Palace PR strategy in the wake of AMW-Epstein scandal

I’ve just seen who I think was a Sky news reporter, reporting on the King’s visit to the Colchester area today, laying out what is obviously the current BP PR strategy in the light of reason developments in the AMW-Epstein scandal.

She said that the Palace wanted it to be made very clear that the RF are very much not ignoring this story and wanting it to go away, and referred her back to Edward’s words about the victims earlier in the week.

But that their policy nonetheless was going to be carry on with their engagements as usual, as they have faced difficulties before, and will do so again.

I’ve no doubt that this is difficult for KC and family but AIBU to think that in the light of what has happened, and the covering up of ALW’s financial and sexual wrongdoings, this isn’t really good enough?

Surely it’s not right that AMW is above the law?

Also, a man in the crowd shouted out a question to KC about whether AMW would be investigated, and two policeman moved him away!

Last time I looked, I thought we lived in a democracy which welcomes free speech?

Why aren’t reporters and members of the public allowed to air their views on this situation and express that AMW should be investigated?

Otherwise isn’t the Palace PR strategy in reality advocating “one rule for them and a different one for us?”

Isn’t that a bit egocentric @simpsonthecat ?? not everyone will be following the same threads or have the same interest in threads which you are interested in.

I’m astonished the Queen needed to do a round robin collection to fund the payoff of VG.

Indeed! , there are different posters on different threads discussing this , I thought everyone would be interested 👍

You don't need to link this on every single thread about the royals JeffG! We do keep ourselves updated you know...
That's the third time you have added it to the threads.

I will say then what I answered on the other ones, who did contribute to the get out of jail fund? Which members of the royal family?

Edited

Who put you in charge?

simpsonthecat · 13/02/2026 09:57

I think we all deserve to know who actually did contribute to the get-out-of-jail free fund.
Back in October 2025, Rachael Maskell MP said this...

Maskell said: “I think we need a lot of clarity over this. I think honesty is so important. Virginia Giuffre no longer is with us, but she has family. It’s important that everyone has transparency. There is no space for obfuscation, no matter how embarrassing it is.”

And....
Nothing happens and we are still wondering who paid what and where from.

Bloody brilliant..he needs to be held to account.
Just watched the Netflix documentary. Absolutely shocking that not one person (apart from a female) is in prison.

This gives me hope .

I’ve said this repeatedly. All those poor women and only a woman (British) behind bars. I hope every single one of those disgusting men, who did this, are quaking in their boots, that justice is hopefully coming for them.

We can only hope. Unfortunately I don't think any one of them will face justice. They're too rich and powerful. Twas ever thus. Whatever people think of Andrew...he had sex with "TRAFFICKED " women. And he knew they were trafficked. So for all the Andrew apologists who keep bleating that the victims were not under the age of consent, it makes no difference whatsoever!

I really wish this whole thing unraveled when the queen and her husband were alive. They enabled A, they tried to hide it all for as long as possible, it all happened under their nose, and this is what is going to end the monarchy.
They should’ve been around to see the consequences of their choices.

Holy crap...has anyone seen this email from the Epstein Files???

Far too much deference when she was alive. Thankfully, that's falling away a bit.

I doubt he understood the notion of what a trafficked woman is. To him it was women who were pleased and honoured to have sex with him. He’s a very arrogant entitled man. He probably thought he was doing them a favour.

Well, he should educate himself. He was Patron of the NSPCC and whilst over in NY on NSPCC business was busying himself taking advantage of young vulnerable girls.
And he had the bloody gall to say this in his interview. How dare he

We now know that, at the time there was no indication to me or anybody else that that was what he was doing and certainly when I saw him either in the United States… oh no when I saw him in the United States or when I was staying in his houses in the United States, there was no indication, absolutely no indication. And if there was, you have to remember that at the time I was patron of the NSPCC's Full Stop campaign so I was close up with what was going on in those time about getting rid of abuse to children so I knew what the things were to look for but I never saw them

AND his daughter set up an anti-slavery charity, surely she could've educated him too.

Are you being serious? Is that going to be his defence? He wasn't a young kid. No way did he not know.

Without wishing to put a dampener on this , it’s been found that quite a few fake and altered images and pages from the Epstein files have been circulating on Reddit, obviously if these were genuine the media would be reporting on it .
many believed that the email about enjoying “torture videos “ was Andrew but it has now been revealed to be someone else.

it’s important to keep an open mind and not jump to conclusions until it’s been verified.
i myself have seen three pages being displayed from drop 9 , each with Meghans name, this is being touted as proof but even to my untrained eyes it looks like it’s been altered or photoshopped, I don’t think it’s genuine but obviously it’s gaining traction, I believe that if it was true the media would be broadcasting it from the rooftops.

Zippedydodah · 15/02/2026 10:41

Who was actually paying for all these poor trafficked girls to be flown in?
AMW?
British Tax payer?
Epstein?

I suspect all of the above. What I don't understand is why Epstein was lending money to AMW and SF, as well as providing girls. Surely no one is stupid enough to think he would want nothing in return? Have they never read any spy books? Never watched a Bond film? Forgot about Profumo?

Zippedydodah · 15/02/2026 12:37

@RainbowBagels i suspect that AWM and SF are so dim and arrogant that they assumed that their mere presence would be sufficient to have Epstein and Maxwell succumbing to their power 😵‍💫🙄
And I also suspect Epstein and ogliarchs, the Chinese and Russians and the Asian billionaires all had hidden cameras and microphones everywhere so hid knows how much more incriminating and criminal activities are yet to be disclosed.
It does make me wonder if the who hideous dêbacle is going to open up the Royal family to blackmail and extortion some time in the future?

Actually, it looks like the Epstein had the good end of that bargain. He got them for cheap.

With Andrew providing him with all of that business intel, Epstein must have made a fortune for himself and for others.

He would have been ahead of every curve.

It doesn't. But there'd have to be evidence he did so after the law came into effect in 2010.

And evidence that he paid for it. Which he likely didn't.

And even if he did and was charged and convicted, it would be a minor offence dealt with in magistrates court.

Or if he didn't pay for it, the law that covers the exploitation of trafficked persons even if no payment was made is in the modern slavery act didn't come into effect till 2015.

I'm not an Andrew apologist BTW, I think he's disgusting but the idea he's being protected from prison doesn't really have much evidence to back it up.

In other words, he's not going to be held to account. Nothing to see here. I suppose it doesn't help that the only people who could have implicated him are dead.

It's not 'nothing to see here' it's that you can’t prosecute someone for something that wasn't illegal when they did it.

It doesn't make it any less disgusting.

Thank you for the explanation. So it's more an immoral issue than illegal?
