I think KC played a good hand here. A private meeting at Highgrove, the kings personal home, makes it a meeting of father and son and grandchildren rather than a meeting of king and prince at a royal palace.
Goodness knows how desperate things must be chez Sussex though after all that Meghan (and Harry) has said and done against the RF; anyone with an ounce of self awareness must be dying inside to be meeting the subjects of their spiteful and hateful behaviour.
The irony of Highgrove though...I wonder if Meghan got a hamper of Duchy Original products?

Won’t the children be confused to have never met this lovely kind couple before? Wonder if they’ve asked if they have any more grandparents/relatives.

I wonder how long they're in the country? The very fact that we haven't got a clue is interesting and proves us all right when we said it would be perfectly possible to slip in and out without anyone knowing.

It's a very long journey for two very young children. They won't have any real concept of who Charles is and the meeting seems far too short to even start to build a relationship.

I wonder what's next? Isn't there a bit party at Althorp this weekend? I wonder if they are invited and that was the main reason for Meghan agreeing to come with the children?

Is there a party at Althorp? Earl Spencer's new wife is a tough nut, she isn't going to tolerate any nonsense from H and M I suspect .

Anyone seen this mad article? Harry talking about how the UK needs to learn about national resilience coming from a man so paranoid he needs armed security every time he steps out his front door.

Patronising self righteous pain in the tits.

A1 says there is a party this weekend 'honouring the Duke and Duchess of Sussex'. Hmmm.

I thought it was for the Earl's latest wife?

He’s a prick.

Every time he opens his mouth he comes out with some utter bullshit. The man wouldn’t know what resilience was if he got slapped round the face with it. I could hardly think of someone who has shown less resilience in their life.

I’m also disgusted at the fawning of ITV, and to a lesser extent the BBC. Alison Hammond saying his kids and wife must be so proud of him? For what exactly? For being off his face on drugs? For lying to the media and the courts? For libelling a high court judge and acting like a spoilt man child every time something doesn’t go his way?

I’m honestly on the fence about Charles meeting Harry and the kids. On the one hand, I think he has shown strength by meeting them on his own terms, no publicity, no photos and no details. I think a private family meeting would always have been on the cards, and it shuts down the narrative about it being too dangerous for M and the kids to visit, or the mean King refusing to see his grandkids.

On the other hand I also agree with the posters who find it hard to stomach Harry being apparently cordially welcomed by Charles after his utterly appalling behaviour over the last week.

That said, none of us know what was actually said at the meeting.

It must have been awkward as hell, surely. I’m sure they all kept it civil for the kids which may have helped. It’s good Camilla was there - Harry will have hated that.

I suspect they will be at Althorp now, and wouldn’t be surprised if this big party is spun by their PR as being in their honour. Hopefully they fuck off back to Cali soon and we don’t have to hear anymore from them for a while.

Yeah well, do you think Harry even remembers what he read out ?

Look at those saucers of pupils.

So the mental health card was played ? Big difference between fury at not getting one's way and mental health struggles. He's a selfish entitled knob.

Quite "I think that when you’re really up against it, how you decide to use that trauma, that experience or that loss, how you use that to really grow that resilience in yourself – I think that’s where people can connect to it."

There's absolutely nothing anyone could connect to Prince Harry with. All he's used his trauma for his to play the victim card and stamp his feet when he doesn't get his way.

My mum lost BOTH her parents as a teenager. Was it traumatic for her. Of course. But she got on with her life, raised a family (without the help of an army of staff) and has never ever once played the victim card in her life. My mum accepts her parents dying young as an event in her life, not as something as a get out clause or excuse for bad behaviour. And I love her immensely but she's my mum, she's still capable of being an arsehole at times and she'll admit as much too!

So true. Many people have experienced loss and trauma and have just had to get on with their lives. Why? Because they've got no-one to bail them out with a wad of cash, readily available counselling and a handsome, secure property.

I really don't know how people in the room manage to keep a straight face when he spouts his bullshit.

Edited for a typo, but he probably does sprout bullshit 😁

I couldn't stomach watching This Morning yesterday, initially because I find Angela Scanlon a hard watch but seeing AH was at Invictus, I feared the worst.
I hope people complain to ITV about the blatant promoting of a man who, only this week, has been found to have effectively lied in court, slandered the UK judiciary and used his previous position to abuse women and cause great distress to people doing their jobs. I'm actually surprised and really disappointed by Alison Hammond.

I'm not. She's a very irritating woman and doesn't come across as all that bright either.

Controversial maybe, but I can't help but wonder if this visit is KC and PH calling a truce and drawing a line in the sand.

KC - we'd love to see A&L again, and of course M, but it will be a private meeting at Highgrove. No one will know you are here until the visit has taken place. You will be covered by my security. But you playing the media stops here - no more leaks, no more digs at the family. No HIHO, just us as a family again.
PH - desperate for a reconciliation persuades M that he wants his kids to meet their GPa and begin having a relationship with his pa again on better terms. No more bitterness, he's got his pa back.

I mean, he did seem happy at the event today didn't he? Maybe that angry little boy inside is happy now he has his dad back.

Is that so far fetched?

Calling a truce implies there has been fighting on both sides. The RF have been grey rocking for the last five years while H&M have been howling into the wind.

While they've now met I don't think Harry will be getting his direct line to to Pa opened up straight away. Harry will still have to go via the MIGS for contact. The King made it clear before the isn't a bank and he's not going to want to deal with there requests for money as they get more and more desperate.

I know some are holding out hope HM will be welcomed back. I just can't see William even allowing it. They vilified his wife and Harry said C&L needed his protection or something similar. It just ain't going to happen.

She's very good friends with Omid Scobie. That tells you all you need to know.

Butteredtoast55 · 11/07/2026 09:26

I would also like to see a decent bit of investigative journalism & an evidence-based documentary (like Panorama used to be!) into the whole mess around Harry (charity finances, behaviour, ANL case, lies) but which broadcasters would do it?

Well not the BBC, for sure. Their reporting around Harry's visit has bordered on the sycophantic.

HurrahforHollywood · 11/07/2026 09:34

I find it so frustrating that no one ever challenges them . They get away with so much appalling hypocritical behaviour yet are never held to account.

Mylovelygreendress · 11/07/2026 09:34

At first the fact that BP made an official announcement really annoyed me but I see now that it was their way of saying that if any information or photos appear , the visit won’t be repeated .
I will be amazed if Meghan manages to keep quiet .

Starryfifty · 11/07/2026 09:35

look how little HAM have going on in their lives? They literally have F all to do. There will be plenty of there little gatherings in the future
