It’s us British tax payers funding their security at their new home that I find particularly utterly obscene.

Me too. How dare they?

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · Today 20:18

I am totally naive. I believe the line that KC didn't know about the move in advance. I also don't believe he has been involved financially with this move. I like KC and don't see him as the wimpy pushover that some others on this thread do.

I have no evidence for any of this, other than having a soft spot for KC. I think he's a kind man, and I really don't think he's a stupid man.

Has that been confirmed?

I am a fully paid up member of the 'Can't stand H &M society' but I do think we need to take a deep breath and not get carried away until we know for sure there's something to get carried away about.

I totally agree but do we actually know this for a fact or is it still just speculation

Recklessismymiddlename · Today 20:26

I’d say it’s all speculation isn’t it? None of us are going to actually know, unless we are one of the parties privy to the negotiations or MIG or Sussexes PR or whatever!

Yes, of course it's speculation so why are people getting pissed off about it?

Cismyfatarse · Today 20:30

Sorry. Wrong thread for the newspaper article. Agh!!

I should have been clearer, Harry lobbying our Home Secretary for tax payers to fund his security, we don’t know if they will get it or not but the spin from government ministers pushing for it leaves the impression it just needs signing off.

If its the school that is being hinted at, it looks like a good choice, but the uniform is awful!

AcrossthePond55 · Today 20:33

DandyAF · Today 18:35

OK I've worked out that school from the article.
Don't feel quite right about sharing it but it's very easy to work out.

Even I figured it out with a simple 5 word google!

What’s in it for Meghan?

Quite honestly if the actors I saw in one of their live productions in the summer were anything to go by there’s none of them would win a prize for their acting.

Dunno. Blunkett and Thornberry are ex ministers and Thornberry definitely has an axe to grind. She’s a troublemaker.

Would it combine a stream and a children's toy, not necessarily in that order?

That what I read on another site a week ago

BigWillyLittleTodger · Today 20:36

Lifestooshort71 · Today 20:30

Yes, of course it's speculation so why are people getting pissed off about it?

Harry whining about security for years and taking the government to court after being told no and then lobbying the two Home Secretaries is enough to piss anyone off.

A house on a long lease sounds credible to me. As far as I recall , only Gatcombe remains as an outright purchase. & that is , arguably , different in that PA has made a going concern of it as a farm. The blindsiding I am in two minds about. One the one hand I can imagine H posited this (the return as an idea - children at school UK etc ) , on the other hand I don't believe BP sources would out right lie about KC not knowing definitely until last weekend ( colour me naive , colour me naive 😊) . But I could buy into the late wedding present , replaces Frogmore cottage if you're here for the foreseeable idea. Anyway £10m+ would buy a very beautiful and sprawling estate in the Cotswolds - and would knock the faux chateau into a cocked hat I'd venture.

I think they learned their lesson after South York (Sunninghill Park) where the gift was sold for hard cash

He’s a kind man but a shocking judge of character. He’s also a ditherer.

Of course, he could be playing the long game and he has managed H perfectly well to date, but a lot of it has been by just avoiding the issue. It’s going to be a lot harder to keep H and MM at bay now they are mere miles away from his beloved Highgrove.

BasiliskStare · Today 20:42

I don't live in the Cotswolds but I know people who do. Even I could have come up with a short list. H wrote to IPSO to ask them not to publish the school's name. They are already signed up to this - there was no reason for him to ask. I really do hope those signed up with the regulator do not reveal it. I reckon H will be looking for this like Pizza delivery drivers out of the back windscreen.

Kirschcherries · Today 20:43

BasiliskStare · Today 19:08

If they've actually bought somewhere then they have been planning this for a while. It wouldn't surprise me if KC has dipped into his pocket for a house - HLMTQ did for all her children. Or rumours of them running out of money are greatly exaggerated.
I hope newspapers will not reveal the school or the house. I reckon H is itching for one of them to so he can get on his dragonlslaying horse again. But it will probably leak out in time, not I hope via the MSM ,but because with any set of friends / community can it be certain that something may accidentally be said and the internet is a big place.

I agree about the media not revealing the address and school. I hope H & M really do try to live privately as that would be best for everyone including A & L.

WRT security my view is RAVEC are the experts and should decide with no lobbying from anyone. If security is needed based on risk, then like other RAVEC security it should be provided by the tax payer.

Isn’t it simply that labour is anti monarchy so openly supporting H&M is part of stirring that pot

I agree with you but do see his weakness in parenting has led to a lot of these outcomes with Harry.

But I don’t think KC is paying for anything or is involved in any project to rehabilitate Harry.

I mean Ophelia in Hamlet, surely

I’m thinking Morticia from the Adam’s Family.

Genuine question, in what way does he show kindness?
