I agree that it would be nice of them to say they are proud.. It's very short sighted of them - Charles won't be around forever.

AtIusvue · 30/04/2026 17:32

Meghan:

’I usually gravitate to tonal dressing because it looks streamlined, but I also find it a lot easier to put a look together that way. It removes some of the guesswork and feels timeless.”

Yeh we know that! So you lied when you made out that you couldn’t wear colour when in the RF. It’s your fashion style.

I don't think Charles wanted to say anything insincere. He doesn't know his American grandchildren at all really, and barely knows his American DIL. To claim a "tie" through them would be stretching the meaning of the word in this context. Plus, I imagine the brief was to keep to the matter of mending political fences, and avoid creating a distraction hullaballoo in the media by mentioning the Sussexes in any context.

Oh of course he wouldn’t want to distract from his message. Even if they were on good terms, if all the mud slinging hadn’t happened and H&M were living a blameless life in California I doubt he would have mentioned them.
He did mention them in the period after the Queen’s death, talking about them building their lives overseas. I suppose at that point apart from Oprah the Netflix series and Spare etc hadn’t yet happened. Plus it wasn’t a state visit to another country obviously.

She is talking about her past visit as a working Royal and this last visit as if they are on a par. There is a world of difference. She looked a mess in most of her outfits so all the effort she says she put in was a waste of time. She really thinks she’s an influencer.

MildManneredRepublican · 30/04/2026 16:19

Here's a still from the video. It shows Harry close behind the lifeguard, who is preparing a rescue craft as part of a demonstration for the benefit of Harry and Meghan, and Harry - leg cocked - getting in close to squeeze the man's bum with his fingers.

I really hope this incident haunts Harry Mountbatten-Windsor. This is not legal or acceptable behaviour in New South Wales. For it to happen during a visit where Harry was supposed to be honouring the Jewish victims of the Bondi Beach atrocity makes me suspect he is a deeply revolting person.

(The image will take a few minutes to pass through the MN filters.)

I’m not sure if this makes it worse, but those in the red and yellow are not actually lifeguards. They’re volunteer surf lifesavers (from the local surf club). The actual lifeguards wear blue.

Starryfifty · 30/04/2026 17:36

I have no doubt they watched it in the hope KC would make a huge faux pas

He says himself he doesn’t remember much about her which is very sad.

He doesn'tvseem to remember much, full stop.

Indianrollerbird · 30/04/2026 17:28

That degree in International Relations didn't get wasted!

She doesn't have a degree in International Relations - her degree is International Studies where you study culture, sociology and anthropology etc in a multidisciplinary way. I think she combined it with Theatre Studies.

Oh I don't know. If they were on good terms and they were decent people who hadn't been trying to shiv him in the back and front for 6 years, Harry and Meghan would have probably been at the White House dinner, and he'd have probably thanked them directly for their support and for being a bridge between nations. This is the long term consequence of their short term stupidity - no place at the table.

MildManneredRepublican · 30/04/2026 17:41

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 30/04/2026 16:40

It almost looked as if he couldn't help himself, like the intrusive thoughts won.

But I can't actually believe this happened, it is so inappropriate, I wish the lifeguard reported it.

H has plenty of form for bum touching, nipple tweaking and slapping. Maybe he's just a common-or-garden sex pest.

I hope that finally some media outlets put all the known footage and accounts together, to show the measure of the man - dim, unexceptional and actually quite 'pervy'.

That's not what she said. Very clearly in her Craig Ferguson interview, she says "international relations".

She said the same thing on the Rachel (I think Ray) show.

I've seen a screen shot recently (can't remember where) of what the Royal website used to say, and that said International Relations also.

I do agree that it was a dual degree with Theatre Studies, but that wasn't relevant to my original post.

RecoIIectionsMayVary · 30/04/2026 16:38

I thought is was very pointed when he was talking about the RF links with the USA that he didn't say he even has American grandchildren

I hadn't thought of this but it would be an obvious link, it does show how broken the relationship is.

I think she'd be very disappointed in him (as well as clashing with Meghan!).

Hard agree, with the clashing!

Would be two Queen Bees dynamic - like Victoria Beckham and Nicola Peltz - what could possibly go wrong!

I just listened to that interview. You are right, she says "International Relations with Theatre Studies". Then she talks about working at the "US Embassy" - which makes no sense unless you say where... when Buenos Aires is teased out, she claims that she speaks Spanish, but not just any old Spanish - she speaks Castellano - which most people know is the Spanish spoken in and around Madrid, and definitely not the Spanish spoken in Argentina - that is usually known as Rioplatense Spanish. It differs in many ways from Castellano.

Gotta love that clever, beautiful princess.

JSMill · 30/04/2026 18:17

I have seen clips of that interview with Craig Ferguson and it’s painful. She’s such a boring, unaccomplished person, she has nothing interesting to say and he struggles to keep the interview going.

It does say on her Wiki page that she did a study abroad programme in Madrid as well after Argentina. Maybe she got mixed up.

I'm somewhat amazed we've never seen her graduation pictures in the distinctive purple gown and cap of Northwestern.

What he did was assault.

She's painfully dull. It's not about education. Diana herself admitted she was a terrible academic but could laugh at herself.

A while ago I saw an online copy of the programme for her graduation ceremony which listed her degree as a Bachelor of Science in Communication which is odd as International Relations would be a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. There was also a screenshot of her in the Freshman catalogue that she was a Journalism student - so who knows what she actually did 🤔

The other possibility is that she did international relations courses within the International Studies umbrella and was keen to emphasize this expertise as someone who had studied diplomacy etc when she joined the royal family.

International Studies is an adjunct degree and very flexible as you can double count courses to both degrees.

Not2identifying · 30/04/2026 18:44

I definitely think Charles would have mentioned the connection if Meghan had been a big success in the RF. I was surprised to hear him mention Lord Louis Mountbatten (now accused of sexual abuse) in the address to Congress when he was listing relatives who had served in the armed forces.

'The only thing better than Australia is Australians': I've noticed that Meghan loves a soundbite and often builds her word salad around one. It adds to that lack of authenticity and superficial vibe which holds her back.

Starryfifty · 30/04/2026 18:48

The only thing better than Australia is Australians? What a ridiculous nonsensical statement
