IIRC, jeff, it was said in the Telegraph that the group had something like £17 million of insurance cover and a "personal cover" of £3 million each ... which, as you rightly said, the judge suggested might not be enough if they lost

Doubtless Harry would expect daddy to pay, Doreen could do a "poor me" crowdfunder and Elton could no doubt afford it anyway, but I don't know where that would leave the rest

Still, that's the risk you take in bringing any case, and I'm sure the bouffant one will be okay no matter whhat happens Hmm

Yes it was a very poorly thought out case spearheaded by the fragrant, bouffant solicitor hungry for ego and money after his earlier wins , no doubt he told them it was easy money and the dm would settle like the others had and never see the inside of a court room!
that in my opinion is why the evidence was practically nonexistent!

It’s worse than that @Lunde!!! That’s not tea! That’s supposed to be lavender honey!!🍯 😬

OMG is that pale runny honey 😯

She also accused the fire brigade of racism in their response to Grenfell and had to apologise for it

I know, noonames, but I wouldn't exactly call Doreen's chosen words an apology - more like an attempt to dodge the inevitable criticism:
"I am reassured race played no part in their response to the Grenfell Tower fire. Learning about the conditions firefighters faced that night has been insightful, apologies for any upset caused. I'm confident how valued equality is to LFB & FBU"

The Fire Brigade Union's remarks, OTOH, are worth reading:

As I understand it, they are responsible for group as well as individual costs, and may have to pay for a higher proportion of the group costs if some of the other claimants win

Yes, I guess that would explain the £17million group / £3million individual coverage, @bluegreygreen, regardless of whether that turns out to be enough

Ugh yes, I hate that “apologies for any upset caused” thing, awful. It was such a shit thing to say about people risking their lives for others. I had always thought she was one of the good guys until then.

That looks awful. Plus the spoon and dish look like they need a hot wash.

The spoon looks severely tarnished - doesn't that leave a nasty taste? My granny would be turning in her grave and breaking out the Silvo!

... although a nasty taste in the mouth aptly sums up recent events 😂

She doesn't know how to look after silver. You don't let it touch food like that.

So true!! Yet after complaining that he wasn’t told he could lose his last case , Harry went ahead once more!!🙄

Lunde · Today 15:47

However both sides are likely to be saddled with some of the costs given that the Judge said that the £38.8 total costs for the case were "excessive and disproportionate"

Would the plaintiffs insurance be invalidated if it is found that they lied or paid witnesses etc?

AnAutumnCrow · Today 15:48

Do none of these very wealthy, and/or very well-connected people, have their own solicitors to advise them of the strengths and weaknesses of their cases? A barrister, especially a specialist barrister like Sherbourne, takes on a very specific role in the High Court. The solicitor is the key link between client and barrister in the jurisdiction of England & Wales.

Who are these people's solicitors? Where do they find them? Do they listen to them? It's all very strange if you ask me.

Does the silly prat not get that:

a) RAVEC don't base security assessments on People magazine puff.

b) Nobody gives a toss if he brings his kids or not.

c) Nobody gives a toss if he comes or not. Ever again.

Yes, funny how the UK wasn't good enough to live in, but it's fine to take taxpayers' money.

Why is his 'spokesperson' talking to People magazine about his family's travel arrangements?

Is there a single other person who does that?

Like I said above, nobody gives a toss whether or not he and his family visit. They're private citizens. Why does he believe the public needs to hear about this?

I'd say that's a "no" to all three, IcedPurple, though I did notice he's yammering on again about the kind of info the security services have which private providers don't

I'm also confident that, if told any of this, he'd immediately broadcast that too ... which would be reason enough for them not to engage with the fool

When you've got to the point of squeaking and gibbering about non-existent photogs on film and using other people's cameramen for effect there's not much credibility left on the security issue, but I doubt it'll stop him no matter how bored his audience becomes

God, it's just so tiresome. Nobody talks like that or briefs magazines about travel arrangements. It's such BS.
It's like he's taken being an irritating twerp to another level.
I wish he'd get a job.
