Would anyone like to make a prediction of what happens next for Harry and Meghan if they return to the UK?

Why did they need to take a "freedom flight"? I thought it was all too unbearable.

Boy, I'd love to see an interview where someone grilled them about all their silly dramas, accusations and lies.

It would be marvellously entertaining.

Clearly H has an agenda to make sure the children are recognised as royal,

How will he achieve that? They won't be seen at the big royal events like the Wales children are.

Want to bet? Suddenly they will be on the Christmas Morning walk, or onto the balcony for some royal wedding, in an official photos of His Maj and the grandkids etc etc

I agree this is the grey area which puts KC3, W&C between a rock and a hard place. OK to cut them all out of WRF events - but how can you exclude 2 innocent children, grandchildren from public facing family events - such as Sandringham Christmas Walk and Catherine’s Christmas Concert when every cousin and IL with all their little children are included and paraded around in public? Would also require H&M to to do the big reveal of their faces but as we know the most consistent characteristic they have is hypocrisy.

HelenaWilson · 25/08/2026 14:26

The 'innocent children' won't know any different. Not all of them are there every year anyway.

I said before, don't know if it was in this thread, that I don't think the Sandringham church walk would be an appropriate occasion for H&M to join in and to introduce the children to the public. Not this year, anyway. It would turn a celebration of a religious festival into a media bunfight, with everyone scrutinizing everyone's body language and facial expressions and trying to lipread what they were saying. Catherine especially would be the focus of attention, but if the Waleses weren't there, there'd be talk of 'skin's and 'feuds'.

Princessfluffy · 25/08/2026 15:06

The kids will probably be made to wear masks anyhow, the emoji ones with big heart eyes

They'd never allow that.

Perhaps they need to pre-empt that then with A&L invited to Catherine’s Christmas Concert where all the cousins and ILs and their respective young children are invited.

I hope William has a nice new scarf to fiddle with on the Christmas walk.

No, you’re right. But I can dream!

On the subject of the HAMs going to Sandringham church at Christmas, I’d say a deafening “No way!’

a) I don’t see any reason from the RF’s pov that they’d be invited
b) it’s not the kind of royal event M likes: boring, unglamorous, dress code, dull, provincial, suburban and maybe old folk present- not her bag,
c) and most importantly, the sort of hardcore royal followers who go to watch are NOT HAM fans.

It's not going to happen. No one is going to allow them to grandstand like that

ComputerBleaker · 25/08/2026 15:38

It has been 6 years, people mellow over 6 years and maybe Kate and Meghan don't want to keep this situation going indefinitely.

Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of posh people drama 😛 but maybe they've all emotionally matured a bit and recognised how insanely privileged they all are compared to the rest of the world?

Especially with Charles possibly not having much time left.

I'd actually like to see Kate and Meghan randomly turning up at Wimbledon together in matching outfits like they used to, to confound everyone. Kate handing Meghan her lip gloss 😉

They could literally win the PR war there and then.

Maybe they're sitting like this planning their surprise appearance to go back to dominating us plebs and serfs.

Don't mention Lipgloss. 😱

If they actually had a sense of humour and didn't take themselves too seriously, they could really win some popularity back for the RF!

Yes, sadly they have neither attribute.

CoffeeCantata · 25/08/2026 16:04

I’m just a suburban nobody with no public profile. But if anyone called me a racist in front of even a few friends or family, I would not forgive them.

But Meghan and H labelled Catherine (and Charles) racists I front of the whole world and they DO have to go out there and perform in the public arena. I don’t see Catherine ever wanting to be in the same room as them ag, especially with no retraction or apology.

My prediction: Mumsnet royalists will explode.

Oh wait, they have already.

Bet all those cameras & subsequent publicity would be though.

If they don't go to Sandringham whats the betting they attend a different church service in some distant backwater somewhere but half the countries paps just happen to know that's where they'll be and as if by magic, theres your Boxing Day front pages.

A bit like that stupid private (with photographer in tow) wreath laying visit to a cemetery on Armistice day when H had been told he wouldn't be allowed to partake in the London one with all the actual, working royal's.

Also, what H&M don't understand (yes, yet more) is that the RF lay wreaths on behalf of the service branch they officially represent. They don't lay it on behalf of themselves.
Only the politicians and the monarch does that.

HelenaWilson · 25/08/2026 16:34

The monarch, as Head of State, lays the wreath on behalf of the nation. Politicians do it on behalf of the government.

msellieshomie · 25/08/2026 17:03

It's hilarious that Harry doesn't seem to understand royal protocol. But if Meghan found the citizenship test hard they are well matched. It was so easy and I had to do it sleep deprived with a new born baby. Was fun practising for it while breastfeeding.

Thing is, the monarchy is not IACGMOOH strictly or love island.

What 'situation'?

Kate barely knows Meghan and as far as I know, has never once uttered her name in public.

Do you feel any sort of commitment to the wife of your husband's brother?

I can see what Meghan would have to gain by cultivating a relationship with Kate, though she should have thought about that before trying to paint her as an uptight racist snob in front of the whole world. But I can't see a thing Kate would have to gain from being friends with Meghan. Quite the opposite.

Yes. I suppose that was my point.
Harry is the only person laying it on behalf of himself.

A few bland statements.

The first making it clear that H&M need to rebuild trust before they get anywhere near family events. It can be phrased diplomatically.

The next - again, bland and diplomatic - stating that the hamlets haven't been invited to <this-and-that> out of consideration for their tender age and unaccustomedness to being in the public eye.

d) completely unfair on the rest of the family, especially W&C and Camilla, to ask that they suck up 7 years' worth of insults.
