I’m not really sure what people are expecting them to come out and say at this stage. The police are reviewing evidence and I imagine legal advice would be to not say anything at all at the moment 🤷‍♀️

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/02/2026 21:45

bluegreygreen · 17/02/2026 21:40

By which I mean: any comment from him which appears to make an apology for AMW or assume his guilt in any way could be used by a lawyer in court - either for the prosecution to say he is clearly guilty, or for the defence to argue that he has no chance of a fair trial.

I'm not saying that either argument would be successful - but no one would want any chance of that happening.

Edited

I know what you meant and you're right, bluegreygreen

The time to act over Andrew was when he was actually doing these things, but unfortunately for the RF they didn't and now they're paying the price - something for which I've no sympathy whatever

Im expecting them to get someone independent to look at their own internal procedures, what instructions are being given to staff and the internal culture of the Palace. Its probably too much to expect for them to look at themselves and exactly how well they are being served by surrounding themselves with sycophants and expecting them to put out endless PR nonsense to cover for them.

I’m expecting to see them to do the same, I’m just not expecting them to make an announcement about it right now.

Yes probably not, but I suspect they would prefer to see how long they can get away with 'business as usual'. Its more important, I think to put pressure on MP' and make sure they know their actions can be seen. The RF wont be able to get away with inaction if Parliament properly scrutinises their actions.

OneBusyFinch · 17/02/2026 20:42

Apologies if you’ve already seen it but Republic do want to bring a private prosecution.

www.republic.org.uk/

That's interesting. Obviously being charged by the police and tried would be better but if, for any reason, that wasn't to happen this is another possible option.

I think any crowd funder might be quite successful.

Yes, I agree that there needs to be pressure put on MPs (and not just on this issue). Unfortunately, we don’t, and haven’t had for a number of years, the Parliament the country deserves. There seems to be a reluctance by many in Westminster to ‘rock the boat’ so things that warrant scrutiny aren’t getting that.
All too often the focus seems to be on navel-gazing and feathering their own nests.

That’s not to say of course that it’s not worth doing, you never know, something meaningful could come of it.

I could go on but probably best left to the Politics board. 😊

And the RF spokespeople have already said they will "support" an investigation.

I am hoping that this is exactly that W is trying to get his dad to do. While QE2 was alive, and revered like the Pope - not a chance!

I think school-run W has a very different mindset from that of boarding-school-at-7- and-on-with-our-lives QE2, and wants to smash a lot of the VERY outdated mindsets she fossilized. I hope CE3 lets him get on with it.

I agree with you.

But would add that the final decision was made by QE2.

We don't know who else got a vote, or how they voted.

Or who know what, and when. Or who controlled that flow of information.

I hope youre right. And I hope he accompanies that by cutting their cost to the taxpayer. So far he has demonstrated little willingness to do the second part, just a lot of PR about ' no live in staff' and just living in a family home- one of 4- fully renovated (2 by us) every time, and has been more secretive than his father. Maybe the difference will be that the press were only too willing to lap it up, but even the DM arent bothering to hold back now.

This seemed the appropriate place to mention - I contacted my MP (I said this on the first thread) and, as expected, no answer.

Reuters reports that a panel of independent experts appointed by the UN Human Rights Council, after reviewing the latest tranche of Epstein documents, concluded that “so grave is the scale, nature, systematic character, and transnational reach of these atrocities against women and girls, that a number of them may reasonably meet the legal threshold of crimes against humanity.”

And there we have it. And we have to face the fact that a member of our royal family, brother to the Monarch, and his ex wife are slap bang in the middle of all of this.

I think we have faced it, the RF and parliament/government are the ones who have to come out of hiding. Good to see that, finally some acknoledgement at the organizational level.

I too noticed that the DM are not holding back in disclosing all Andrew related Epstein activities. That felt like a significant change.

ThePoshUns · 18/02/2026 09:10

The DM have never held back when it comes to AMW and Epstein

IAmATorturedPoet · 18/02/2026 09:12

The DM have been doing this for quite some time.

Ukisgaslit · 18/02/2026 09:15

@Rhaidimiddim

Has William’s new crisis manager started yet?
ALL of the Windsors are linked to the Epstein cover up . The Windsors have been covering up for Andrew for over a decade

There is an attempt by royalists to separate firstly Charles from the scandal ( didnt work ) ) and now William from the scandal but it doesn’t add up

Plenty of photographic evidence that William
was perfectly fine with Andrew ( until we all found out more ) and took part in the attempted rehabilitation of Andrew .

Two , now three , of William’s charities now have links either directly to Epstein or to longterm friends of Epstein . I am sure there will be an explanation for this but William’s silence does not help .

I only wish I could say i was surprised, but sadly this is the cesspit our "leadership" has become

Yes but more generally, it’s very pro-RF. I’m looking for anything and everything to see if there’s a sea-change in sentiment, no matter how small.

He’s on Radio 1 co-hosting a show about mental health today. I haven’t listened to it, saw the blurb for it on ITV. Maybe this is part of their approach —> business as usual. Their lawyers are going to have told them NC so we are not likely to hear anything from them for now.

The host of the show says it’s so unexpected to hear that a Prince can have a bad day and that it’s odd to hear that but lovely at the same time (something to that effect). This is the obsequious fawning that spawned Andrew. It’s irritating to see because he’s a young man and I have higher expectations of millenials and Gen Z!!

I thought that W was always anti-Andrew so it was interesting to read your post @Ukisgaslit that there’s photographic evidence that W wasn’t always against him?

NoDrums · 18/02/2026 10:13

Sorry feels like I’m spamming with posts - Alison Hammond on ITV’s Morning View just made the ‘astute’ observation that W must be en empath because (I also heard him say it) he feels other people’s
problems … couldn’t make this shit up.

🙄

MidWayThruJanuary · 18/02/2026 10:15

Exactly.

ascenda · 18/02/2026 10:18

A fish rots from the head down.

Despite current attempts at subtle brainwashing of the masses with positive spins on certain RF member's personality traits etc. I'll be sticking with the above line.

Would it not be worse to cancel things that will have been organised for months, that other people will have worked hard for and will be depending on?

Ukisgaslit · 18/02/2026 11:02

@bluegreygreen

The radio one clip was pre recorded .
William is probably on holiday

The last we heard from re mental health he was ‘concerned’ about Andrew’s mental health
