I was about to point out that one difference between Harry and Andrew is that H seems to lack AMW's (and his father's) connections with known paedophiles
That's true, @Puzzledandpissedoff.
I wanted to pick up here on something you said in another thread regarding posters ignoring the point often made about KC3's relationships with paedophiles/questionable individuals. Feel free to ignore if you like (it's off topic for this thread).
The comments tend to be made in the middle of heated discussions, where there is little room for nuance. That's why I usually skip over them - I'm not ignoring the topic, just thought it deserved more consideration.
Mountbatten died in August 1979, when Charles was 30. He had acted as an honorary grandfather to Charles, As far as I can see, allegations of CSA first surfaced in 2019 (many years posthumously). Even if he had known of them (very unlikely), M was a respected senior family member.
Charles met van der Post in the early 70s; their relationship was based on an interest in travel, conservation and philosophy. The CSA allegations (confirmed by vdP's daughter) were first made posthumously in 1996, and relate to the 1950s.
I don't think KC3 can be held accountable for either of these situations.
Saville: multiple people were fooled by Saville. I haven't heard that Charles was in any position of responsibility in relation to him.
I had the privilege of listening for a couple of hours to one of the investigating officers speak about the Saville investigation (with work). I am more concerned about those people who were in positions of authority, and ignored rules being bent, or questions being asked.
Re Ball: I've only just started looking at the investigation, but on initial reading of reports Charles may have been careless (said he didn't know what a caution meant) rather than culpable. He would be culpable if he intervened in any way; the report I've seen said he didn't. I'll read the formal investigation.
