Will Andrew move to Abu Dhabi?

Although he is due to be rehoused on the Sandringham estate in the coming months, experts believe he may instead take up a previous offer from the billionaire ruler, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for him to live in one of his plush residences for free.

Royal expert Andrew Lownie, author of Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, said at the weekend that the set-up would be "perfect" for Andrew. He told the Mail on Sunday: "He would be happy living somewhere where the media is muzzled, where he will still be treated as a senior royal and where he can easily live under the radar."

Part of me thinks good riddance and they’re welcome to him, but the thought of him being offered this luxury lifestyle and still being treated like a senior royal is sickening.

Andrew could vanish in move to palace abroad with 'Fort Knox-like security’

Andrew could be set to leave the UK in favour of a luxury £10million Abu Dhabi villa that boasts six bedrooms, a home cinema, indoor plunge pool and a gym - as well as tight security

That said I hope that if he opts for the Middle East his lack of ability to sweat means that he lives in the utmost daily discomfort. @CathyorClaire 👏👏👏 agreed

Perhaps I am naive, but does he still have any power to offer anything?

Genuine question.

No but his brother and the palace have plenty to offer to save themselves the embarrassment of A behaviour becoming public. QE2 paid off VG.

The sensible thing for him to do would be to retire into obscurity on the Sandingham estate. He will therefore be on the first plane to the Middle East.

I was thinking this but then it occurred to me that retiring into obscurity is only a good plan if he wants to rebuild a reputation. I can't see Andrew, who has never apologised or shown remorse, having the self awareness to even think his reputation needs rebuilding.

In the Middle East he can continue in his delusions of power and talent and influence.

I am not really a royal follower but I wouldn't be surprised if he popped off to the ME. I also wouldn't be surprised if Sarah F went too.

I don't really understand the relationship between them. Why does she still hang around him after divorcing him and knowing about what an absolute arse he is?

But... but... he's a very honourable man! Sarah says so herself, he's the most honourable man she knows. Don't forget: Andrew told Emily Maitlis that it's because of his tendency to be overly honourable (I think those were his exact words, but please correct me if not![ that made him stay with JE for five days - in order to break up with him gently.

So I don't think anyone can question his integrity, can they???

I actually laughed out loud at that.

simpsonthecat · 03/01/2026 11:39

Sarah's words.

Just so we know how awful she is.

"Andrew is a true and real gentleman and is stoically steadfast to not only his duty but also his kindness + goodness."

Hahahahaha...

"I am deeply supportive and proud of this giant of a principled man, that dares to put his shoulder to the wind and stands firm with his sense of honour and truth."

Truth? He wouldn't know the truth if it hit him round the head like a wet kipper. He is A PROVEN LIAR
So is she.

Andrew is a great man with a great heart. I won't let him down

You'd do anything for money Sarah, don't kid yourself.

They are the dregs.

Surely even the most unintelligent of advisors would point out that if his intention to try to project retrospective repentance for his long, close association with a known paedophile and child trafficker, in the immediate aftermath of having his royal titles stripped from him, it would not be a good move to move to AD to live on the dollar of a royal family who are the autocratic hereditary rulers of a dictatorship known for suppressing its own citizens seeking a move towards greater accountability and democracy, and known for their control of the judiciary, who acquitted one of their members of torture in what was essentially a token showtrial?

Not to mention their close links to the ruling family of Dubai which, apart from similarly oppressive behaviours, is probably best known in the UK for the kidnap and longtime imprisonment of two of its own female family members, and for the fact that the ex-wife of the ruler (formerly a racing crony of the late Queen's) sought asylum in the UK in the fear that her threatening ex-husband would abduct their children.

simpsonthecat · 03/01/2026 12:41

I don't believe he will move to the ME. He is too British, too royal, too aristocratic. (in his eyes)
Far too foreign for him to live over there despite being on their payroll for so long. He just liked mixing with super rich Oligarchs, but now he is stripped of everything and he's plain old Andy, he cannot compete with them. All he had was his royal links.
Now tenuous

I agree, I think he’ll be happy enough to stay here. He’ll still have a very nice lifestyle and be protected within the Royal family.

CathyorClaire · 03/01/2026 20:29

I don't think he has any intention of projecting repentance or reflection of any ilk.
Even if he did (and who would believe it genuine?) that ship sailed long ago.

In true royal form and true to himself, he'll be looking to chisel the best possible deal and I think royal retention of the gurning 'blood princesses' is a clause.

ThatCalmFinch · 03/01/2026 20:34

SF has been very quiet, they've said she won't move with Andrew so I wonder where she will end up and if she will keep up the low profile.

I wonder if she regrets flogging the rather desirable London mews at a £400k loss just three years after she bought it?

Quite likely it was a money laundering exercise

AnotherWeirdBarbie · 05/01/2026 02:03

He’ll stay here and be kept safe by Charles and then William. He’ll be very comfortable and it requires no effort on his part. He’ll travel to get his need for girls and young women met and we won’t know a thing about it.

I had the impression that they lived entirely separate lives in a house that was divided up. It suited them and they probably believed it was better for their image and perhaps even told themselves that it was a better look for the daughters.
She knew he was with young girls. He knew she knew but the price of silence was presumably her lifestye. By living there and pretending to be this couple that coudn't quite separate completely, it stopped any questions about who he was dating, leaving him to pick and choose young girls as he wished.

FuzzyWolf · 05/01/2026 02:27

Hopefully Charles will step in and remove his passport so he can’t leave and cause any further damage to the monarchy’s reputation.

I read an article pointing at Fergie moving there, not Andrew though unless I’ve missed it.

AutumnCrowAgain · 06/01/2026 03:36

Bloody hell, that Brooksbank bloke is going to need deeper pockets to accommodate his wife’s awful family in his Portuguese villas at this rate.

I don’t think the royal outcasts are going to accept just any old off-the-peg houses. They’ll want deluxe models. Free, of course. With staff. And ATMs that just spew out cash with the wave of a hand.

Sounds exactly like the obsequious praise she heaped on Epstein in her email.

Sweetiedarling7 · 06/01/2026 06:42

I would be concerned that he could be used against the UK in some way if he moved to the Middle East.
He is a complete loose canon and we need him under close management.
Much as I would love him to fuck off I think he needs to be kept here.

StillFine · 06/01/2026 09:13

I think he’ll stay in the UK. Lucky us! 🤢

He is a disgusting piece of shit, well suited to his ex wife. His daughters never stood a chance with their genes and influence.

Rest in peace Virginia.

It’s always a possibility. Who knows who has what information or what can be used. There is so much corruption.

I've read Fergie is tipped to move into a converted cattleshed at Bea's Cotswolds gaffe but who knows?

For once though and finally she seems to be keeping her head down unlike the allegedly former prince cavorting around in a brand new top of the range royal deal Landy.

BasiliskStare · 06/01/2026 21:12

I haven't read the whole thread @CathyorClaire but this alone deserves the laugh emoji back

"That said I hope that if he opts for the Middle East his lack of ability to sweat means that he lives in the utmost daily discomfort."

😂just for you. Frankly I'd personally be happy to be seen him having to read novels to a chap in the jungle for the rest of his life , but life is not an Evelyn Waugh novel.
