After his talk about parenting and how he’s not pointing the finger or blaming his father, this snippet from spare was posted! , unfortunately for Harry it doesn’t show his father in quite the bad light he thinks!

Everything he says is complete word salad drivel. Needed therapy to bond with Archie (or such nonsense) Jesus Christ

Meghan did this too, I think - used an odd analogy for children on the internet. Seatbelts was it? I think they think it makes them sound really profound. But Harry isn't intelligent enough to pull it off, so it comes out as a garbled mess.

He probably means that every parent hopes to create a child that is biologically a part of them but better, because they will learn from their own parents' mistakes. This is obviously not an original thought, children being regarded as innocent, clean slates etc.
Most adults giving a speech would then probably wryly refer to Larkin's "they fuck you up, your mum and dad" poem, which is more often than not the result of even the most well-intending parents. But Harry wouldn't want to introduce levity, where would be the fun in that?!

Starryfifty · 15/04/2026 13:38

Perhaps I'm watching very biased footage but they do seem to be warmly welcomed??

Indianrollerbird · 15/04/2026 13:39

Just checked out about Rhiannon Mills and you're right, ... she's now Charles and Camilla's media secretary, which may well drive Harry mad
**

@Puzzledandpissedoff thank you for checking. I do hope Rhiannon gets to pay him in kind!

MrsLeonFarrell · 15/04/2026 14:08

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/04/2026 13:18

the more he demands deference,in an age when even actual working royals are loosening (?) up post QEII, the worst he comes across

Very true, @MrsLeonFarrell, but for me it's just another sign of inadequacy.
IME the truly respected don't need to do this because their reputation and known integrity go before them ... trouble is so do Harry's, and clearly he doesn't like the consequences

Also on your point about the children being extensions of him rather than humans in their own right, his own self importance seems to place everyone in the same category because, having nothing of his own to offer, it's for others to fill the gaps

Just checked out about Rhiannon Mills and you're right, @Indianrollerbird ... she's now Charles and Camilla's media secretary, which may well drive Harry mad Grin

I do feel sorry for him, but not very much because he has had every chance to reflect and grow and refuses to do so. I know what its like to be the offspring of a parent who sees you as an extension of themselves and it isn't very nice.

Yes loosening btw!

He wants what isn't real.

My dad didn't have time for all that either, he was working long hours to pay the bills.

Charles, the polo playing, skiing, bicycle riding, keen on walking etc etc Father was short of puff?

Bollocks.

But not Lili ? Diana's replica ?

I agree it was a good look. I've always said that navy is a great colour for her and clean, unfussy styles suit her best. It's a much bettter look than some of the awful 'designer' dresses she's worn.

But using a visit to a children's hospital to merch clothes is vulgar.

Need to visit children with cancer ? Then this is the perfect dress 🙄

This reminded me of Meghan for some reason.

No, this is far too cute for that. 😁

Does anyone else think that maybe PH and MM have decided they are royal regardless of what the RF say because of their titles and his lineage? As in, "you can't stop us from doing a royal tour because we are royalty" (whether they are working royals or not)

Could be!! , who can forget the witty rejoiner lobbed at the queen! “ she doesn’t own the word royal!”
or “ service is universal “ however this was a reply to being told they couldn’t monetise their titles! 🤷‍♀️

I believe Charles did in fact fall off his polo horse and severely injured his back ( I don’t think he ever rode again?!) , however I don’t recall how old Charles was and we have no idea exactly how old Harry was when his father stopped throwing him about!!

hold the phone!! , I have just realised something! He’s talking about his father being a single father, so this was after his mum died ( we don’t know how long after) but he was 12/13 William was 15? , it’s not surprising that his father could no longer lift and play roughhousing with him at those ages! , my own son at 12 has had to except that he is simply too heavy and big now for similar reasons!

I suppose if you really believe in royalty, as Charles is supposed to do, then Harry at least has been blessed with the magic stick and there it is. Either you are royal or not.

But for most people I hope that's just bollocks and they are where they are through some accidents of history and some (read And what do you do?) pretty epic grifting on a generational level. And so they can be de-royaled as the Yorks are finding out.

Ultimately the more they pare back the special ones the less we might feel we need any at all, even if it would be very amusing to see Harry become the second Mr M-W in succession.

I can just see Charles throwing 15 year old William around like a toddler! Maybe it's the other Charles who never took him for bike rides either?

I bet he's kept up his fitness levels though.

Quite - or indeed in the case of M - "Don't need to visit children with cancer , but you're going to do it anyway to flog a few frocks? Then this is the perfect dress."

Indeed!! Although we have had the (ridiculous) story of Charles being able to rip a sink off the wall !! Maybe he’s really strong! 💪🏻

Sorry no @Mylovelygreendress, there is precious little being released! , no doubt someone will investigate and report eventually.

So Charles was an older dad? Yes older than the master chef professionals contestant who became a dad at 17, but by most standards not what I’d call an older dad.

Charles DOB 1948
William DOB 1982
Harry DOB 1984
Archie DOB 2019
Lilibet DOB 2021

By my count that makes Charles 34 & 36 when W & H were born.
Harry 35 & 37 when A & L were born.

What on earth is he talking about?
