Harry has had the BP and StJ offer for all of his previous visits for court cases and charity work but have always turned them down. What Harry wants is a floor of a hotel/Soho house cleared for him by a huge team of RPOs standing guard inside and outside rather than the "free" armed security that comes with a royal residence, as well as streets closed for his presidential motorcade.

He may also want a residence that gives him greater access to the senior royals - Windsor or KP so that he might engineer a meeting for his cameras. Remember how he used the proximity of Frogmore in 2022 on his way to "1 year until" Invictus in Germany to "pop in" to see the Queen. After which he then gave a very self-important interview to the US TV station NBC saying he was there to ensure she was "protected" and had "the right people around her" 🙄 - while whining he might not attend the Platinum Jubilee because of security.

One thing that has interested me in the past 24 hours is that Harry and Meghan appear to have burned boats with their usual media cheerleaders. Not even their biggest US mouthpiece, People magazine, have run with the faked risk assessment pasted together by Harry's LA security team but have stories on William, George and Lady Louise ... and I guess everyone has headed off for July 4th or Taylor Swift's wedding now

I feel like a royal residence is maybe too discreet for Harry. What’s the point of having security if there’s no chance of the plebs noticing it, maybe even taking a few pics and posting on social media to show how important you are? That's the issue. William recently visited a homeless charity in my city. He arrived in a modest, anonymous car, no outriders, no entourage. He was with what looked like assistants, but they were probably security, but very low key.
Kate was selling tickets at Wimbledon, talking to fans, stopping for pictures, then went to sit in the regular stands.
This would be an anathema to Harry, he wants to be welcomed like the Queen of Sheba.
