Are you in America? I like America. I think Meghan should be where she is wanted and extremely popular, so she has the whole world inside of her.

The whole world inside her?

That doesn't sound hygienic

I think Guy Ritchie is a sort of film director. No idea on the others.

Isn't he Madonna ex husband? 🤔🤣

Apologies. I mean onside her. It autocorrects to inside her.

I couldn’t care less but I’m amazed at how many people don’t know who Tina Brown is!

I'vd never heard of Tina Brown. And I got Guy Ritchie mixed up with Shane Ritche.

@Viviennemary She moved to the US decades ago so perhaps she's more well-known here. I think you also need to be a certain age to be aware of her as she's in her 70's (I'm a certain age :-).

Sky news said this evening the move might be temporary. Wouldnt be surprised if they don't come at all Imho. Andrew Morton said he's only coming here because he owes all that money. Well there's a surprise.

On the news this morning it’s saying how they’ll likely get some tax payers money paid security! I wonder whether Hazza has made the potential move just to get paid security so they can ‘elevate’ themselves … he’ll be fighting for IPP status I’m sure … let’s hope that’s not given!
one thing that I recall from the days when they moved to Canada was the uproar about these security officers being taken away from their families, the huge cost, and the rumours that H&M were sending the security officers out to buy them coffees etc …. If they’re given this expensive privilege then I hope they’re not allowed to abuse it

I've also never heard of Tina Brown.

Those that know about her-is she likely to be correct that a part was offered & then unoffered?

Is it more likely that there was no part/Meghan's people approached someone?

Tina Brown was the very well-connected editor of Vanity Fair for decades. Her late husband was editor of The Sunday Times. They know everyone. She has also written a couple of excellent books on the royals, particularly the one about Diana (who she knew moderately well).
I think Tina has excellent sources, and I'm inclined to believe her.

Well if it's all true then it really does hammer home the public unpopularity & that it has sway!

The monarchy ought to realise this too, albeit I predict Hazmat has decided to move home and there will be a split in the not too distant fiture as Megain will hate her positioning in the RF and with the UK generally being very negative about her

If they really weren't happy here before, why would they be this time?

What's changed?

She does have excellent sources and connections, but she's also very typical of royal pundits, especially those who have written books on the subject, when it comes to speculating on what is actually going on behind the scenes.

For those that don't know her she's a slightly more academic version of Anna Wintour - they are both British magazine editors who dominated the Conde Nast media empire - sort of friends but at the same time huge rivals. Very prominent and powerful in the elite New York social scene in the 80s and 90s.

Both very brilliant women in their fields.

They whined that they weren't important enough. I remember a weird scene on the balcony when Meghan tried to push to the front to be near the Queen but was more or less physically manoevred away by Princess Anne. It might have been the Jubilee. And once Kate wore a huge hat and Meghan could hardly be seen behind it. Ouch!

Good, I really hoped she wouldn't be cast. If she was I certainly wouldn't be watching it anymore. It would be the death warrant for the show

Why on earth would you not want someone whom you do not know to not get a job that doesn’t impinge on you in any way at all anyway?

If Meghan was able to work, at least she would be earning her own money. If she didn’t get the job because of the press furore surrounding her, then I think that’s a great shame.

She is criticised for playing at being an aristocrat but then people are pleased when she can’t work. She really can’t win.

This is a funny thread. Even I know Tina Brown and Guy Ritchie.

Maybe it’s the thought of having to listen to the voice that launched a thousand lies?

I find certain people’s voices grating when I know that they spout lies and/or behave abysmally in real life. Harry Mountbatten-Windsor, for example. That other ‘royal’, AMW. Nigel Farage. Nicola Sturgeon. It’s a pretty normal human reaction.
