I’d love to tell my republican mum about MN, but it’s a space where I can say what I think so I won’t, but I know some of you will appreciate, that she told me that I had splinters on my behind recently, when dh was away and I went to stay with her. I can’t even remember what we were saying on how we got onto the royals, but she says Charles has done better than she thought, high praise. She’s a grudging admirer of Anne.

She’s not sure about that William and definitely not about that Kate. And of course the least said about the Yorks the better. She’s just sorry she won’t live to see it end in her lifetime and says they are all on the gravy train.

Thanks for that. I’ve said that if I was them, I’d have given up my titles. I’d have thought a lot more of them, if they’d have done that, when their dad was stripped of his.

But why would they give them up when that's their USP for all their jollies to the Middle East!

I find it beyond laughable that they are hanging on to royal properties despite doing fuck all as a 'working' royal, whilst they have privileged jobs, £3M+ properties, relatively wealthy husbands, yet feel the need to schmooze over in the Middle East doing god knows what.

I wonder if the York family are all a bit thick to be honest. They dont ever seem to think what their actions look like. They are certainly all as bad as each other - greedy and entitled and prepared to do anything to hang on to a royal connection.

They must know their parents are using them. I can only suppose at 36 and 37 years old, they’re completely in on the York Family Grift.

The level of interest in the children now is so unhealthy and so driven by commercialism, that it’s got to the point where we need, imho, a boring elected head of state, and to not involve children in any of this.

Obviously an elected H of S might still have a family but offspring would not be obliged to participate in so many state occasions and one of them wouldn’t be inheriting the throne, and they would be ordinary people without great wealth or titles , so the interest would be far less.
