I’m sure those with limited thinking ability will persist with the opinion that she was carried up on a sedan chair though.

Fort William peaked at 21 last Saturday. And she started her walk in the evening, so likely cooler than that before she even got going into the higher, cooler temps.

Aye, course she did

How do you think she got to the summit, if she didn’t walk up, just out of interest?

Mygardenshedisfallingdown · 29/06/2026 10:43

I'm not a fan of the royals, it was the title that caught my interest so have rft
there are so many ignorant posters on here who have no idea about much of anything, except to bitch and stick the boot in because they are so thick they don't know any better. Some of these idiots need to get a life and a hobby. Don't like the royal family? Why post just to bitch then? Says more about the writer really, petty, jealous or stupid maybe all three.
I doubt William, Kate or the rest of them give a flying duck of what Doris from Grimsby in her 5 bed house / 1 bedcouncil flat thinks of them.

paleyellowbrick · 29/06/2026 10:48

Much of the income raised by the Duchy is used by the Duchy to pay costs like property maintenance,

But yet so many of the properties owned by the Duchys seem to be in a very bad state of repair. Or so we are told when they cost thousands to renovate every time they are needed.

Her every move isn’t monitored and she would have lots of time to train

The press absolutely do try to monitor her every move.

Where would she have trained ? She would have to have been doing some sort of mountain climbing and she’d would have had to have had support and security with her then too.

It wasn’t reported and no one said they saw her. So I imagine the press knew and were asked not to report until now.

Im just curious that’s all.

She used the Ben Nevis escalator they switch on for VIPs.

Aye, course she did

There’s footage coming out now on social media from other people climbing the peaks who saw her and spoke to her en route - as well as the videos she had her photo taken with a group supporting a boy in a wheelchair (presumably mostly being carried by his team!) who was also raising money for charity.

Catherine completes three peak challenge

They are rigorous hikes up rocky trails, but no actual technical climbing gear or skill is needed. She could have trained on stair climbers and treadmills at the gym. But we also know from a photo released of Charlotte last year that the family goes hiking in the Lake District.

I’ve done the 3 peaks. Did it with a group of people from work. None of us trained. If you have a decent level of fitness, and Kate is known to enjoy exercise, it’s not something you’d need to train for. The weather was the biggest challenge when we did it.

100% this. ^

Fair enough. I am impressed at her fitness then - clearly I am just very unfit as I don’t think I’d stand a chance !

ABitFab · 29/06/2026 11:59

So happy 😀

DuchessedOrleans · 29/06/2026 12:26

Well done Kate, an amazing achievement.

I’m sure she loved the chance to do something normal and without the usual fuss.

I love hiking, clears the mind.

sittingonabeach · 29/06/2026 12:26

@Orangemintcream I would struggle to get my fat arse up one peak, never mind 3 in a day! A decent level of fitness is subjective. And you need to be able to hike at pace to ensure you can complete in 24 hours.

I read a report about a gym that had used this as a challenge for new members who had joined the gym with very low level of fitness (or very fat arses!) A bit like couch to 5k. Some of the group made the 3 peaks some made 2. And the ones who achieved the 2 peaks were very proud of their achievement. I can't remember the length of time they had been doing the gym sessions before attempting the Three Peaks

Most work groups who I know who have attempted this challenge have done some training beforehand

Aye, of course she did. I'll have you know that a massive green screen in her back garden is a more likely story 😉

Lovemycat2023 · 29/06/2026 12:52

JustAnotherWhinger · 28/06/2026 20:33

She did them all in the 24 hours it says.

on another forum some folks are criticising the fact she was driven between the three peaks, but I can’t imagine anyone actually doing the peaks and safely doing all the driving!

Agree. People I know who’ve done it have a driver for their minibus - it’s not normal for people to drive and climb! I was a bit sad she didn’t have a group of friends too but pleased she’s well enough to do it.

Pansykavalier · 29/06/2026 12:59

I think the combined hiking time is about 16+ hours? At a steep incline.

I’d like to see some of the bitchy commenters doing even half of this…

Not to mention it would be bloody dangerous to drive yourself! I really hope people suggesting that don't drive themselves when they are very tired.

You mean she didn’t demand the mountains were closed for her?

What sort of Royal even is she?

Zov · 29/06/2026 13:35

@myrtleWilson You are seriously saying this is all a lie, and Kate is in her living room in front of a green screen, pretending she is doing the 3 Peaks Challenge?! 😂

LMFAO. Some people really do stoop so low to try and discredit Catherine. As if this is made up. Get a grip!

SwirlyGates · 29/06/2026 13:42

Well done Catherine, fantastic achievement.

As for not driving herself, a) who cares and b) much safer and c) I'm no expert, but surely most people do it in groups and don't have one person driving the whole thing, and/or have a separate driver who is not hiking.
