Wasn't there an article where M did the school run and none of the other parents came near her, and she said they were all intimidated? Or am I imaging it? I think it was the same one where she took her kid to a party and another mum was so in awe of her she didn't dare go on the trampoline where M was to collect her child... It made it sound very much that none of the other parents had ever met her before. Unless of course these other Montecito mothers at what one assumes is a fairly exclusive private school are so starstruck by British royalty that even after seeing her doing daily drop-offs for months, they still understand themselves to be peasants in the presence of royalty, and as such know their place and just lower their eyes in deference when she swans by.

"The other school parents are avoiding me... It must be because they're intimidated by me!"

Yes, dear. That'll be the reason why they're avoiding you /s

I expect that’s also the reason her thing in Australia isn’t sold out, and why nobody listens to her podcasts or watches her show or buys her tat. People just can’t handle how amazing she is 🤔

I still remember the claim that W and C were starstruck meeting M 😂

BigWillyLittleTodger · 06/04/2026 17:56

I doubt very much that any parents at the school would be intimidated by Meghan, I expect they are very wealthy themselves, probably far wealthier than Meghan and they wouldn’t bat an eye at some woman with a title that has no relevance in their country. What is true I believe is Meghan wants them to feel intimidated by her, she is a new money, nouveau riche person and is clearly deeply insecure, I suspect she is far down the pecking order at the school gates and she knows it.

...and the claim just after the engagement was announced that the royals were "queuing up" to meet her at the pre-Christmas lunch the late Queen always hosted at Buckingham Palace for the whole family.

Mylovelygreendress · 06/04/2026 18:31

Wouldn’t you love to hear the RF’s version of these events ??

noonames · 06/04/2026 18:36

Meghan’s unpleasantness must have been pretty overt from the start as W+C didn’t give her the benefit of the doubt for very long. Evidently couldn’t be explained away as just new to the RF or from a different culture, she was just Not Very Nice.

Jellybelly80 · 06/04/2026 19:13

My children and grandchildren went to school/are at school with royal children and the children of some very high-profile people. But honestly, their families just got stuck in like everyone else—happy to muck in, get along, and not make a fuss. They were really down to earth and easy to be around. There was nothing intimidating about them at all—just a quiet kind of grace and class that made everyone feel comfortable.

But don’t people always kind of queue up to meet an incomer. Isn’t it the polite thing to do?

I agree with this

I think the knee-jerk response is an attempt by Meghan to show how her kids get to be 'free and easy' at Easter, running around having 'fun' rather than attending a church service in formal attire. Unfortunately for Meghan, it simply serves to demonstrate how little she understands family, never mind the way the Wales children are being brought up. It's clear from the limited footage of the RF that there are close, loving relationships, with both the King and the Wales children pleased to see each other and comfortable with each other. I imagine church would be followed by a family lunch, where the kids get to spend more time with the extended family and, presumably, given Catherine's love of the outdoors and clear understanding of what kids like to do, there would be plenty of racing around outside having a good time. Meghan doesn't seem to understand that children can attend formal events, neatly turned out, but yet still have plenty of opportunity to have a really good time and just because it isn't posted on social media it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I really wish they would stop using their children like this. Again, it looks like one kid is being kept out of things (at Harry's request?) And when we do see him it's only a glimpse (and I almost expect him to be wearing a balaclava to hide his identity) whereas Lily is the focus, to an uncomfortable degree, being tracked through the garden in her summer frock. It's all really, really weird.

It reminds me of Michael Jackson parading his children with brown bags over their heads. Utterly creepy and disturbing.

"Queue up" is a loaded term, isn't it.

The polite thing is for the family member to go round the room introducing the newcomer, not for the family to form a line.

thenightsky · 06/04/2026 20:06

I think there are a mixture of reasons for why they are not shown - wanting to be in control, wanting to piss off the RF, Harry wanting 'privacy', the kids look like their Grandad Markle and Meghan doesn't want that to be the focus.

I've thought that too, right from when we saw Lil's 1st birthday photo taken the last time she was in the UK for the Diamond Jubilee.

