I read the York sisters get police protection for public events, it didn’t mention if it was Royal public events, makes you wonder if they quietly have tax payer funded security when doing their own charity events or events they are invited to.

Hope they have been paying their BIK tax on the rent their uncle covered for them all these years.

Edited

They used to definitely, but I thought it was withdrawn.

It’s all smoke and mirrors though, so nothing would surprise me.

However, on the surface, apart from KC, QC & the Waleses, the Working royals, only get security, when acting on behalf of the state.

I would be surprised if the Yorks, get security for their own events, unless acting on behalf of the crown, which I don’t think they do.

Agree with this! That incidence with the Dutch Princess was hideous.

It’s not the Republicans royal children and teens have to worry about; it’s the wierd fans!

Even the fans who aren’t perverted have the potential to do a lot of psychological harm imho by commenting on sm, and by fuelling the market for pap pictures generally.

There are already Instagram accounts dedicated to Princess Charlotte’s fashion choices fhs!

The level of interest in the children now is so unhealthy and so driven by commercialism, that it’s got to the point where we need, imho, a boring elected head of state, and to not involve children in any of this.

Obviously an elected H of S might still have a family but offspring would not be obliged to participate in so many state occasions and one of them wouldn’t be inheriting the throne, and they would be ordinary people without great wealth or titles , so the interest would be far less.

I know people have always been interested in the royal family but social media has made things worse and seems to have resulted in people thinking they "know" the royal kids. Like that fan who told George at Christmas that "Granny Diana" would be proud of him, and the people who asked Charlotte for hugs. Did William and Harry hug people on their walks to church when they were kids? I don't recall it happening. Why do people think they are entitled to hug a stranger's children?

And he was not a normal fan if there is one.
He Slept on a park bench outside the hospital kate was having George at. For two weeks! I would never have wanted someone like that mixing with my children that's for sure

The thing is William took the children over to introduce them! He is obsessed and over familiar then the children's parents bring them over, why wouldn't he? There is no need for it. Waving and walking in and out is one thing but the stuff the Wales kids do just encourages the Christmas day nutters shouting so they can get the attention of the children too.
I don't think William and Harry did do it- the adults did but they collected stuff for the children. Even if they did it's turned into a circus. It's as if they are willing to do anything to cling onto popularity even if it v means introducing their children to stalkers.

I was really shocked seeing Charlotte hug a stranger, take selfies with them and when William introduced all of his children to that obsessive fan. They are not things a good parent would allow and do, but I wonder if he’s under pressure from others to use his children in this way. He should refuse though as the safety and emotional wellbeing of his children should be priority over the popularity of the Royals. I hope it’s not repeated this year and the children are kept further away from the crowd, many of which seem like obsessive weirdos.

simpsonthecat · 11/06/2026 13:03

Totally agree with last two posts!

People will say that particular fan is harmless, well, no he is not. Far from it because it is not normal behaviour to sleep on a park bench for 2 weeks!

It doesn't go down well but I am all for keeping the children far more under wraps then Kate and William do. The obsession with Charlotte and what she wears, her hair, and her growing up is vile. One day she had her nails painted and oh my God you would think this was the most important thing ever.

The trouble is it is going to get worse and worse until it is like the Sarah Diana Kate situation

I don't really want to see the children but as I'm not interested in any of them, that probably makes sense!

I agree about the children. I have said this before and will keep again it because it seems ludicrous really ... why are the children being rolled out? The Queen lived to her 90s, Charles only just becoming King now. William is in his 40s and yet to be king. Why don't they let the kids grow up in private and introduce them to royal duties when they are 18+. The future heir to William doesnt need to start training now whilst he is a child. It can wait!

This is another thing that is uncomfortable that William in particular encourages to an extent. The putting ' personalities' onto the children. So George is the reluctant King in waiting, Charlotte is the confident, bossy 'Princess Anne's clone and Louis, has the worst deal of all, is 'naughty, can't behave, always up to mischief! Why are people projecting so much onto them when noone knows what they are like irl? It's not Republicans or the indifferent who are forcing children to perform on demand for strangers with the expectation that they will have to basically do whatever it takes to keep their family on the Throne, it's the Royal Family itself and Royalists.

CathyorClaire · 11/06/2026 20:54

Agree entirely about Louis being placed as a cheeky imp.

Haven't they noted how the historically similarly positioned H turned out?

And I hate to say it, Andrew was also the cutest cheeky chappie. I feel they are a bit like influencers. Thinking that in the long run their children will benefit from the exposure financially so it's a price worth paying. The outcomes for Harry and Brooklyn Beckham have shown otherwise.

simpsonthecat · 12/06/2026 09:39

And Andrew was actually good looking for about two weeks 😂
Then he became rotund, entitled and verrrrry unattractive

To be fair, all the M-W men are handsome for only about that stretch of time!

LipglossAndLies · 12/06/2026 11:53

So much for modernising the RF and Royal with a small r.

One thing I have always lived by is look at a person's actions not their words so much...and well we have seen the actions of lack of transparency, lack of an apology for discrediting Virginia...then we see them warmly greatly B&E instead of distancing themselves

Yup things won't change they will learn to hide it better or continue to take people (mostly the royalists here) for fools

StillHereLolNow · 12/06/2026 14:23

I think they don’t actually care what Andrew has done or the optics around B & E. They haven’t trashed them in public unlike Harry which is what matters to them their public persona.

I find that quite odd, Andrew has single handley done more damage to their reputation and continues to as more information comes out.

Desperatelyseekinglazysusan · 12/06/2026 17:07

While they were brushing it under the carpet it was all fine because they didn't think it would come out. They could on the usual establishment cover up to protect them. They didn't bank on a foreign Parliament stitching them up.

simpsonthecat · 12/06/2026 18:16

They were damn unlucky you might say 🤣

Thank you, and thanks for archiving @AnnunciataM.

I don’t know this writer, Barbara Davies. I like her style - quite the damning romp through a lot of material.

I suspect the York gang of six don’t have any idea how others see them - or are at least starting to see them.

HoldMyWine · 12/06/2026 19:39

Indeed he has, but I think the royal family has different values. They seem to value loyalty above everything. I don't think they understand that most people are appalled at the greed and the allegations of corruption and sex with trafficked minors and subsequent cover-up.
