Radio 4 news just reported he will be staying at BP but won't be bringing M and the children because he's been told they won't be provided with "tax-payer funded security".

Recklessismymiddlename · Today 09:05

Hypocrisy absolute hypocrisy. We see you Harry. Tried blackmail and it didn’t work. Well played RF. You need them Harry, more than they need you.

Whaaaat?! After all that HAM Dram he's done what he should've done in the first place? Pillock.

Edited

It's all about the HamDram!

Well they got what they wanted. Headlines. Lots of headlines. And drama. I hope he gets roundly booed.

Umm, let me think.

I think MM knew she could never stay at Buck Palace after saying that she wanted to kill herself living while under the Establishment thumb – why stay somewhere that might trigger old trauma? Sussex Squad would find it too baffling.

However, they still need to be seen as Royal for the $$$$. So, Harry staying alone at Buck Palace means he gets the security protection he so deeply craves and reminds everyone he's still a Prince.

BUT, yeah, the optics look really bad for MM now. If she won't even come to Buck Palace, where they'll get armed security, then it shows she's got no intention of helping him reconcile with his family. Which I think will ultimately drive them apart.

I hope so too. He needs a frickin' wake up call and being booed by the British public on home soil would be exactly that.

Oh, he'd love that though - more of an excuse for his tiresome victim mentality.

Deep down among the few brain cells he does have, Harry must occasionally wonder about her lack of old friends and how transactional her relationships are, and wonder whether it will happen to him at some point – which it will.

I think Harry is still enthralled with her and hangs onto her every word

It's a win for him as being seen at BP reminds the world he is still a royal

Good point. That royal status is everything to him.

I like HAM and the HAMlets (previous poster, I can't lay claim!)

MyDogClive · Today 09:16

OMG - I am listening to Times Radio and apparently the palace have put out a statement saying no, Harry isn’t staying. This is after BBC breaking news that he was.

Talk about panto. Oh yes he is, oh no he isn’t.

Thedom · Today 09:16

Is this a joke ?

BREAKING
Prince Harry is NOT staying at Buckingham Palace during his trip to the UK this week, despite reports.
He did accept - but it came too late and his request couldn’t be facilitated or staffed. The offer remains open for future visits.

Would he really though? I think he carries a lot of regret over the estrangement with his family and his nation – otherwise why not stay true to Megxit and not give a shit about blowing up his Royal life? I know everyone thinks they're coming crawling back for the money and status, but I think that's just her, while he's realising more what he's lost emotionally. So having the British public boo him when he's trying to win us over with Project Thaw would bother him.

Where did you read that?

Passingthrough123 · Today 09:21

Chris Ship is reporting it on X.com – Harry left it too late to accept.

Good for the Palace!!!

Edited to add: He thinks the Palace is nervous because of the ANL verdict coming tomorrow and that constitutionally the King needs to keep his distance. Which sounds like bollocks – Harry ummed and ahhed and because Buck Palace doesn't have anyone else living there at the moment, it was too late to put the security measures into place.

LaMarschallin · Today 09:21

Good grief!
What a shambles on HAM's part.
"You put your whole self in
You take your whole self out,
In, out, in, out
You shout and flout and pout"

It's hard to tell but he did say at last bbc interview he has no regrets. IMO, the only reason he's crawling back now is because they simply have run out of road. They are a laughing stock in the US. His next gig is a spot on James Corden where he is discussing famous British Harry's☹️

If things were going well for him in US, he wouldn't be setting foot in the UK or indeed visiting his father

LemonGrapefruit · Today 09:24

So his team confirmed that he is staying at Buck House, to which Buck House promptly issued a statement saying he isn't, because he's vacillated so much with his plans that he left them no time make any actual preparations.

And Meghan isn't bringing the children to Buck House complete with armed guards around every corner because it's not safe, but she may well parade around Birmingham without a UK police/security officer to be seen?

Make it make sense.

(Though of course this is exactly what they were hoping for by delaying/prevaricating, so they can peddle the victim "they didn't want us and this proves it" narrative.)

I'm so glad they are finally putting him in his place. He won't come now

Dizzierblonde · Today 09:25

I think we can all see just why their staff leave in a never ending parade. Their lack of care and understanding that, in order to stay somewhere like BP, they need to rota staff for that stay. Announcing grandly that he has 'accepted the offer' pretty much as wheel touch down in the UK is awful behaviour.
