I know it won't happen, but I think someone from the charity she's supposed to be supporting should tell her she's not welcome as she doesn't seem to be capable of following their policies and advice.

It's another example of her basic lack of empathy and humanity. 'I'm going to meet with the parents of kids who ended their own lives because of social media, so I'll just whack my own 4 year old up there on Instagram so they can all enjoy seeing me smirking in a stupid outfit.'

She's a horrible woman with no thought for anyone other than herself.

bluegreygreen · 17/05/2026 13:06

The Duchess of Edinburgh is due to be in Geneva next week, and does frequently attend these international events in relation to her work for women who have suffered trauma.

I hope she gets some good publicity and it isn't all about the Sussexes.

Thedom · 17/05/2026 13:09

The photo seems to be a staging of Anne Hathaway in the Princess diaries, wearing the purple outfit.

“Mia is invited to meet her estranged paternal grandmother, Clarisse, on a diplomatic visit to San Francisco. Mia learns that she is the sole heir to the small European kingdom of Genovia,”

Megan Markle, one of the worlds biggest trolls.

Coincidentially, this weekend, I am not far away from her event this evening, I am trying to figure out if I can fit in a pass- by to see what the deal is.

I would pay good money to see Sophie’s reaction to seeing Meghan !

The hypocrisy is quite breathtaking
I also think having someone flaunt their child across social media is really damaging to the campaign about social harms to children.

It actually makes me really cross that she either doesn’t understand or care about the feelings of those families who have lost their children

I agree with this - posting a photo of a child on social media is a very odd thing to do ahead of an event commemorating children who have died as a result of social media activity. And ‘hey everyone, look at me with my daughter and see how much we love each other’ is an odd message when she’s about to engage with parents who have lost a child. It’s pretty tone deaf even by Meghan’s extremely low, using-an-anti-semitic-terrorist-atrocity-to-merch-a-blue-and-white-striped-shirt standards.

I'd pay more of see Meghan's reaction if Sophie turned up at her gig.

I tried to find out details of the event,, timings etc, absolutely no promotion of it so far on the WHO events page.

We've seen that already, @lockupyourbiscuits, with her appalling attitude to others at the Parents Network, the attempts at a "Look at meeeeee" in Uvalde and much more

It seems the woman simply can't cope unless absolutely everything centres HER, be that others in need or even now her own children

Shame really, but it's her choices and her consequences to bear

I'm not sure Meghan would ever have been happy, whatever the house. I think she's only ever wanted to be 'American wealthy', which tends to mean enormous and brand new, and which Europeans tend to view as maybe rather tacky. I don't think she'd ever have coped well with our draughty old houses, however many millions they may be worth. Even if she'd somehow been given Blenheim Palace, she'd have whined endlessly about the lack of aircon. She aspires to the Kardashian lifestyle, not the King's.

I think this is why she was angling for Windsor because, castle. So she could go down the Disney route to princessy. Otherwise yes, she has no appreciation of the importance and history of the building she had the opportunity to live in

Wow, just seen this. What on earth is a middle aged woman, copying outfits from a princess movie for? . It’s deranged.

But wouldn't Buckingham Palace be more appropriate then? Most princesses don't live in medieval castles, and haven't for many centuries. It's actually a bit odd our RF still knocks about in castles at all, I'm not sure any others do. And think that was just the Queen anyway; Charles doesn't seem particularly interested in either Windsor or Balmoral. The official home of our royal family, and of certainly most if not all royal families globally, is a palace. I think actually palaces are supposed to be only for royalty aren't they? Unlike castles, which any old random can own.

I would think Buck Palace would also be a far more appealing location - why would she want to be stuck out in Berkshire with nothing but horses and tourists when she could be in the heart of London, surrounded by wealthy clubs, shops, celebrities etc. I'm wondering whether it was less the prospect of the castle she was drawn to, and more the resident... If she really was always brand building, she might have judged living with the Queen a good selling point. Though living in a cottage in the garden maybe less so!

Absolutely. If I was anything to do with that campaign (management/fundraising/whatever) I would be fuming. In fact I’d have rung her up and told her not to come! She needs some Sophie Chandauka style truth bombs. Not that it would make any difference. I’m sure people must have tried as mentioned in the article.

”I have been told, repeatedly, by people who have worked with and around the Sussexes that Meghan is essentially impossible to advise. That she just does what she wants, and everyone else has to do the cleanup.”

shockthemonkey · 17/05/2026 14:24

Fascinating choice of outfit - bleugh

Am I blind though? The Daily Beast article says she's posing in front of a walk-in wardrobe. I mean, for me, that's no more a walk-in wardrobe than was the one that led Lucy into Narnia.

Sorry X post with @PigglyWigglyOhYeah

Starryfifty · 17/05/2026 14:26

How is Harry ok with that image of his daughter? Is he so adoring of his rotten wife?

Was listening to Maureen Callahan. She said when, not of they divorce, she predicts Harry will be living in Africa and concentrating on repairing his relationship with his children.

AtIusvue · 17/05/2026 14:40

I’m wondering if Meg has introduced Lili to the Princess diary movies to try and explain why Lili doesn’t live in her ‘kingdom’.

From what I rem of the movie, she’s an American kid who discovers she’s a European princess.

Maybe Meg is showing her, she too is a princess even though she’s lives in another country and doesn’t have to live in the castle to have a title.

Living where in Africa exactly? He only knows the places posh boys go for holidays. The whole notion is ridiculous. Unless he moves to S Africa to a gated community like his Uncle did. Not quite what he had in mind.

What I mean is Disney princesses live in pointy looking castles, or at least actual castles with crenellations. Windsor looks Disney. Buck palace is really only a big house. But yes I also think she wanted to be close to the Queen to show how important she is

Can’t recall where I saw it but there was a discussion relating to H&M and the ageing royal photographer Arthur Edwards commented that it was such a shame there was so much focus on H&M for all the wrong reasons whilst the work of others particularly Sophie (I can’t remember who the other person he named was) is mostly ignored. As he said, it’s not just a shame for the royal person whose hard work is ignored and overlooked but it’s also a great shame for the particular charities and organisations they work with as they miss out on much needed publicity relating to the cause.

I paraphrase obviously as I can’t remember word for word what he said.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 17/05/2026 15:38

crenellations

That's my lesson for today.

BasiliskStare · 17/05/2026 15:40

@OtherS "she could be in the heart of London, surrounded by wealthy clubs, shops, " - On this basis Apartment 1 KP would have been fabulous ( and I'd be tempted by that ). Oh , but , the neighbours 😉I am sure in time KC would have stumped up for a country retreat somewhere. As it was I think Frogmore cottage is delightful. Very pretty , lovely garden , pretty big but on a human scale and security v.g. I'm not sure it dawned on her W&C lived in Nott Cot , Anglesey etc for a fair while. I suppose she wanted to hit the property jackpot running.
I can't remember the poster who referenced Cair Paravel - but I do suspect she saw a sort of joint importance with the two couples as a possibility.

I hadn't seen the Princess Diaries connection , but the photo does now look like The Princess Diaries meets Don't Look Now

If they had been allowed an apartment in Windsor it would have been a strategic master stroke.

Windsor is traditionally one of the homes of the monarch but by the time William became King they would already have established the castle as ‘their turf’ - and would have had many years being extra close to the previous two monarchs.

However we now know they don’t have a strategic bone in their body so was probably more about optics for Meghan’s American pals.
