I find it a bit cringe to be honest. As much as we have seen very poor behaviour from many of the royals, Charles and Diana, Camilla, Andrew and Sarah, I mean a lot of it is just really bad, like really bad, and some of it a bit eye brow raising, for example does Edward actually even do anything? Yet I somehow find Harry in this interview a bit desperate and try hard, it’s the trying to be a celeb thing and is more his wife’s thing.

I guess he’s never going fi be a working royal, he’s married a wannabe, so I assume this is if for him now, he’s also a wannabe.

Edward does a lot, it just never gets into the papers. Aside from the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, which he is Patron of and visits both here and abroad regularly, he has been on numerous foreign tours this year and is often doing bread and butter visits to places around the country.

Edward does hundreds of royal engagements a year. But because he isn't the monarch or the heir, keeps his nose clean and doesn't court publicity he doesn't attract media attention.

Yes - it's been a slow train coming for them but I think ( my opinion) E & S are over the Arden productions / PR firm era and actually do quite a lot of less glamorous , low key work.

Edward did 126 engagements last year. Less than half his total for 2023 which was estimated at 1.4 months FTE.

I suppose it's possible he's another slaving away at top secret work no-one's allowed to know about but as he's 15th in line to the throne it seems unlikely.

Are those day events or are some extended trips abroad?

They are listed as 'engagements'.

As far as I can work out from press reports he did a couple of foreign trips six months apart which might have added some 10 days or so to the total but even doubling that (and I don't believe that to be the case) wouldn't add up to an onerous workload.

My impression is S does quite a lot - overseas and domestic - but I have no facts to back that up 😊

S always seems to be abroad representing the crown. Now I’d love to know what she has done to look so glowing.

"Less than half his total for 2023" suggests that he has been unwell, as people who have mentioned his weightloss in previous threads suggested. Otherwise he would just keep plugging away. It isn't hard work, after all, just a bit boring.

There have been no official indications Edward might be in less than robust health and as he's just completed a jaunt to Nigeria and Ghana it would seem speculation remains just that.

It will as always be interesting to see the annual royal engagement league tables kindly collated by the press.
