I think some people do believe it. A lot of people don't pay attention to the RF and hear soundbites that sound plausible. There are also a group of people for whom Meghan can do no wrong. I don't think this core group of supporters will stop - anything negative gets attributed to palace propaganda.

This is interesting from Maureen Callaghan and Rob Shuter talking about Goop which apparently hasn’t turned a single dollar of profit, they discuss these so called billion dollar celebrity businesses in general and basically it’s all lies, smoke and mirrors which the main stream media lap up as factual. Meghan will never make any money from As Ever, if Gwynth can’t Meghan certainly can’t.

On the whole I've always found more expectation in America that people will mean what they say, but most aren't naive and many of H&Ms' utterings aren't just "kind of inaccurate" ... they're downright lies, and there's only so many of those normal people will listen to

@Starryfifty the Norma Desmond comment chimes with me. I have often thought that 2003 faux chateaux looks like a house out of a 1930s film noir eg Sunset Boulevard. This is the house used in the film , not really the same but their house has that feel to me.

I’m pretty sure the passport handover was do that photocopies could be made so “work” flights could be booked for her. I had to hand mind over to my employer for this very reason many years ago. In her case, prob some other stuff too that helps with visas, VIP travel, security clearances, application for citizenship if she’d wanted it, conversion of USA drivers licence to UK equivalent etc. People would have had to do all this for her. She’s so stupid to think that people wouldn’t know this, and actually allowed herself to lie so foolishly on tv. For what? To make out like there was a conspiracy to kidnap her? She’s really is her own worst enemy, made her own self look stupid in front of millions of people.

The South Africa interview was a turning point for me. I had seen red flags earlier (talking about herself a lot to the extent that it looked like hussling for popularity (I put this down to cultural differences), hugely expensive non-UK fashion (I figured she'd realise her mistake and course correct) but I've been to South Africa's townships and I'll never forget the impact they had on me.

It was incomprehensible to me that she'd do that interview there (and Harry too). I'd have understood much more if they'd done it from the UK. But from SA? I couldn't believe my eyes and ears. Once you reach that point, it's hard to turn back.
