Did they? Genuinely thought otherwise.

Harry certainly struggled academically there and later failed some of his services exams. I thought Eton allowed him in for pastoral reasons (to be with W and near to Granny at Windsor) but happy to be corrected if that’s wrong.

I think he takes after his famously unacademic mum.

I thought William passed, but Harry didn't. He got admitted to be at the same school as his brother because of their mum's recent death.
Happy to be corrected if this information is wrong
.

I feel a bit sorry for W&K. Such awful lies and attacks and now no doubt KC3 will expect them to play "happy families" at balmoral etc.
H&M made perfectly clear what they think of the UK.
Amazing they want to return, really 🤷‍♀️

I suspect that after the legal loss to ANL and ££££ associated costs that:
There are going to be investigations into the charitable tax affairs of Invictus, Archewell and Sentebale which will mean further large settlements so it doesn't see a courtroom.
Their Montecito Mansion will struggle to sell and they'll lose $$$ on that.
They have no way to grift any further without personal access to the RF and they need to monetise those kids, and so a British elite education is necessary (plus, M will want her dc to have what the Wales children will have)
What a mess.

She will 100% want them having the same as the Wales & doubt she likes them being the nations darlings one bit..
She will want hers getting the same education, high brow sports & hobbies, social connections, aristo friends .. she will feel A&L are entitled to everything the Wales kids have..
Does she not understand the upper class close ranks & it will be nearly impossible to gain the trust of the true high society here?

All the things they said about the RF and the UK! Also their "freedom flight"!
Such hypocrisy.

I don't think KC is nieve enough to think W&K will play happy families.

KC obviously doesn't trust H that much either, keeping visits incredibly short 20min for H after the cancer diagnosis and a whole hour at Highgrove.
I read something that said H&M haven't been given photos that were taken of the children at Highgrove.

I think KC kept copyright to stop them selling the private images..

"she will feel A&L are entitled to everything the Wales kids have.."

Surely by now the penny has dropped that this isn't how royalty works.

You are either in or you are out, and if you are in you have to know your place in the hierarchy.

They appear not to understand hierarchy.

Oh, its all so grubby 😕

justasking111 · 20/08/2026 18:52

Harry has some fences to mend with old friends as well I suspect.

Aye remember this was the same woman who claimed she was going to change the monarchy from the inside... look how that turned out for her!

And those circles are notoriously iron locked. Once your out of the inner circle that's it. They close ranks.

Well I think it kind of did. Certainly strengthened Williams resolve to ensure his father kicked Andrew and Sarah out of the nest.

Rachelshair · 20/08/2026 18:57

Poor kids getting uprooted. British boarding school? Surely M doesn't want that for them.
I wonder if Doria is coming too? It could be a very lonely existence. I don't think they'll be universally welcomed after all the accusations they've made. They must be skint, or H at risk of being deported. I feel sorry for Catherine.

HelenaWilson · 20/08/2026 18:57

Well there's the institution of monarchy, in which everyone does have a defined place and the Waleses are always going to be ahead of the Sussexes.

And there are also the private family relationships, in which for example Lady Louise was close to Philip because of their shared interest in carriage driving, the late Queen regarded Sophie as another daughter, Louis wanted to sit on Grandpa's knee and the King and Zara seem fond of each other, whenever they're seen together in public. And the Sussexes by their own conduct have probably excluded themselves from the private family circle.

Badvocthebad · 20/08/2026 18:58

Problem is...in those circles people want their kids to have access to actual royalty. To be invited to national events and rub shoulders with A listers. To get invites to shooting parties at Sandringham...
Not grubby hangers on who embarrass themselves every time they open their vacuous mouths...
I suspect no one in those circles will want to annoy the future King and Queen!

Yes but not the true aristos who Meghan will want to associate with ,the true aristos consider themselves above the royals!

Badvocthebad · 20/08/2026 19:01

My sister has a different theory which is pretty horrible 😕
She thinks they feel that KC3 hasn't got long left and want to make sure they and the kids are in the will 😕

Doria would need to apply for a visa of some description. She won't be able to just decide to move to the UK

Badvocthebad · 20/08/2026 19:06

Doria doesn't seem as present as she was?
I assume M will be winding up her Jam business?
That'll be a US tax headache

caringcarer · 20/08/2026 18:15

Well after years of claiming living in the UK is unsafe for his wife and DC and losing the case against getting free protection, Harry will have to pay for private protection himself if he insists upon having it. He can easily afford school fees and protection after selling out his brother with Spare. He won't be getting royal accommodation but I bet it will piss William and Catherine off if he is invited by King Charles to attend family events.

I'm pretty certain his ever indulgent Pa will make sure H doesn't have to put his hand in his pockets

It wouldn't surprise me if Charles would expect that of W and C- if so, that would be really, really shitty of him.

GeorginaWilby · 20/08/2026 19:14

For them to leave their lovely home in California for England, something has gone terribly (financially) wrong for them. I know the $$$$$ upkeep on the place is huge & they pay 3 million/yr for security alone. All the gardeners, the maids wages. Handymen - because Harry's useless. Californian taxes are massive. They are hemorrhaging $$$$$ every day. The jam trade is a hard & competitive game to get into.

I'm so glad the UK is getting them back.

I was looking at photos of the Californian house earlier, it is absolutely stunning, the interiors, the grounds, the privacy!

The King will leave everything to William (just as the late Queen will have left everything to Charles). This is standard procedure, to leave everything from Sovereign to Sovereign, to ensure no payment of IHT.
The Sovereign may, separately, create trust funds for certain other family members, but we don't usually know about them.
