1992 was the windsor castle fire there was a huge outcry of the bill to the taxpayer so interesting payments that were verifiable were paid from then but withdrawn in 2022 when E2 died.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/06/2026 10:53

I think there are a lot of people involved with the Crown Estate and the Royal Household playing everything by the book

I suspect, @MyAutumnCrow, that if anyone's trying to, it will be mostly the staff who know they'll get the blame when anything untoward emerges - and of course even that may fall to bits where one of the principals is determined to have something

Edo's hunger for the funding teat is just more of the same, and while I suppose he might as well get something out of his links to that ghastly family, I'm frankly surprised he's still around at all

AnnunciataM · 22/06/2026 08:43

Seems nothing keeps a York from a free holiday, does it?

Despicable

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/06/2026 12:42

This is the sort of thing I meant whhen some said he'd have no friends left

Unfortunately there are folk out there even worse than he is, and it's natural for him to gravitate towards them. After all it happened with Epstein, Weinstein and the rest, so why not now?

simpsonthecat · 22/06/2026 12:48

He loves his rich Arab friends and the worst of them will be quite happy to schmooze him for reasons unknown to decent people

At this point he'll become even more useful to foreign security services or whoever because they know he's desperate

But I don’t understand how he managed to go if his passport has been seized ? He is still under police investigation .
Or have I misunderstood?

LipglossAndLies · 22/06/2026 13:25

Just proves that they are above the law, if this was anyone else they wouldn't have had their passport handed back. All smoke and mirrors and wait for it to die down and refuse life as normal thats the way the RF operate

If this is true and not made up , it was a private plane, do you need a passport?
did he request and get permission to go?
so many questions!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/06/2026 13:30

I don’t understand how he managed to go if his passport has been seized?

Sounds like it hasn't been seized, @Mylovelygreendress, and while I believe this can be done for those released under investigation I'm pretty sure it depends on the circumstances and isn't automatic

It'll no doubt all be forgottten about in a couple of days, but if there's too much of an outcry it'll probably be one for the usual "lessons will be learned"

it was a private plane, do you need a passport?

Edited to add you certainly do if the flight crosses an international border, @jeffgoldblum ... unless of course it left from a discreet airfield and this somehow got "waived"?

Decacaffeinatednow · 22/06/2026 13:39

There is still the presumption of innocence and he has not been charged with anything so he must still have his passport.
It's always the Middle East with them though isn't it.

That’s what I’m wondering puzzled ! , where did the plane leave from? , where did it land?
are there proper flight logs?
did he get permission? Were the government or police involved?
is the source reliable? , do they have proof?

You forgot the other one, *jeff: would we ever find out? Confused

Considering just the things Andrew's ^known* to have done, a brief stay with some Gulf big-boy is hardly world shattering news, so I can't really see the media's sleuths putting in the hours on this one

And who would have given permission for it to have been ‘waived’, someone, somewhere, must have been approached, Met? Chief Constable? Home Secretary?

Very true! , I’m just feeling wary of the media lately! Lots of misleading and sometimes false information being reported! , where has the standards gone?
I also don’t understand exactly why he would go for such a short trip ?
whats the motivation? , money?
the dm are alleging that his injury happened while there?
but it doesn’t look like a horse riding injury? 🤔

Even if it did happen I can't answer that, @Recklessismymiddlename, but the common denominator with all those bodies is that they've governmental ones ... and we've all seen what their overall approach to the RF is

I’m just feeling wary of the media lately!

Very sensible of you, @jeffgoldblum Grin, and while we can't know Andrew's motivation for going a fair bet says it wasn't for anything savoury

He was 'released under investigation' which means he keeps his passport so nothing underhand going on there. If he'd been bailed....now, that would have been a different situation completely.

Call me overly suspicious or tin foily!
But it was previously put forward that Andrew deliberately went about getting himself photographed with that injury! , we then have an article saying he needs security because he’s more in danger than the other royals!
now this! He apparently slipped out of the country and this was were his injury occurred!

either this is a message to his brother for him to get more privileges back or and forgive me here ..worse this is a warning to someone else that they can get at him whenever they want?!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/06/2026 14:21

Yes, I mentioned this upthread, @Lifestooshort71 - as in the police can remove passports for those released under investigation, but that it isn't automatic and depends on the case

And I wouldn't call noticing the endless lies around Andrew "being suspicious", @jeffgoldblum; treating his claims with a certain "Hmmmm" sounds to me more like common sense

I look forward to you applying that to articles regarding Meghan and Harry and not taking them as facts or believing they are rhe ones who leaked things. After all as you say lots of false information is being reported. Just can't trust their use of sources anymore either.

I want it to be publicly noted and acknowledged that this supporter of h and m has now brought them into this thread that has nothing to do with them!!
I certainly do not want wishy washy comments about bringing them up being vaguely waved in mine or any other critical poster!
and @LipglossAndLies. Shame on you bringing them into a serious discussion about the disgusting Andrew as a cheap shot at me!!

simpsonthecat · 22/06/2026 15:31

That bruise on his face

He was playing boules. As he tried to kick his boule closer to the jack in order to win, someone threw a boule at him
Official not really!

Yes I think maybe people are getting confused with Mandelson, he was bailed with a condition to surrender his passport as was deemed a flight risk, but that was later overturned.
