PR Disasters of the The Duke and Duchess of Sussex continued :

  • So far we have Meg using charity events/sick children/vulnerable adults to merch her fashion, with the launch of her new fashion platform
  • She will be appearing on MasterChef Australia
  • Harry claiming to have had therapy when Archie was born, even though he never sought MH help for his ill wife a few short months earlier.

Every woman deserves to have a man look at them once like that - except Meghan 😂

Preferably someone who looks just like that fellow!

Also, as an aside, even more beautiful in real life.

I’ve also heard this from a friend of a friend in the armed forces. Service personnel who met Catherine all got a bit besotted by her, she is apparently radiantly beautiful up close.

I've met her, Ohpleeeese, and will make a rare departure from not commenting on appearances to confirm they're right

And that was in a very casual setting, so no fancy clothes, hairdo or even makeup as far as I could tell

Edited to add that, for an awful moment, I thought that was Catherine's hand on his leg Blush Grin

That’s so interesting to hear @Puzzledandpissedoff. It’s consistent with everything I’ve heard, including from St Andrews (wasn’t she nicknamed Beautiful Kate?)

Just saw your edit and now can’t unsee!!

https://www.thedailybeast.com/meghan-markles-visit-to-australian-mass-shooting-site-comes-with-a-crass-price-tag/

‘Meghan Markle’s final day in Australia began with meeting survivors and first responders connected to the Bondi Beach shooting, the December 14, 2025 terror attack on a Hanukkah event in Sydney that left 15 people dead.
Minutes later, the clothes Meghan was wearing were available for purchase on her new fashion platform, OneOff, with Meghan earning up to 15% of the sale prices.

Selling the clothes off her own back at the site of a massacre where 15 people died might come easily to Meghan, but, like any right-minded person, I find it sickening—much as I found it sickening earlier in the week when the clothes she wore when visiting a children’s cancer hospital were put on the platform.
(Meghan then changed before going to a veterans’ art event later in the day, and also put that outfit online.)
How wise the Queen was when she advised this foolish, impatient, know-it-all couple not to try and combine a life of service with a life of profit.
How idiotic they were to ignore her.
Today’s display was particularly grating to Buckingham Palace, one former staffer told me, as this is the sort of solemn, empathetic engagement that working royals carry out: meeting victims and listening to first responders at a place marked by grief.
To nakedly commercialize such duties in this way is not just hugely disrespectful, it is also unbelievably shortsighted.

I do not think anybody would seriously object if Harry and Meghan went to Australia purely to do business, make money, and pursue private commercial opportunities. Equally, I do not think many people would object if they were simply privately supporting charities dear to their hearts.
The problem is that not only have they merged these two positions, but that they have then marketed the results.
What this trip has done is reopen an argument that was supposed to have been settled in February 2021, when Buckingham Palace, under Queen Elizabeth, said of Harry and Meghan that “in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.”
The Palace position was that public service, in the royal sense, could not be mixed with commercial independence in the same package.
Harry and Meghan’s response was the line that became the banner for their side of the argument: “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
This trip, with a structure so recognizably royal, is their attempt to make that point— although in my humble opinion it has only proved the queen’s foresight.
I have no doubt that if Harry and Meghan had disclosed this was what they were planning to do, she would have removed their royal titles to prevent the confusion that is currently extant about their roles.

It is now beyond obvious that to expect the British people and those of other realms to sit around and wait for Prince William to remove the Sussex titles upon his ascension to the throne is a delay King Charles cannot afford.
The second half of Friday was occupied by Meghan making her two-hour appearance at the Her Best Life retreat at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach, a luxury women’s wellness event with VIP packages including a group photograph—which now looks like a largely harmless hustle.
But his short-term pursuit of cash will do terrible damage to the Sussexes.
The tour has drawn crowds in Australia. Harry and Meghan can still attract attention.
The issue is what they are doing with that attention. It looks performative, public-service symbolism, monetized.
The monarchy has always been obsessive about demarcating the line between duty and commerce. Bondi shows why.’

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex pose for a selfie photo as they meet volunteer first responders from Bondi Surf Bathers' Life Saving Club, during a visit to Bondi Beach, on day four of the royal trip to Australia on April 17,...

How Meghan Turned Tribute to Massacre Into Greedy New Low

Using an antisemitic massacre to drive traffic to a fashion platform is a new low, even for the Sussexes.

