not familiar with these guys but they have picked up on Harry and the Lifeguard incident

m.youtube.com/watch?v=7kF3SIcyXCg&pp=0gcJCd8KAYcqIYzv

Here's a still from the video. It shows Harry close behind the lifeguard, who is preparing a rescue craft as part of a demonstration for the benefit of Harry and Meghan, and Harry - leg cocked - getting in close to squeeze the man's bum with his fingers.

I really hope this incident haunts Harry Mountbatten-Windsor. This is not legal or acceptable behaviour in New South Wales. For it to happen during a visit where Harry was supposed to be honouring the Jewish victims of the Bondi Beach atrocity makes me suspect he is a deeply revolting person.

I would never have thought about the Royal family watching each other's speeches and things like that. I'd have thought they did enough themselves to find each other fairly boring.

Announcing they did watch it, means to me that watching it is important to them. If they never watched, then it wouldn't occur to them that people might think they did.

In this very specific scenario, though (where H was in Ukraine a week earlier calling for the USA to up their commitment) you think he might rise above the Pa-hate and watch it out of interest. To find out what the HoS of the UK, head of the Commonwealth etc. might have to say on an issue that was of such personal importance to him that he keeps visiting the region.

I don’t like the bit about Harry being Hewitt
‘s son which is nonsense.

Yes absolutely. She supported the institution that is the RF, if not certain individuals within it, and she would not have abandoned either of her children, let alone attacked William from afar. Which shows that Harry has very little understanding of his mother. He’s just tried to shoe horn a narrative about her to fit his own and make out he’s continuing what she started and was unable to see through.

Exactly this. Diana was loyal to the Queen and the monarchy. She was pretty clear that she wanted William to be King, and Harry to be his "wingman" and supporter. She also understood how the monarchy works. It has baffled me for years that Harry so obviously fails to understand these basic facts about his mother - I think she'd be very disappointed in him (as well as clashing with Meghan!).

He says himself he doesn’t remember much about her which is very sad.

I would think it would be a sensible idea to know what was said/emphasized for someone like Harry who operates adjacently to government and depends on taxpayer funding for some projects. If for no other reason that someone is bound to ask him.

It just sounds a bit sulky teen to announce you are not watching/interested. Perhaps they get someone else to watch and write a summary

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 30/04/2026 16:38

I thought is was very pointed when he was talking about the RF links with the USA that he didn't say he even has American grandchildren

I hadn't thought of this but it would be an obvious link, it does show how broken the relationship is.

I think she'd be very disappointed in him (as well as clashing with Meghan!).

Hard agree, with the clashing!

It almost looked as if he couldn't help himself, like the intrusive thoughts won.

But I can't actually believe this happened, it is so inappropriate, I wish the lifeguard reported it.

Indeed, but why hasn't he read a book? Or asked people - his Spencer aunts and uncle perhaps?

I’m sure he has.

BasiliskStare · 30/04/2026 16:49

I think the problem I H expects everyone to be his babysitter. He's used to not being challenged on his behaviour . He knew that lifeguard wouldn't complain , the poor chap must have felt pressured when he saw who it was. Or didn't want to appear lacking a sense of humour (which he shouldn't have done for sure.) I suspect H didn't think , has no sense of propriety , just thought "wot larks!" And he assumes any criticism and he can get the person to say they didn't mind , H is a great fellow etc. The point here is it doesn't matter if that lifeguard minded. It was repellently inappropriate and it is not acceptable behaviour. I too wish the lifeguard would complain.

Papercompany · 30/04/2026 16:49

Where has Harry said that he wouldn't watch the speech? I asked already and nobody replied - but it has been referenced repeatedly? Did H & M actually release a statement to this effect or is it just idle gossip?

I don’t think Harry wants to contemplate his father doing something rather magnificent on behalf of the UK. Not when his own attempt to tell Trump what for did not result in world leaders standing up to applaud him, and Trump falling on his sword at Harry’s, er, words of AI wisdom.

LaurenBacal · 30/04/2026 16:38

Where did he announce this?

He hasn’t directly. It’s the usual trick of Montecito “sources” giving the info to a journalist (in this case, Rob Shuter).

LaurenBacal · 30/04/2026 16:37

It's really odd to remember nothing about your mother when he was 13 when she died. Surely he has some memories?

I read about it this week - might have been a spokesman who said they weren't going to watch.

ShamedBySiri · 30/04/2026 17:15

I thought is was very pointed when he was talking about the RF links with the USA that he didn't say he even has American grandchildren! If H was still on good terms with Charles, this little cross Atlantic familial link would have been a nice point to make. He could have made some joke about the grandkids accents, or words they use he doesn't understand or something.
But instead, no mention at all. That must be very painful for Harry.

He did, however, mention the USA connection with reference to Churchill, who had an American mother.

H&M have been completely erased.

The only thing better than Australia are Australians ....ffs. How profound 🙄

She said that to Harry on the way over in the plane. I love the way she educates him, it's so sweet.

I don't think Charles wanted to say anything insincere. He doesn't know his American grandchildren at all really, and barely knows his American DIL. To claim a "tie" through them would be stretching the meaning of the word in this context. Plus, I imagine the brief was to keep to the matter of mending political fences, and avoid creating a distraction hullaballoo in the media by mentioning the Sussexes in any context.

Papercompany · 30/04/2026 17:25

Thanks...but 'insiders' telling a royal expert sounds very wishy washy. You could put any words in their mouths. And I'm no H & M fan.

H & M seem to be very aware of what the RF are doing all the time... I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't watch the speech at all.

Nobody actually believes they didn't watch it. It's the shitty and dismissive message being sent by them in saying that they didn't that is the issue. If they were decent people, they would simply say they were proud/thought he did well or just keep quiet.
