This time to Jordan. What do they bring to it, exactly? What is their role? To bring attention to the issue of Syrian refugees? Jordan is dealing with them fine.

What are they there for? In what capacity?

Harry and Meghan land in Jordan as they begin two-day visit

Prince Harry and Meghan today began a busy two-day visit to Jordan - one of Prince William and Kate's favourite countries - as they met people working with refugees.

Because the WHO asked him to.

Leave Roger Daltrey and Pete Townsend out of this..sorry couldn't resist.👍😁

SimplyT · 26/02/2026 09:08

Their stomping ground is the US, and other than a few tabloid and celebrity articles, there is nothing about this trip being reported. They are not even being mentioned in local Jordanian news in regards to the WHO delegation. The WHO are in dire straits, now being financially propped up by China since the US withdrew, there is a lot of murky stuff going on really muddying the waters of the organisation.

Lockupyourbiscuits · 26/02/2026 09:13

Whether he was asked or not it was his choice to go
He keeps telling us he has a target on his back after his stint in the British army ( I won’t resurrect his idiotic comments in spare )

We can only conclude he has no security risks whatsoever apart from the odd fan in common with other controversial celebs
so that’s his security case solved 👍

Front pages?

In many countries - hard coverage to get.

I'm sorry, I've had a look, but I can't see any front pages.
Not mentioned at all on the BBC website, more than halfway down the Daily Mail site.
Not on any print front pages at all.
Not on NYT, WaPo, NY Post.
They may have gotten some initial links on websites, but they've gone now and zero print news front pages that I can find.
Can you link to the multiple front pages you say they've gotten please.

Harry looks likes he is not feeling this trip at all, he looks dejected, while Meghan looks gleeful and elated. I wonder if he was supposed to do this trip alone, but he was overruled and it became a joint trip.

The nastiness on this thread makes me sad. Whatever you think about the family situation, they’re not doing anything other than leading their lives. You may disagree with how they’re doing it, but the personal attacks / name calling / presumptions about their character and motives isn’t really necessary.

The irony is that if H&M had just cracked on with living their lives outside of the monarchy - they had a huge swell of public opinion and support behind them when they left - they could have been the darlings of the Hollywood and philanthropic elite by now with credible and sustainable reputations and careers.

But it was the revelation of their real personalities - from their very own mouths directly and unfiltered via the onslaught of their intense one dimensional multi year, multi media global campaign comprising:

OW ‘bombshell’ interview,

6 part NF docuseries,

Autobiography,

x12 episodes of Spotify podcast

  • each initiative discharging their ‘nastiness’ and relentless personal attacks on others which repeatedly demonstrated their bitter, brittle, vicious and self serving personalities.

Each of these initiatives they chose to amplify further with the accompanying media round of more interviews to escalate their victimhood, nastiness and personal attack campaign.

Then their abominable behind the scenes manipulative behaviour came out when
MM was forced to apologise to the judge for lying in a court of law around their devious underhand shenanigans with Omid Scobie.

Layer on the dozens of consistent and persistent witness and victim accounts of MM bullying and belittling her staff (pre her time in BRF, during and post her time in the BRF - on both sides of the Atlantic) which have been investigated, verified and reported in a wide range of credible industry publications - who each would have done their due diligence to ensure this was legally watertight with this highly litigious pair - and you have quite a compelling insight into their characters and motivations.

Sling in PH appalling treatment of Sophie Chandauka in his attempt to use this charity to improve his wife’s reputation after her poor behaviour so she can continue selling UPFs and tat. I have no doubt that his other charitable endeavours will demonstrate overstepping / conflict of interests etc

Bill Simmonds head of Spotify was comfortable coming out publicly to confirm they were ‘fucking grifters’ from his experience of ‘working’ directly with them.

So they have chosen to hold many to scrutiny on the public stage surely they can expect the same? I do draw the line at picking on their personal appearance as I find that distasteful - and if anything it’s a significant distraction from the real issues these two are involved in.

But mostly these two clowns bring me giggles frequently with reports of their escapades - it’s amusing to witness the downfall of two grandiose, grifting, delusional, grasping, brittle, bullying, self serving fools.

I wondered the same thing. Might also explain why Meghan looks like she just threw a few things in a case !

The WHO wouldn’t have funded this trip if it wasn’t to their advantage. They have directors, auditors, accountants…..I don’t understand what that advantage is, but they wouldn’t have done it for shits and giggles…..

