Have Harry and Meghan announced their children’s school choice yet?

Has HAMs school choice been announced yet? Moneys not on Lambrook!
Would parents of said school need to be informed? Or because they are no longer working royals would they not need to announce?
Will they go state or private? Can they afford the top private schools now? I gather the state won't pay for their kids education?

I seem to recall a lot of parents at Lambrook were not pleased when William's children moved there because there would be security issues and enormous public attention.

I totally get that, not that I move in such circles!

Madamefroufrou · 22/08/2026 21:48

if they are in the Cotswolds, then the children will be at Westonbirt? yes, no?

Rent free in one of the estate houses?

one which was denied to a desperate Diana?

Temporaryanonymity · 22/08/2026 21:52

My kids have cousins at Westonbirt. Not heard anything…

They also cut down at least one lovely tree to create a back way in for the Royals.

But the Wales's have played it very low-key.

I think Bedales too. There were minor royals there before I think. Certainly lots of showbiz offspring.
The only problem is security - weirdly you can walk right through it. No one seems to care.

I don't understand why people think they are broke. Harry will have had hefty inheritance from his mum and his gran as well as money they make from investments and previous earnings. TV work pays well.

None of us knows, of course.

But, apart from the hefty legal costs H has to pay, their lifestyle is very expensive. Most of the money will go on staff: security (VERY expensive), nannies, housekeeping, gardeners, PAs and PR teams before you even get on to the staff who run As Ever and their charity liaison. Some of these people will need to be very well paid.

All this will continue to go out but what is coming in? I’m not sure AsEver is raking it in at the moment.

Because, generally, it’s the done thing. Independent schools want royal kids. (I have some inside knowledge in the sector.)

I imagine it’s the same with other brands, like clothes designers etc. A sad truth is that often those who can easy afford to pay for things, don’t actually have to.

But the type of people with the money for top end schools won't want to be rubbing shoulders with liabilities like Ham... these type are discreet & value privacy. They won't want a sniff of Ham near their inner circles.

If they’re really bothered about security and privacy they’ll head up to Gordonstoun.

Gordonstoun is a secondary school.
Archie is 7, Lily is 5 secondary is years away.

What the rich Russians and Chinese? They’ll love it 😂😂

im lol at the idea they can’t afford private school. Who seriously thinks prince Harry doesn’t have £100k a year from whatever source 😭😭😭😂

Nah the Chinese & Russians are astute too & won't want Ham knowing their business! Their circles are just are iron tight & it's well know the Russians stick together in boarding school & the Chinese also stay together, they won't give a fuck about a couple of American kids!

@Madamefroufrou- that house is currently being refurbished and will then be up for rent. Coincidence?

But what would those parents do? H&M will have security around so it’s not like they can just walk up to them and tell them to leave?? And wouldn’t that cause problems for themselves with school SLT?
TBF none of us know what they are like. I think H&M would outwardly be very polite to everyone.

Newname26 · 23/08/2026 08:29

I think your right H especially will be outwardly polite to everyone.
But i think it will be difficult for them to make deep and meaningful connections with anyone.
Nobody with any sense would discuss anything more than the weather with them.

I know it goes against the grain here but I believe PH is quite charming face to face

I personally would keep them at arms length. The top earning old money families value discretion & their privacy.
Ham won't be allowed in the inner circles due to their previous form against their own family. I certainly wouldn't want anyone gathering information about me & my kids then using it as ammunition & gossip down the line.

TBF. Harry is from old money and probably slips in better there with privilege and wealth.

I can assure you, they will not need to pay fees, the school in question will waive the fees.

Don’t be daft. Of course they pay fees.

My friend’s husband is a head teacher at at a prestigious prep school. His kids get a huge discount at another very well known school. Not even a bursary just discounted fees

KidsDoBetter · 23/08/2026 09:03

Can anyone who’s got info on Westonbirt or Beaudesert Park let us know on Monday 7th what the upshot is please 🙏

They won’t do the first day photo shoot that W&C do because they aren’t working royals

Edited

Beaudesert has had all Princess Anne's grandchildren. 3 still there. So they are probably well used to the discretion that goes with that.

Yeah cos he’s a teacher. Not a highly wealthy private individual. Having Ham’s kids will be a massive ball ache & absorb a lot of SLT time & resources- and if other parents found out they were paying no fees there would be hell to pay.

Staff members always get discounts. Its why some work at prestigious schools. All the way from the headteacher to the cleaner. It works in state schools too, where teachers often get their children in to their work school, as the argument to the council is impacking work hours. His school must have a relationship with the other school.

Harry definitely is old money & I'd say he misses his old lifestyle very ,very much. However the aristos & other very wealthy families won't trust them due to them airing their dirty laundry in public. Meghan will absolutely not fit in, she's thd complete opposite to sloaney old money.
