed back into the family is gone forever and he may as well pack up his wife and kids and go back to California.

The only reason he came back to the UK was to try and establish himself back into the fold and get his feet under the table before William ascends the throne and starts issuing letters patent removing titles.

MrsLeonFarrell · Today 16:34

Yes I agree. Whilst they were resident in the US I suspect it was felt that there was clear water between them and working royals. The move back to the UK, Harry's statements after he had lost court cases and the way they have been briefing has obviously been the final straw for the palace.

It shows how delusional the "sources" who kept diminishing William and aCatherine were

Yes my thoughts too Mrsleon .

The Swedish royalty magazine - Svensk Dam Tidning - are reporting that Prince William and Princess Anne will represent the King at the funeral of King Harald of Norway on Wednesday.

I think this will mean that William misses Prince George's first day at Eton - although theoretically it could perhaps be done.

I think George's year - the new boys - start on Tuesday 8 September (tomorrow), with an induction day. So, William should be able to drop George off at his new school.

BemusedAmerican · Today 16:38

Yes, I really think NYC should build a proper cricket stadium. They had a temporary one in Nassau County but took it down.

I love this and I totally agree @Mylovelygreendress This reads like a terse final warning.

That's my thought too but we most likely have worked with colleagues like this. Constant warnings, then employment terminated

They snapped back at the Queen didn’t they?

Wonder if something about the Sussex kids starting school will be accidentally on purpose released on Wednesday too.

William will be in Norway for the royal funeral, if I am not mistaken.

Yes my thoughts too Mrsleon .

Agreed...this is an absolute smack down from the palace who are no doubt horrified by the nonsense that the Sussex pair have been leaking.

KatherineParr · Today 16:41

The really interesting line for me is "recourse to public funds". What is going on that requires BP to essentially say don't spend any public money on H&M without checking with us first?

I think he has made a very good point.

Justdancevance · Today 16:41

It’s a very clear message. There is no softening of the message with wishing them well and it’s clear that trey only represent themselves.

I think the abeyance point is interesting as it makes me think it’s a ‘use it and you’ll lose it’ warning shot.

JoanChitty · Today 16:41

Do we think that strong feminist icon Meghan Markle threw herself on the ground sobbing inconsolably at the reading of the letter?

Agree, @MrsLeonFarrell.

I have argued here and elsewhere that there was no evidence of any separation between KC3 and William, and that all talk of division was merely spin. I think this confirms it.

damnatiomemoriae · Today 16:42

That letter is as perfectly worded as ‘recollections may vary’.

If H&M try to spin it as ‘we are clearly a threat’? More fool them.

They've been told. And that includes told to be winding their necks in.

KC has spoken.

Or "stop sending invoices to BP, they're self funding"
