Prince Harry and Meghan’s huge Aussie plans revealed. Visit to Sydney and Melbourne in Mid-April.

EXCLUSIVE

More than seven years after then-newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan embarked on their hugely successful Aussie tour, the couple is reportedly heading back Down Under.

A source confirmed exclusively to news.com.au that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are planning to visit Sydney and Melbourne in mid-April.

While their last trip to our shores was in an official capacity as working members of the royal family, this time around they’re travelling as private citizens – and it’s understood they’ll be focusing on activities related to their businesses and philanthropic work.

Details of their specific plans remain unclear, but it’s been rumoured that Meghan will appear as a guest on the Her Best Life podcast, which was initially launched and co-hosted by Jackie “O” Henderson and Gemma O’Neill through their “Besties” company. Earlier this year, just a couple of weeks before her high-profile and abrupt recent exit from her KIIS breakfast show, Henderson revealed that she had decided to “step away” from the venture.

It’s rumoured that Meghan will also appear as a special guest at an upcoming “Besties” event, following in the footsteps of previous VIP speaker Gwyneth Paltrow.

The actress took part in a wide-ranging Q&A with Henderson back in 2023 which attracted around 3,000 ticketholders to the ICC in Sydney’s Darling Harbour – so Meghan’s appearance could be in a similar capacity.
Despite Henderson’s recent departure from the Besties company, she hinted last month that she may return in some capacity in the future - and perhaps Meghan’s involvement could be one such occasion.

Gwyneth Paltrow was the special guest at a Besties event, run by Henderson (left) and Gemma O'Neill, back in 2023 – and Meghan is now rumoured to follow in her footsteps. Picture: Supplied
While details of the couple’s itinerary are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks, it’s likely that Harry’s plans will involve Australia’s armed forces or veterans’ community, given his strong connections to both.

It’s understood he also has a number of friends locally, fostered across multiple previous visits, including during his month-long stay with the ADF at an army barracks in Darwin back in 2015.
And in his 2023 memoir, Harry gushed over his time living in Australia as a 19-year-old in 2003.
He wrote in Spare that working as a jackaroo on a farm in rural Queensland had helped him find inner peace during what were “some of the best” weeks of his life.

It’s not yet known whether the Sussexes’ children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, will join them on the trip next month or stay back at the family’s home in Montecito, California.

News.com.au understands that the royal couple’s Aussie visit has been in the works for almost a year.

It's really not a provocative thing to ask for a tax invoice. Standard practice for most transactions.

For business transactions. Do you get an invoice for personal spending? A receipt, yes, but not an invoice?

StartupRepair · 09/04/2026 23:29

In Australia the expression tax invoice has almost completely replaced receipt.
Anyway, not long until the Coogee shenanigans.

I think we will get the warm up act with PH giving out his wisdom on MH earlier in the week …. and no doubt there will be a couple of additional cringe charity photo ops to keep us entertained ahead of the ‘fire-side chat’.

Liam Maguire is the 'newly minted' PR guy. Wonder how long he will last. And will he outlast the Australian tour?

And he doesn’t come across as very professional at all, he has issued some hostile and puerile statements on their behalf, he definitely doesn’t appear to do PR very well, that’s for sure !

'Operational Planning Notes' from Liam Maguire https://archive.is/uL9Um

Taxpayers funding some security in Australia https://archive.is/xrIjY

“Notably, the official four-day itinerary, starting next Tuesday, does not include Meghan's appearance at the 'Her Best Life' retreat at the InterContinental Hotel in Sydney's Coogee Beach, which <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.is/o/uL9Um/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-15706963/Meghan-girls-weekend-retreat-overshadowed-growing-security-concerns-online-troll.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">runs from April 17-19.”

Is that because it might not be happening? There is an explanation that Liam M is separating off communications for MM commercial activities (the retreat) from the rest of their itinerary - not sure I am buying that…..