The WHO Director General that invited H&M that also chose Robert Mugabe to be a Goodwill Ambassador and has been roundly criticised for lack of transparency? The WHO DG who (after meeting with Chinese officials) refused to elevate the COVID 19 pandemic to an international emergency, the one who pressured UN bodies to not intervene in Ethopia, in fact the Ethiopian Govt demanded the WHO investigate him for supporting the TPLF (& supplying guns to them).

That WHO DG? It's naive to think any major organisation isnt immune to a bit of quid pro quo.

Someone funded this trip - and it's just a vain PR exercise for most involved.

Isn't this thread an example of the problem Harry and Meghan now have when they get involved with charity work? The WHO invited them, as they invite a lot of celebrities, to go on a visit to attract publicity to a specific situation. Most celebrities don't get their visits covered in the press, so from that point of view it's a rather expensive jaunt with little results. Harry and Meghan get loads of press, but most of the attention gets derailed onto what they are wearing, how they look, rehashing then leaving the family etc all of which is stirred by the tabloids calling their celebrity charity visits "quasi royal". The end result is the purpose of the visit gets lost in the noise.

I personally believe that, even if they dropped the titles, it's far too late at this point for them to attract publicity and be able to focus it on why they are actually there. The sole exception might be Invictus.

It will be interesting to see if organisations like WHO continue to invite them along or whether they decide they aren't getting enough relevant bang for their buck.

But that’s exactly H&M intention.

They have zero sustained interest in any cause for the cause itself.

It’s always all a vehicle to draw attention to them so the can flog more UPF and tat.

Every word and action is self serving. This is free advertising for As Ever and the H&M ‘brand’ and any further commercial opportunities that they will be touting for.

Yes and he is not adverse to a bit of PR, he hired an external PR company during the COVID crises, when there was huge criticism of WHO. Apparently he also hired a US based PR company when he was campaigning for the role of DG.

  • The World Health Organization hired a high-powered public relations firm to seek out so-called influencers to help build trust in the organization’s coronavirus response.
  • WHO paid $135,000 to the firm Hill and Knowlton Strategies, according to documents filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.
  • WHO has come under intense scrutiny for amplifying the Chinese government’s false claims about the coronavirus.
  • Hill and Knowlton proposed identifying celebrities and other social media users with clout to ‘amplify’ WHO’s messaging about the pandemic.

Ah no, @jeffgoldblum - I can handle a chat, debate, argument and so on.

I don't like name calling, claiming psychiatric illnesses for a person who is a stranger to you, degrading physical appearances, in order to put someone down is not something I do or like others doing.

What an outlandish thing to say when in your post immediately before this you do exactly some of this about the RF. Is it ok for you to do it but not others? Do as I say not do as I do? 🙄

Agree he's not as obviously excited as when he was in Ukraine.

I read the President of Indonesia flew into a military airport, so maybe the UN delegation did too, I think that traffic would be heavily suppressed. No doubt it will come out at some point.

Amman is a great city, it is also possible they arrived a few days earlier and had a nice luxury break in advance of the 2 day trip, an incognito visit to Petra, or possibly a secret hardcore visit to the Gaza border (no, I guess not ).

Or to the Israeli victims they support allegedly as well?

@Longshinyhair

Not personal attacks against me.

Personal attacks against PH and MM.

By that I mean when their person is degraded - slagging off his bald spot or diagnosing her various personality disorders and so on.

Argue against their mode of being, how they earn their money, even their existence, but those personal attacks are, in my opinion, beyond the pale.

And just to be clear - I have never once, in twenty years on Mumsnet, accused anyone of personally attacking me.

Oops there you go with that racist colonial "beyond the pale" again. Must do better!

Well MM took the timely opportunity to launch a new bookmark yesterday at the same time she was generating ‘front page headlines across the globe’ (she wasn’t) - so an opportunity for people to be reminded she sells UPFs and tat for a living and for her to squirrel away more $$$ curtesy of WHO budget and refugee prop.

Loads of people go on trips for the WHO. Many of them minor celebrities. Is it only H&M who shouldn’t go?

Because they’re doing it for their own gain, they don’t give a hoot about anyone except themselves and the cameras

corblimeyguvnr · 26/02/2026 10:58

andIsaid · 25/02/2026 23:05

Actually, you are wrong there.

You, and your coterie here are laughing.

Anyone with any compassion is talking about the refugees.

The Gazans in Jordan are thrilled actually.

Go and have a look at the threads on line - there are loads.

Are they dancing in the streets though?