I am sure Invictus in the UK will be packaged up like a royal tour. Remember they were doing a faux royal tour when QE2 died.

I have seen her up close irl several times and can confirm she is utterly stunning, and radiant, and naturally so (although lots of make up…. Minimal work). She is effortlessly striking.

Keeps William on his toes 😉

Kate and Sir Ben Ainslie used to flirt up a storm. Which is exactly what I would do if I were in her position.

There's a photo of the two of them deep in conversation while William is on the sidelines looking distinctly unamused. I don't blame him! Those two had obvious chemistry, though I'm sure it never went beyond a bit of flirting.

BasiliskStare · 17/04/2026 22:36

well said Tom Sykes 👏 I have to say I do hope KC is starting to feel the need to do something . I actually think it is almost beyond the point whether it matters if it pisses H&M off. They're well versed in victimhood and most of us are bored of it , so a bit more grievance from them is hardly going to matter. Let them do the tours and the commercial stuff , let them support charities, but just do it without the titles.

sickofsixseven · 17/04/2026 22:41

Maybe slightly off topic, but is anyone watching the show ladies of London? Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath is everything Meghan probably wishes she was, and had every opportunity to be if she had been bothered to put the effort in or even cared about her position in the RF. The most recent episode had her hosting the cast at Longleat, and she really is amazing. Seems like she understands her role completely and has thrown herself into fulfilling it and then some.

Honestly I couldn't help but think that some of her comments over the episodes were a veiled dig a Meghan, such as talking about her cooking show (complete with a shot of flower sprinkles lol) which she has been doing for years, or being the first person of colour to marry in to the British aristocracy. By all accounts it wasn't easy for her at first but she really showed the racists how its done and didn't run to the press to complain. Seeing how amazing longleat is really drove home to me all that meghan threw away, and for what?

MissFenellaPrism · 17/04/2026 22:44

Emma is a very intelligent and talented woman. Taking on Longleat was huge, but she's done so with energy and commitment, in spite of a critical illness during her pregnancy. She is a good cook and a fantastic hostess, and has helped to develop Longleat as a destination.
She's what Meghan could have been, had she been prepared to work and learn.

There's no guarantee IG Birmingham will go ahead. Financially Birmingham are in the shit and IG needs to come up with funding - and they're struggling so far.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 17/04/2026 22:56

MrsLeonFarrell · 17/04/2026 20:21

Isn't the problem though that, titles or not, they will remain the son and daughter in law of the King? They are monetisating their family connection and that remains titles or no. I really can't see anything that the palace can do, except remove them from the website.

Because if the titles are removed it tells the world they are no longer part of the institution, most people don’t have the knowledge that we all have here on the whole saga, when these people who don’t know the ins and outs then see Harry and Meghan on their pretendy tours they think it’s endorsed by the Palace, and why wouldn’t they? To them a Duke and Duchess are visiting sick children and survivors of terrorist attacks, just like the royal family, except whilst doing this they are using these very events to shill clothes and line their own pockets which reflects really badly on the royal family and the UK in general.

HeddaGarbled · 17/04/2026 23:12

I honestly don’t think Charles needs to do anything. I read, either on one of the threads on here, or on Tattle, that the palace is relaxed about all this: H&M aren’t working royals and they understand that they need to make a living.

There was a time when H&M were a much bigger problem for the royal family, but their star has fallen so far, they’re largely irrelevant. Archewell’s finished, all their lucrative contracts lost, the business has bombed, they’re widely ridiculed. They’re scrabbling about for one-off paid appearances at mediocre events.

It’s easy to get sucked into getting outraged about every single thing they do and say, and demand SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. I think the royal family is wise to leave them be (plus they’ve got much more serious threats to worry about).

MissFenellaPrism · 17/04/2026 23:17

Yeah, I think you're right, @HeddaGarbled . How much of a threat are they? It's all just posturing and cosplaying and moaning as per usual.
This whole Australian trip - no official greeting, no reception, no special accommodation or ceremony. Just a bit of charity work and some money making. A bit like when Coronation Street stars open a branch of Holland and Barratt.
That's where they are. Limited in every sense.

Oh interesting @Puzzledandpissedoff! I too as you know don’t comment on appearance as a rule ( because I don’t care about it or clothing) , what stood out? , I have met people ( women and men) that had an inner glow , a radiance if you could call it that , that wasn’t really beauty as such but more something else? Not sure how to explain!