Baital · 10/04/2026 15:53

He's not that 'newly minted', rather newly promoted by the sound of it.

I love the way they have an 'official ' itinerary that doesn't include the girlie sleepover 😂as if they weren't private individuals for all of it!

Although it's a bit sad, like ex-Edward VIII and Wallis insisting that servants refer to her as HRH. The reverse of Marie Antionette playing at milkmaids at Trianon...

bluegreygreen · 10/04/2026 15:57

It was also confirmed that the Sussexes would not be undertaking traditional 'walkabouts' - where members of the Royal Family greet their subjects in public - 'due to the security costs of keeping public order'.

Not sure if this paragraph is also from the 'operational notes' or just because it's the US version of the DM - the UK version wouldn't use the term 'subjects' (and would surely know that 'British subjects' pretty much ceased to exist in 1983).

LondonRidge · 10/04/2026 17:02

So that the papers can say they aren’t publishing the details “for security reasons” … because they have to make it look as though people actually give a crap.

Apart from the subjects bit I think they've left out the words "working" before Royal Family , and for clarification after Royal Family perhaps "undertaking a tour at the behest of the Government" ( might not be the best wording , but I think people will get my point )

Sounds pompous beyond belief.

Maybe it's because only Senior Working royals do walkabouts. Minor celebrities greet fans.

They are hilariously convinced they are still Royal aren't they.

gishgalloping · 10/04/2026 21:38

"British subjects?" That's very rude. Right up there with their documentary describing Commonwealth countries as "Empire 2.0".

For two people who were appointed to Commonwealth roles by the late Queen, they are astoundingly ignorant and insulting about it.

It’s beyond a joke. It must be a leak as it’s harping on about security again when literally no one would turn up … and public order, give me a * break please. Public disorder at the sight of seeing the revered Harkles?? What a joke. They are so pompous and self important it’s hilarious.

They just can’t bear being so irrelevant can they.

Wasn't the bloke who was in their documentary talking about the Empire the same as the one on Celebrity Traitors who kept wanging on about Stephen Fry being a genius? David Something? It didn't give me a great impression of his judgement, but that could be because I find Stephen Fry deeply unimpressive and so biased me against him.

gishgalloping · 11/04/2026 10:09

Yes, I had to google, but he was in the Meghan and Harry documentary. I feel exactly the same way about Stephen Fry as you do, so didn't think much of him on Celebrity Traitors.

Afua Hirsch is the one who made the Empire 2.0 comment and also called Harry an "anti-racist" which is very strange considering his history of calling fellow soldiers racist names, dressing up as a Nazi and allegedly telling his friends that Chelsy Davy was from Zimbabwe but "she's not black or anything, you know."

David Olusoga. I used to rate him highly, and still think his history books about Germany’s colonial roots were very interesting.

His foray into broadcasting and his royal commentary has all been very luvvie, though, and I didn’t enjoy his ‘collab’ either with Mary Beard and Simon Schama for all sorts of reasons. It reminded me of Alice Roberts and her embarrassing ‘clown fish’ episode.

Olusoga is a Professor of Public History but yet (for personal reasons perhaps) he comes across as very protective of the ‘right’ sort of permitted post-modern histories that he is prepared to support. Hence he took Harry’s side because it suited his contradictory social narrative. I do hope he now regrets giving the appearance of admiring the divisive, dishonest Sussex duo, especially after accepting an OBE in 2019 for ‘services to history and to community integration’. He was markled.

ThePoshUns · 11/04/2026 10:47

Yes I thought he was so obsequious in Traitors. I was cringing for him.

Mylovelygreendress · 11/04/2026 11:02

Anyone else think the Australian visit might be called off due to some emergency?

Which is another reason to think last of the otherwise-revered QE2. She foisted these two clowns on the Commonwealth! Appalling judgement on her part.

I wonder where he stands on Harry's recent African Adventures - Sentebale and African Parks.

That's him. He seemed very nice on Traitors but extremely naive and easily impressed.
