For all the entertainment this is bringing me, and I’ll be honest and admit that I have enjoyed the antics, I have heard a definite turn in media coverage today. I’ve had the radio on whilst working and have heard the various twists and turns reported with a mixture of amusement and incredulity. No longer is there straight reporting of the HAM’s press releases. And I can only imagine that if things don’t go Harry’s way tomorrow, the coverage will become much, much more critical. All of which is richly deserved and I hope leads to proper scrutiny of Invictus and other charities.
But I’m also not a complete loss as a human being. There is a part of me that’s a bit discomforted by all this. I remember the press becoming frustrated with Diana’s antics during her last summer, and the slew of critical articles before the hasty about turn. It’s not the same situation - but I do hope that someone somewhere can get through to Harry and talk some sense into him.
