I think it's very cruel about KC and the late Queen. We don't know that Harry was left alone after he was told about his Mother's death, or that the late Queen was impassive when he said he was going to marry Meghan. This reviewer has allowed himself to be drawn into the web of lies, unfortunately.

I think when Spare was published there was less evidence of H&M's bad behaviour and it would have been easier to give H the benefit of the doubt. FWIW I imagine that to H looking back, QEII's reaction probably was fairly muted. She wasn't an effusive person.

I was astounded that it was the same person who wrote the fabulous book about Andre Agassi !

Interestingly a quick google reveals Moehringer has resurfaced this year to write a memoir 'alongside' Ari Emanuel, chief poohbah of WME who were tasked with re-launching Mrs Harold's faltering squib at one point.

Guess he thinks enough time's passed...

SqueakyDinosaur · 28/05/2026 20:29

I guess that's the skill of the ghostwriter. Agassi is patently a nice and thoughtful man in tennis champ terms. Harry, not so much, in prince terms.

See, I don't understand republicans supporting Harry? He's more royal than the rest of them because he just wants all the wealth and privilege and none of the work! He's massively entitled, greedy and arrogant. Hardly a poster boy for the alternative to the actual working RF.

As a republican, I agree about the inexplicable support Henry somehow enjoys.

I do though draw the line at the notion any of them work.

LauraIpsum · 28/05/2026 20:38

Perfectly appropriate advertising when I came to the Royal Family forum just now. Not an association I want to make with my lips though...

I should imagine the Royals might be tempted to pay H&M to stay in the US.
Just think, if they had hung on for a few years and still done all the appalling things, they could have had a better deal.

I am looking forward to Archie and L breaking free at 18.

I cant imagine how pissed those two dc might be, when get to being teenagers and realise what they have missed out on. Or their mates point it out.

Before they get to break free they have to wade through eighteen years of nightly emails from their Mum. Can you imagine? I really don’t believe I would read them. Probably the first half dozen. And then maybe the annual birthday ones. Depends a bit how long they were.
I hope they break free by sending all the emails to the first publisher who will give them a bit of dosh for them then they can make their escape . Though of course if I wouldn’t read the emails from my own mother how likely would I be to read them from Meghan. Some poor bastard will have to have the job of wading through them to produce a highlight later/abridged version.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 28/05/2026 22:00

I had forgotten about that passage in spare.
Turns out even during his time in the military he was indulged. He doesn't see that he wasn't really in control, they were just showing him the sights like a YTS boy.

I never said what I thought about them working? I think you have the wrong poster.
H&M certainly don't know the meaning of work, that's for sure.

MyAutumnCrow · 28/05/2026 22:27

I'm a republican who was waiting for Harry to reveal all about the royal family! Didn't happen. Just a risible, self-absorbed, embarrassingly uneducated pack of lies. I'm glad Moerhinger has admitted it was a less than optimal job, done for a million quid. (And yes, I'd do the job too for that money, probably.)

Harry has in the past six years stayed remarkably tight-tipped especially about the York ensemble - Andrew the alleged sex offender and betrayer of state secrets; Sarah and Eugenie the matchmakers and introducers of certain persons to other certain persons for fun relationships or maybe more; and Beatrice the 'private equity analyst' with interests that stretch all the way from daddy's Crown Estates to the Emirates.

The big questions for the whole royal family - notably those with titles - all coalesce around 'Who knew what about the Yorks, and when did they know it?'

The Secret Service Bureau (i.e. MI6) has a big old file on Peter Mandelson and his problemmatic connections with problemmatic Chinese, Russian and Israeli contacts. I'm pretty sure they hold similar files on family members of the Head of State, and brief the necessary people - who, being human, will tell the information to others who are close to them and/or those they believe should know.

(Btw I'll bet a lot of money that there are chunky files on all the Yorks, and Harry, and Meghan.)

FenellaFeldman · 28/05/2026 22:32

Good points, @TheAutumnCrowand I would concur. It's all very murky. It's never been explained why Harry was prepared to attack certain family members for very petty things (Kate and the lipgloss), yet no mention of the Yorks.
I'm just hoping it all comes out. I don't know when though. As well as AMW, Ferguson should face justice at the very least.

BasiliskStare · 28/05/2026 22:37

@MyAutumnCrow If I thought H was the biggest worry MI6 the Secret Service whatever they're called had - I'd sleep easy in my bed 😂

I do take your point , I just think he might be too much of a fool to be properly dangerous. But I'm being flippant - thank you for the post.

Oh yes H is a bloody fool all right.

But it intrigues me that he loves opining on every bloody thing except for the very famous York situation. It's as though someone has told him to keep his mouth shut, and on this one thing he has listened and obeyed. Why? This is a man who was happy to trash the former Queen, the current King and the next King, and their spouses. Basically, Harry doesn't give a shit what bridges he burns.

But on the Yorks ... crickets.

This always baffled me too. I know H&M were close to the Yorks at one stage. Well, it was transactional for Meg

jeffgoldblum · 29/05/2026 00:13

My theory! H and m don’t say anything about the Yorks because the connection is a little too close for comfort! , you never spill the beans on a container that holds yours too!

I agree - the Yorks are too close to home.

Meghan and Eugenie were friends prior to Harry and I suspect there is a connection to the Soho House set.

Doesn't Harry sometimes stay in London Soho House even now? Despite "security fears" he turns down secure accommodation at Buckingham Palace and St. James to stay at party central! 🙄

Yes. H&M have always been very closely linked with the Soho House group.
They were always close with the York family, more so than with the Wales.

And yet Meghan had no idea who Harry and AMW were ….
