I imagine it wasn’t as nasty as the taste you experienced from h and m’s continued behaviour.

No it wasn’t.

It’s never nice when a business goes bankrupt and suppliers are out of pocket.

The business Carole Middleton started at her kitchen table whilst a trailing spouse in Jordan had done very well for years till Corona came along and down it went like many others did.

And you know this for sure ??

FallenNight · 19/03/2026 11:51

Did the Middleton's do anything wrong? Other than fail to keep their business viable under challenging circumstances. Presumably it was a limited company. Therefore they were not personally liable for any business debts. Were they underhand, or did they just loose their business? I don't know much about it but see it pop up on here sometimes. Google just says it was in loss due to COVID and then they sold it, at a loss and were unable to pay creditors. Which is quite common for failing businesses.

I wouldn’t call family buying another family member a house grifting, are you sure you are not getting confused with gifting? 🎁

Advice that should have been given to Harry and Meghan before they bought a house with assistance from Charles surely! 🙄

I'm not sure you can really say they couldn't run a successful business. They ran the business which at its peak was worth £30M for 36 years from start up. That is a strikingly successful business, they will if sensible have taken out profits and invested elsewhere to reduce risk should the business fail. They may not have needed hand out's at all. It failed during COVID when parties were cancelled, with very little warning, they lost all of their sales, but will still have had massive costs. The failure of business in that industry was exceedingly common.

After 36 years of successful business ownership I would expect them to still be very wealthy even after the business failed. Not to mention the family trust they would have had access to from the aristocratic family links.

I had thought these comments were because there was some underhand dealings I was missing. But it seems just crowing about a family loosing the business the worked hard and built up over many years due to circumstances completely out of their control.

fantom · 19/03/2026 12:53

Haha it's an interesting parallel to be sure!!

bluegreygreen · 19/03/2026 13:06

@FallenNight there have been comments on other threads that the Middletons changed the business to a limited company a few years before it failed (to be clear, I don't know if that's correct, as I haven't checked myself) - with the implication being they did so to avoid liabilities.

Of course, if they foresaw the impact of a COVID pandemic they were wiser than many.

Then start a thread on the PR disaster of Party Pieces. Im sure you’ll get lost of posters with that interesting and up to date information!

This is for the PR disasters of Meg and Harry. Says so on the tin.

@bluegreygreen thanks, I did wonder if I had missed some gossip. I am surprised if they only became limited later on especially with it being so big. Otherwise Huge risk.

sorry to derail @AtIusvue I have been curious when Party Pieces is brought up. The senior Middleton's could perhaps offer some mail order start up advice to the Sussexes.

This is an interesting article especially all of the ‘unfollowing ‘ of MM and as ever by key players in Hollywood. She is becoming persona non grata there.

I’m finding all these articles coming out now very interesting! , it’s almost as if whoever was protecting them has now withdrawn and given the nod!

This stood out from the article:

"Sarandos was so ‘all in’ with the couple that he even allowed Harry, Meghan and her family to stay in his $34 million (£26 million) home in Santa Barbara when they bought their own huge place in Montecito"

If Ted made decisions to over-allocate Netflix resources based on his personal relationship with H&M, then it is increasingly a problem for him, as the Netflix Board of Directors will deeply question his judgement in handing such a generous contract to two individuals with no industry track record.

Ted has 2 more problems: 1) he is not the only Netflix CEO and 2) technology is rendering his areas of responsibility increasingly irrelevant.

Netflix has two co-CEOs, Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters. It is an unusual arrangement and a costly one for shareholders. AI is radically reducing the need to manage content, marketing, legal, communications, and publicity side of the business which fall under Ted's purview. Greg's responsibilities include product and tech, advertising, human resources, finance, and gaming...which will only become more important, particularly tech, over time.

If you have an AI generated star, well what use is Ted given that an AI construct does not require schmoozing and additional AI can create and develop any necessary marketing campaign. Bearing in mind there are already AI instagram influencers such as Aitana López who have garnered a significant following.

Aitana López has over 149,000 Instagram followers and brands love her. Is she the future of social media marketing?

How exactly is it grifting, sorry?

CreamolaFoam26 · 19/03/2026 13:38

laughing at the ref to the Middleton not being able to run a successful business.

fact - the business started in 1987 and did so well it gave the family a fantastic life style until 2022/23 when it went under because of Covid. That’s thirty six years of success. Thirty six years of a rip roaring success that started at a kitchen table.

And the house that they seemingly weren’t able to afford? Well, that was bought in 2012, many years before the business folded.

CreamolaFoam26 · 19/03/2026 13:39

Just ignore! , some people are under the impression that “attack is the best form of defence “ rather like h and m themselves, this is the best defence that can be applied right now apparently.

I very much doubt William had anything to do with buying it either. He was only just married at that point .