She mentioned doing the school run in some interview? She said something about on the days that she didn't do the school run? And the lunchboxes!! She has definitely mentioned making lunch boxes for them so I assume they are in school. I think California has really tight rules around photographing celebrities children.

I recently read an old article which was an interview with her from a few years ago because it was alluded to in Bowers latest book where she collected Archie from school/kindergarden with the journalist.

The article also mentions Archie not talking until they had passed a certain hedge or something, like a ritualised behaviour which on the light of his not being pictured like his sister makes me wonder if the poor lad has some special needs so they are hiding him away.

Starryfifty · 06/04/2026 21:12

I think these are all little teasers, showing the back to the kids' heads. They know damn well what they are doing. There will be a big reveal very soon. It's their last card. They are beyond ridiculous now. Wasn't PH in LA pissed up lecturing parents on the dangers of children and SM ?

Did we know that she parted with WME? I can’t keep up with who she’s fell out with etc!

https://archive.ph/rGWRg

The DM:

‘One thing to note is that the couple parted ways a long time ago with the very influential talent agency WME. A well-placed insider at the respected Hollywood talent agency (full name William Morris Endeavor) said the Duchess of Sussex fell out with them over a ‘lack of cover over the holidays’ around Thanksgiving in 2023, and as a result they quietly opted to stop working together.
A source said: ‘She complained that she was having to do everything herself and WME essentially told her to get lost.’
The news means Meghan is without the formidable bargaining power of WME and its influential boss Ari Emanuel at the point when their deal with Netflix has been downgraded and success stories are in short supply.
One well-placed Hollywood insider said: ‘There is no way that the Variety piece (about her fall out with Netflix) would have run if WME were still looking after Meghan.’

wait for the clap back 😂…..

‘A source in the Sussex camp demurs that WME are ‘still involved’ with Meghan, but that formulation does not mean that there is a current contractual relationship.’

wait- it was reported last year but was denied

‘I’m told that all concerned agreed that they would not comment on the split, and indeed back in February last year the story of the break-up was denied by WME and Sussex sources, after the New York Post said that it had happened.’

So she lasted 6 months with WME! You couldn’t make it up

In all honesty whilst I feel the Markles are a couple of amusing clowns , I think they are going too far .

So a minor point - No-one , no-one needs to see H&M's children - back nor front - they are private citizens - so to me it is very clear they are releasing photographs of their children because they choose to. Both of them.

They clearly need the royal adjacency (I think ) . That's quite sad if that is all they have after the freedom flight. I think many are getting bored with them. - in the sense they have anything important to say , Having a giggle at them - could last longer. 😂

Yes I think we had worked this out as WME taking on MM was big news - but then they never managed to secure her any deals / contracts - if they had we would have heard about it …. I have a vague recollection that they were asked if they still represented her but there was some fudge of an answer.

BasiliskStare · 06/04/2026 22:59

@AtIusvue thank for that post . It really does look like they are clinging on to royaldom because they have nothing else they can do by their own talents. I think many people realised this before H&M did 😊 I'm not sure I would want to take on WME .

It's not the polite thing to do.

In this particular context, M was trying to give the impression members of the royal family regarded her as someone special and were queuing to meet her in much the same way as the public used to stand in line to be introduced to the late Queen.

Queue up as in be very keen to meet the person.

As for the lesson in etiquette - I didn’t need it but thank you anyway.

You wouldn’t be the first to suggest this but I wouldn’t say they are hiding him away. I’d say they were meeting his needs.

In the Revenge book it talks about how Meghan was " unaware of the teachings of the Bible" and had to receive instruction before her baptism pre wedding.

But didn't Meghan attend a Catholic High School? Both my primary and high schools were parochial, so not fancy, but (low) fee paying, Catholic schools and we had at least one Religious Ed lesson a day, and I don't remember them being optional. And whilst I appreciate that the Catholic Church leans heavily towards the New Testament, we also did a lot on the Old Testament. I mean you've got to fill in 13 years of five lessons a week somehow.

If she didn't pick up some stuff, she must be even better at switching off and daydreaming than I am.

I must add, I am in Australia, so the situation is probably completely different to the USA
