Yes, it makes no sense.
It’s obvious that they are still organising and trying to pull something together, that’s why they can’t publish anything….they haven’t got anything

Probably still trying to grift freebies of goods and services for the event!

Not2identifying · 09/04/2026 18:37

I disliked the 'Hi Lovely' greeting in those emails! It's all very cringey.

I’m glad they kicked that journalist out, what business does she have there but to harass private citizens?

Really?

First, if you read the article she paid for herself and was going on her own time, not as a journalist.

Secondly, if they were serious about not wanting press there they should have made that clear in terms and conditions before taking money from people.

Thirdly, if they were serious about wanting to make money out of the weekend (talking about either Meghan or the 'Besties' organisers) people who you want to be on board and talking about your weekend are surely 'lifestyle' journalists, who can give you a good write-up?
Didn't Gwyneth Paltrow make multiple thousands of dollars out of her event? Did she ban journalists?

No, GP talk was very different. There was no topic off limits seemingly.

Surely journalists attending and reporting on this public event is no different to theatre critics attending and reporting on an opening night? She is so thin skinned she is practically transparent.

It doesn't make sense to me, if you're a celebrity who wants to make money out of your brand or your events, to ban journalists from events.

If you're serious about making money, wouldn't you want to develop relationships with lifestyle journalists so that they will write about your events and boost sales of your products?

If you do for some reason decide to ban them from events, shouldn't you make that clear in advance, so that people don't pay and then find they can't go? I know she was refunded, but no-one needs that hassle.

Does the new opportunity to upgrade to a single room for $500 more suggest that very few of the single rooms have been sold ? And if someone had already bought a single room - is this new offer cheaper than what they signed up to?

If there were only 300 tickets originally (with x % sharing) do we know what the audience size will be if no one wants to share?

In this context, Meghan isn't a private citizen. She's presenting herself as some sort of lifestyle guru and charging the public for access to her. Usually somebody in that situation would want the press attention.

I understand that Meghan has found the high level of press scrutiny incredibly difficult but she's also consistently made choices that are going to increase that very same press scrutiny.

I think she's never going to find peace or happiness with such a contradictory approach to her 'career' (for lack of a better word). She absolutely could have lived as a private citizen, but she didn't.

My guess is that ticket sales are low, and they are trying to make a virtue of it by getting an extra $500 for the room that wouldn't be dual occupancy anyway...

😂

Now they are briefing the DM and other British media with their Aussie itinerary. Make up your bloody minds…you work with the British media or you don’t?

“Return” to Hollywood?

She only finds press scrutiny difficult when it is not favourable !

MrsLeonFarrell · 09/04/2026 22:03

I don't remember Eric Roberts in Suits. I'm not sure people will be falling over themselves to offer Meghan large roles. Token roles to garner publicity yes but she wouldn't be able to carry a successful movie. She isn't a good enough actress for that.

Ohpleeeease · 09/04/2026 22:56

I wonder if all these offers take into account the monumental security arrangements and costs we are assured come with being a Mountbatten-Windsor?

I can see how it might initially be appealing to a studio to have MM in their stable but realistically I can’t see how they could ever get a production out.

Coclare · 09/04/2026 23:29

Interesting P6 piece which reiterates that her previous NF contract stipulates her refusing to act. Looks like she’s changed her mind and is after the $$$$. I can imagine that now she has let it be known she will now act there will in fact be a lot of interest as she will pull in the viewers even if just to hate watch - and that might be a commercial calculation that some producers have made. Same as previous NF, Spotify, OW interview etc - but it will be a one off - like everything else. It won’t be sustainable and the $$$$ will not be in the range she commanded before.

AtIusvue · 10/04/2026 00:41

Harry also made a big deal of KC saying the Meg should keep her acting career when they marry. Harry was outraged at such a suggestion

@Ohpleeeease this is odd, you understand that this isn’t actually Meghan’s event right? she’s simply attending as a guest - her only part in this is appearing.

i understand the urge to nitpick her for breathing but at least let her have done something 😂

Meghan will be up to her oxters in the planning of this event.

“Return” to Hollywood?

Apart from when with her dad on set, when was Meghan in Hollywood? Meghan must make herself dizzy from all the pivots. But gosh, I admire the woman’s tenacity.

Mylovelygreendress · 10/04/2026 07:18

About the “ return” to Hollywood. Firstly I never knew she was in Hollywood . Also If my memory is correct, M’s part in Suits was ending and she had nothing else lined up so she didn’t give up acting , it gave her up .
Frankly these rumours have a whiff of Sussex shit about them !

ThePoshUns · 10/04/2026 07:22

Yes Suits was filmed in Canada. M manifesting again by the sounds of it

Ohpleeeease · 10/04/2026 08:35

I think it’s ok to refer to Hollywood as her roots. She did live and work there at some point. These petty exaggerations aren’t the things that bother me about her.

AtIusvue · 10/04/2026 00:41

Though he was happy to pimp her out for ‘voice overs’ as per his pitch to head of Disney in the line-up for Lion King event.

elessar · 10/04/2026 08:49

I could see Meghan getting a number of acting offers initially on a return. Maybe even high profile leading roles.

But I think the problem will be twofold. Firstly, I don’t think she would be willing to take any roles which she doesn’t think befit her “status”, whether that’s in terms of the role itself (I can’t see her wanting to play a character who isn’t poised, elegant, brilliant etc), or in terms of the production - would she really want to appear on a soap for example.

The second issue will be her behaviour. The demands she will make about security, privacy on the set, how she’s being portrayed. I cannot see her mucking in and getting on with it as a working actress, she will want to control everything and be treated with deference.

She might get some parts initially but the novelty of her name will wear off quickly and when her reputation spreads (and I know it has already, but she has some acting creds so people may give her the benefit of the doubt) then I think the offers will drop off as fast as they arrived.
